Objective To analyze the clinical risk factors of the occurrence of severe proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) after scleral reattachment surgery. Methods A total of 4 031 eyes of 4 031 consecutive patients with reghmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) and PVR (grade C1 or less), on whom the scleral buckling was performed, were retrospectively studied. Twenty-two clinical characteristics of the patients (including the ocular tension, condition of lens and vitreous, characteristics of retinal detachment, whether or not with choroidal detachment, et al) were recorded. In 4 031 patients, 2 660 were followed up for more than 3 months, and 72 (in PVR group) of the 2 660 patients underwent the second surgery (vitreoretinal surgery) because of the occurrence of postoperative severe PVR; in the other 2 588patients, 72 (72 eyes) with retinal reattachment for more than 3 months were selected randomly as the control. The data were analyzed in SPSS (10.0) software. Results Logistic regression analysis revealed that the significant risk factors for PVR were incomplete posterior vitreous detachment (P2 DD,P

Objective To investigate the status quo and influencing factors of compassion fatigue among nurses in psychiatric hospitals. Methods The self-designed demographic questionnaire, compassion fatigue scale,occupation-al identity assessment scale and social support rating scale were employed to investigate 480 nurses in five psychi-atric hospitals from two provinces. Results The scores for each dimension in compassion fatigue scale were as fol-lows:compassion satisfaction(32.26±5.34),occupational burnout(27.67±4.34),and secondary traumatic stress(23.72± 4.41).Age,position,individual monthly income, health status, job satisfaction and occupational identity had significant influence on compassion satisfaction(F=19.351,P<0.001). Individual monthly income, health status, job satisfaction and occupational identity had significant influence on occupation burnout (F=35.705,P<0.001). Individual monthly income, personality and social support had significant influence on secondary traumatic stress(F=17.203,P<0.001). Conclusion Nurses in psychiatric hospitals had severe compassion fatigue and this status was influenced by multiple reasons. Nursing managers should pay great attention to nurses with low monthly income, poor health, low job satisfaction, weak social support and low occupational identity, and take effective measures to decrease compassion fatigue of nurses.

Objective: To explore the action mechanism of electroacupuncture (EA) in improving the gastric motility of rats with diabetic gastroparesis (DGP). Methods: Forty-eight healthy Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly assigned into four groups: a normal group (group A), a model group (group B), a group of EA at acupoints (group C), and a group of EA at non-acupoints (group D), 12 rats in each group. The animal model of DGP was established by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ) plus high glucose and fat diet. The blood glucose, urine glucose and gastric emptying rate (GER) were observed. The content of insulin (INS) in serum and ghrelin in gastric antrum tissue were detected by enzyme linked immunoassay (ELISA). The expression of growth hormone secretagogue receptor mRNA (GHSR mRNA) in gastric antrum tissue was detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results:Compared with group A, blood glucose and urine glucose increased significantly (P<0.01), GER, content of serum insulin, the content of ghrelin and expression of GHSR mRNA in gastric antrum tissue decreased significantly (P<0.05 orP<0.01) in group B. Compared with group B, blood glucose and urine glucose decreased significantly (P<0.05), GER, the content of insulin in serum, the content of ghrelin and expression of GHSR mRNA in gastric antrum tissue increased significantly (P<0.05 orP<0.01) in group C. Conclusion: EA at acupoints can down-regulate the content of blood and urine sugar, and promote gastric emptying, which is possibly related to the regulation of serum insulin, and the expressions of ghrelin and GHSR mRNA in gastric antrum.
