Objective To investigate the anti-fatigue effect of complex bear gall agent in mice. Methods Different dose of complex bear gall agent(4.4ml/kg、6.6ml/kg、13.2rml/kg)were given to mice by intragastric administration. The time of climbing-pole and loaded-swimming, hepatic glycogen content, serum urea nitrogen, lactic acid and lactate dehydrogenase of mice after swim were observed. Results The experiments indicated that complex bear gall agent could greatly increase the time of loaded-swimming and climbing Pole, increase the hepatic glycogen content and serum lactate dehydrogenase activity ,decrease serum urea nitrogen and blood lactic acid content in mice. Conclusion Complex bear gall agent had a significant anti-fatigue effect.

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced spiral CT after low tension and drinking water in papillary carcinoma of ampulla. Methods CT manifestations of papillary carcinoma of ampulla comfirmed pathologically in 20 cases were analysed retrospectively emphasized in artery phase on contrast CT which was performed after injecting 654-2 20 mg and drinking 300~500 ml water. Results Of all the cases , only 2 cases showed tumor filling defect in the descending part of duedenum nearby pancreas on routine CT, but all the cases showed more or less tumor filling defect on contrast-enhanced spiral CT . The diameters of the tumor were between 0.8 to 2.6 cm,2 cases with head of pancreas affected, the diameters of the tumor were between 2.4 to 2.6 cm.There were 2 cases with lymph node metastasis nearby duedenum. All the cases showed expansion of gallbladder ,intrahepatic duct and choledochus expanding in the liver. Conclusion Contrast-enhanced spiral CT after low tension and drinking water is superior to routine CT in determining the size and morphosis of tumor.

AIM: Stable human macrophage-derived foam cell model is significant for the study on artherosclerosis. This study investigated the feasibility of establishing macrophage-derived foam cell model using U937 cell lines. METHODS: The experiment was performed at Institute of Basic Medicine, Chengde Medical College from March to September 2006. ①U937 cell lines were purchased from Institute of Biochemistry & Cell Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. ②Sixteen bottles of U937 cells (109 L-1) were incubated at 37 ℃ in saturated humidity containing 5% CO2 for 72 hours. Among them, eight bottles contained 100 ?g/L phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate (PMA) and 100 mg/L low-density lipoprotein (LDL) as experimental group, and the other eight bottles only 100 mg/L LDL as control group. ③Cell morphology was studied under light microscope by Wright's and Oil red O staining. Cell total cholesterol (TC) was measured after 72 hours of incubation. RESULTS: A large amount of lipid droplets were found in the cytoplasm by Oil red O staining in cells of the experimental group, but not found in control group cells. TC in cells of the experimental group was significantly higher than in control group [(520.13?37.52), (39.47?9.26) mg/g, t=35.18, P

Purpose To investigate the value of T2WI mild-moderate signal and restricted diffusion in the context of liver imaging reporting and data system (LI-RADS) (2014 edition) in the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with cirrhosis caused by hepatitis B virus.Materials and Methods A total of 77 lesions (LI-RADS 3-5,size of 1.1 cm×0.7 cm-12.7 cm×9.1 cm) of 69 HCC patients in Beijing Friendship Hospital from January 2012 to November 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. All these patients underwent MRI scan and multiphase dynamic enhanced scan. The images were analyzed by two radiologists. If a disagreement occurred, liver accelerated volume acquisition and multiphase dynamic enhanced scan were combined to reach a consensus. The contrast noise ratio (CNR) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) of T2WI and diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) sequences were compared,as well as the identification of the two signs. Results There was no statistically significant difference between T2WI mild-moderate signal and restricted diffusion in the identification of lesions (LI-RADS 3-5) (P>0.05),while the sensitivity with DWI b=0 (61.0%) was significantly lower than DWI b=600 s/mm2 (70.1%) (P<0.05).The CNR of all DWI sequences (b=0,600 s/mm2) were larger than those of T2WI (P<0.01).The ADC of small lesions (diameter <2 cm) were larger than those of larger lesions (diameter >2 cm) [(1.57+0.37)×10-3 mm2/s vs.(1.37+0.51)×10 3 mm2/s,P<0.05].Conclusion There is no significant difference in sensitivity of lesions between T2WI mild-moderate signal and restricted diffusion. However, due to different CNRs,DWI with b=600 s/mm2 is more obvious for the lesions, and can be first investigated in practice.

Astragali radix(AR,the dried root of Astragalus)is a popular herbal remedy in both China and the United States. The commercially available AR is commonly classified into premium graded(PG)and ungraded(UG)ones only according to the appearance. To uncover novel sensitive and specific markers for AR grading,we took the integrated mass spectrometry-based untargeted and targeted metabolomics ap-proaches to characterize chemical features of PG and UG samples in a discovery set(n=16 batches).A series of five differential compounds were screened out by univariate statistical analysis, including arginine, calycosin, ononin, formononetin, and astragaloside Ⅳ,most of which were observed to be accumulated in PG samples except for astragaloside Ⅳ.Then,we performed machine learning on the quantification data of five compounds and constructed a logistic regression prediction model. Finally, the external validation in an independent validation set of AR(n=20 batches)verified that the five com-pounds,as well as the model, had strong capability to distinguish the two grades of AR,with the pre-diction accuracy>90%.Our findings present a panel of meaningful candidate markers that would significantly catalyze the innovation in AR grading.
