BACKGROUND:Many animal experiments and clinical observation proved that dispeling turbid phlegm herb has good adjustment function on serum lipid, lipoprotein and liver lipid. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of dispeling turbid phlegm herb on monocyte chemotactic factor-1, C-reactive protein and serum lipids in rabbits with dietary atherosclerosis. METHODS: A total of 50 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into five groups. Rabbits in the blank control group were fed with basic feed, and simultaneously intragastricaly administrated physiological saline 10 mL/kg per day, for 10 consecutive weeks. Rabbits in the model group were given high-fat diet to prepare atherosclerosis models, and simultaneously intragastricaly administrated physiological saline 10 mL/kg per day, for 10 consecutive weeks. Rabbits in the phlegm turbidity treatment group were given high-fat diet to prepare atherosclerosis models, and simultaneously intragastricaly administrated dispeling turbid phlegm herb 10 mL/kg per day, for 10 consecutive weeks. Rabbits in theXuezhikang group were given high-fat diet to prepare atherosclerosis models, and simultaneously administratedXuezhikang 10 mL/kg per day, for 10 consecutive days. Rabbits in the phlegm turbidity treatment group were given high-fat diet for 10 weeks to prepare atherosclerosis models, and intragastricaly administered physiological saline 10 mL/kg per day for 6 weeks, and then given dispeling turbid phlegm herb 10 mL/kg per day for 4 weeks. At 10 weeks, serum lipid, C-reactive protein, and monocyte chemokine 1 mRNA expressions were detected, and pathological observation of the aorta was performed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Xuezhikang and dispeling turbid phlegm herb could decrease serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, high density lipid protein cholesterol, C-reactive protein and monocyte chemokine 1 mRNA expression level, and apparently inhibited atherosclerotic changes. The preventive effect of dispeling turbid phlegm herb was better that its therapeutic effect.

Objective To explore the risk factors and outcome of stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) in emergency ward. Methods The baseline characteristics and laboratory data of 306 patients with stroke in emergency ward of our hospital from April, 2014 to December, 2016 were reviewed. Patients were allocated into SAP group (n=120) and non-SAP group (n=186). The multivariable Logistic regression was applied to investigate risk factors for the progression and death of SAP. Results Totally, 120 (39.2%) patients developed SAP, in which 34 (28.3%) cases died. There were significant differences in age, the scores of Glasgow Coma Score (GCS), Sequential Organ Failure As-sessment (SOFA) and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and mechanical ventilation, dysphagia, antiacid and tube feeding (P<0.05). The multivariable Logistic regression analysis revealed that age over 65 years, hypertension, GCS<9, NIHSS, dysphagia and anti-acid were the risk factors for the development of SAP;the SOFA, NIHSS>15 and mechanical ventilation were the risk factors for 30-day mortality in SAP group. Conclusion SAP is a severe complication of stroke, it is associated with a variety of risk factors that affect its out-come in emergency ward.

Objective To enhance engraftment by infusing two partially matched cord blood (CB) units from unrelated donors simultaneously. Methods Two patients with high-risk leukemia(1 case of ALL and 1 case of CML-BC) received total body irradiation with antithymocyte globulin (ATG) and then were transplanted with two HLA-mismatched CB units from unrelated donors. A combination of cyclosporine A, methylprednisonelone and mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) was administered for graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis. Results Two patients were all engrafted and the time to neutrophil≥ 0.5 ?10 9/L and platelet≥20?10 9/L were 21, 22 days and 51, 28 days post-transplant respectively, and DNA analysis showed only one donor DNA was detectable after engraftment. There was no serious GVHD. And these 2 patients are still alive and disease free for more than 34 and 30 months repectively. Conclusion Double units cord blood from unrelated donors can restore hematopoiesis and is suitable in adults without bone marrow donors.

Objective To evaluate the barium meal radiography and CT scans in diagnosing malignant gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) of small intestine. Methods The clinical and imaging data of 16 patients with GISTs of small intestine which were diagnosed surgically and pathologically were analyzed and summarized. In this group CT scan and gastrointestinal barium exam(GI) was performed. Results The tumors included 6 low-malignant GISTs of small intestine and 10 high-malignants. The diameter varied from 3.2 cm to 7.2 cm, the average size was 5.6 cm. The main signs of barium meal of malignant GIST of small intestine included flattened or destroyed mucosa runae, partial lumen stenosis, and barium fleck and fistula in the tumor. On CT scans, the main manifestation was an extraluminal mass with multiple necrosis areas of low density. Conclusion Barium examination and helical CT scan are the major imaging techniques in the determination of the location of GIST of small intestine. The appearance of imperfect lumen and the irregular tumor with multiulcerations or low density regions and inhomoneneous enhancement may lead to the correct diagnosis of malignant GIST.

Objective: To investigate the antiatherosclerotic effect of the extract from grape seed in C57BL/6J mice. Method: The mice were fed with atherosclerotic diet for 20 w and then with basic diet or different dosage of grape seed extract for 4 w. The blood samples were examined for blood lipid. The sections of aorta were examined and scored microscopically. Results: After fed with atherogenic diet for 20 w, the aortic score was 7.2?1.3 and TG, Chol and MDA in serum were significantly increased. After fed with the extract of grape seed for 4 w, the aortic score was reduced to 6.0?1.2, and TG, TC, and MDA levels also decreased. Conclusion: The extract of grape seed has antiatherosclerotic effect.

With the extension of university development and large-scale expansion, the connotation building is related to the sustainable development and stamina of colleges and universities,so colleges and universities begin to shift the focus on the "scale effect"gradually to "content-building". This paper analyzes the important role the connotation building plays in the development of universities from the need of university history, disciplines, professional develop-ment and personnel training.

Objective To investigate the effect of astragalus polysaccharides injection (APS) on autophagy of human nasopharyngeal cancer CNE-2 cells. Methods The inhibitory effect of APS on proliferation of CNE-2 cells was measured by CCK8 assay.Morphological changes of autophagy of APS was detected by acridine orange (AO) staining.Transmission electron microscopy was perform to observe the morphological alterations in the autophagic cells. The expression of Beclin-1 protein was detected by Western blot assay. Results APS markedly inhibited cell growth in a dose-and time-dependent manner.Increases of the number of large vacuoles and double layered membrane structure were observed by transmission electron microscopy. Results of AO staining revealed more bright red cytoplasm or nucleus in the ceradime group, which proved the existence of acidic vesicular organelles.Western blotting showed that Beclin-1 protein level was up-regulated.Conclusion APS may induce autophagy of human nasopharyngeal cancer CNE-2 cells via up-regulating the expression of apoptosis-related gene of beclin1 and inhibit the proliferation of CNE-2 cells.
