1.Observation of effect of comprehensive rehabilitation on elder hypertension
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2005;11(2):133-134
ObjectiveTo observe the effect of comprehensive rehabilitation on elder hypertension.Methods136 old patients with hypertension were divided randomly into the simple recuperating group (control group) and comprehensive rehabilitation group (observing group) with 68 cases in each group. Patients in simple recuperating group were treated with routine medicine and meal therapy. Cases in comprehensive rehabilitation group were added with health education, recuperating with natural factors, kinesiatrics, psychology and view treatment, etc. The blood pressure, symptoms and dosage of medicine of patients of two groups were compared.ResultsAfter two months treatment, blood pressures of all patients of two groups were dwon and symptoms improved, but that of comprehensive rehabilitation group were more obvious (P<0.01 and P<0.05). While the number of persons ceasing or reducing dosage of medicine in comprehensive rehabilitation group was greater than that of in simple recuperating group (P<0.01).ConclusionThe comprehensive rehabilitation is effect on elder hypertension.
2.The effect of psychological intervention on post-stroke depression in the elderly
Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(08):-
Objective To investigate the effect of psychological intervention on post-stroke depression. Methods Eighty-four patients were recruited and divided into 2 groups: a psychological intervention group and a control group. Both groups were treated with routine medications for stroke and anti-depressant drugs as well as rehabilitation interventions, while the psychological intervention group was also treated with psychological approaches in addition. All the patients were evaluated, before and after the treatment, with the Hamilton Assessment of Depression (HMAD), Neurological Function Assessment (NFA), Barthel Index (BI) and the Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA). Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference between the two groups with regard to all the assessment parameters. After 6 to 8 weeks of treatment, there were significant differences between the two groups with regard to HMAD and NFA scores (P

Objective To observe the effect of eradication of helicobacter pylori (Hp) combined with comprehensive rehabilitation treat-ment on patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Methods From December, 2015 to April, 2016, 219 patients diagnosed as NAFLD with Hp infection were enrolled, in which 119 patients (observation group) were treated with anti Hp quadruple therapy. They were tested with 13C urea breath test one month after drug withdrawal. The other 100 patients were as control group. The severity of NAFLD was observed with abdominal ultrasound after six months. Results After treatment, Hp was eradicated in 107 cases (90.68%) in the observation group, one dropped out for pulmonary infection. After six months, the severity of NAFLD improved better in the patients eradicated Hp in the observation group than in the control group (χ2=8.397, P<0.05). Conclusion Eradication of Hp combined with comprehensive rehabilita-tion treatment can improve the severity of NAFLD.

Objective To measure the quality of life (QoL) of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia ( GTN ) survivors after chemotherapy by using a self-invented scale, and to explore the factors associated with QoL Methods The design of questionnaire was based on a series of internationally valid QoL scales, which was tested by epidemiology and showed good reliability and validity. A total of 100 survivors of GTN patients from Peking Union Medical College Hospital participated in this survey from December 2008 to May 2009. Results Patients with disease-free more than three months after chemotherapy enjoys a good QoL,while only 16% (16/100) of survivors feel general overall QoL, but no one feels bad Qol. As refer to sexual function, more than half of these patients (70%, 70/100) satisfied with their sexual life, while there were still 47% (47/100) and 45% (45/100) of the patients complaining of decreased sexual desire and dryness of vagina. 66% (66/100) of the GTN survivors expressed depression, and 50% (50/100) of patients complained anxiety, which were potential factors influencing QoL of GTN survivors. Relevant analysis explored the possible predictors of QoL for GTN patients, including physical function ( r = 0. 609,P <0. 01 ), sexual function ( r = 0. 473, P < 0. 01 ), and social psychology ( r = 0. 294, P < 0. 01 ).Conclusions GTN survivors have an overall good QoL after chemotherapy, the possible predictors of QoL for GTN patients include physical function, sexual function and social psychology. The sexual dysfunctions mostly present with short of sexual desire and dryness of vagina. Fear of recurrence may be a potential factor influencing QoL a long term after remission.

[ ABSTRACT] AIM: To detect basic fibroblast growth factor ( bFGF ) expression in clinical common malignant tumor ( non-small-cell lung cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer and melanoma) , and to identify relationship between the expression and tumor clinicopathological characteristics.METHODS:Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expression of bFGF at protein level in 208 cases of paraffin-embedded tissue of primary malignant tumor patients ( 68 cases of lung cancer, 80 cases of breast carcinoma, 41 cases of colon cancer and 19 cases of melanoma) .RESULTS:The bFGF protein expression levels were significantly higher in low differentiated non-small-cell lung cancer with lymph node metastasis, and were positively correlated with TNM.In addition, no significant influence of the bFGF protein expression on the patients with median survival period was observed. The protein expression of bFGF was higher in advanced breast cancer with lymph node metastasis and was commonly found in the middle/higher differentiated colon cancer with regional lymph node metastasis.Meanwhile, bFGF protein was highly expressed in advanced melanoma patients with lymph node metastasis.CONCLUSION:bFGF may participate in the process of occurrence and progression of malignant tumor.Ex-pression of bFGF protein may be an effective parameter for evaluating metastasis and prognosis of malignant tumor.

AIM:To detect the expression of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and matrix metalloprotei-nase 9 (MMP9) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and its correlation with clinicopathological features and prognosis of the patients.METHODS:The expression of bFGF and MMP9 was detected by the method of SP immunohistochemical staining in biopsy tissues of NPC patients. The relationship between the expression and the clinical significance was analyzed as well.RESULTS:In 289 cases of NPC patients, the positive rates of bFGF and MMP9 were 71.3% and 61.6%, respectively.Correlation analysis demonstrated that the expression rates of bFGF and MMP9 were both positively associated with N stage and clinical stage in NPC patients. The high expression rates of both bFGF and MMP9 were associated with poor overall survival and progression-free survival of NPC patients.Furthermore, the positive rate of bFGF was positively correlated with that of MMP9, and over-expression of both bFGF and MMP9 was correlated with the poorest survival outcomes in NPC patients.CONCLUSION:bFGF and MMP9 are over-expressed in NPC tissues and significantly associated with NPC recurrence and poor outcome. The combined interpretation of bFGF and MMP9 expression levels leads to refinement of the risks for the NPC patients and could be chosen as the prognostic biomarkers.
