Herald of Medicine 2014;(10):1265-1268
Objective To investigate the effects of apigenin on the migration of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) induced by platelet derived growth factor (PDGF)-BB and the possible molecular mechanism. Methods VSMCs were isolated from thoracic aortas of male Sprague-Dawley rats using enzyme digestion method. Migration of VSMCs was determined by transwell assay. Western blotting was carried out to evaluate phosphorylation of c-jun N-terminal kinase (JNK). Results Treatment with PDGF-BB (20 ng·mL-1 ) significantly promote VSMC migration, the number of migrated cells was 2. 46 times than that of control group. However, after 12. 5 μmol·L-1 apigenin pretreatment, the number of migrated cells was 46. 5% of the PDGF-BB group. Various dose of apigenin can significantly inhibit VSMC migration induced by PDGF-BB,12. 5 μmol · L-1 apigenin treatment significantly inhibited PDGF-BB phosphorylation of JNK. Conclusion Apigenin can suppress the migration of VSMC induced by PDGF-BB. These beneficial effects on VSMC were at least partly mediated by the inhibition of activity of JNK.
5. Tolerance and efficacy of nasogastric enteral nutrition for severe acute pancreatitis: A meta-analysis
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2013;38(2):141-146
Objective To evaluate the tolerance and efficacy of nasogastric enteral nutrition (NGEN) in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). Methods PUBMED, Web of Science and The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials from 1966 to 2011 (up to October) and Chinese Journals Full-text Database (CNKI), Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals (VIP) and Wanfang Digital Journal Full-text Database from 1978 to 2011 (up to October) were retrieved to collect clinical randomized controlled trials of NGEN to compare with nasojejunal enteral nutrition (NJEN) in the treatment of SAP. Two reviewers independently screened the literature for eligibility and evaluated the quality with confirmation of cross-check. Different opinions would be decided by the third party. Statistical analysis was performed by meta-analysis using Review Manager 4.2. Results Three randomized controlled trails including 159 patients with SAP met the inclusion criteria, involving 82 patients in NGEN group and 77 in NJEN group. There was no significant difference between NGEN and NJEN group in the risk of mortality of SAP (RR=0.69, 95%CI: 0.37-1.29, P=0.25), conversion to surgery (RR=2.09, 95% CI: 0.55-7.92, P=0.28), diarrhea subsequent to enteral nutrition (RR=1.43, 95% CI: 0.59-3.45, P=0.43), rate of tube displacement (RR=0.42, 95%CI: 0.08-2.17, P=0.30) and pain related with enteral nutrition (RR=0.94, 95%CI: 0.32-2.70, P=0.90). While compared with NJEN, the risk of infectious complications was lower than NGEN (RR=0.64, 95%CI: 0.42-0.99, P=0.04). Conclusion In enteral nutrition support of SAP, NGEN is comparable to NJEN in efficacy and tolerance, but the former has the lower rate of infectious complications and easier to operate, and there is a tendency of NEGN to replace the latter.
6.Shuxuetong injection in treating patients with acute cerebral infarction and its effects on level of serum C-reactive protein
Chinese Journal of Neuromedicine 2010;9(6):619-621
Objective To observe the curative effects of Shuxuetong in treating patients with acute cerebral infarction and its effects on the level of serum C-reactive protein (CRP).Methods One hundred and twenty patients with acute cerebral infarction who had the onset within 48 h were equally randomized into treatment group and control group.Six ml Shuxuetong and Troxerutin for intravenous drip daily were given to the treatment group and the control group, respectively, for a consecutive 14 d.The concentrations of serum CRP in the 2 groups were measured by immunonephelometry before treatment and on the 5th,10th and 14th d of treatment. The scores of neurological functional deficit scale were compared before treatment and on the 14th d of treatment in the 2 groups. Results The concentration of serum CRP in the treatment group on the 5th,10th and 14th d of treatment was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).The scores of neurological functional deficit scale in the treatment group (14.57±7.88) were significantly lower than those in the control group (19.08±8.11) (P<0.05).The clinical efficacy between the 2 groups was obviously different (P<0.05).Conclusion Shuxuetoug can decrease the concentration of serum CRP and improve the nervous function in patients with acute cerebral infarction.

ObjectiveTo explore the relations between the alkaline phosphatase(ALP) and the type of cerebral palsy. MethodsThe ALP level of 40 children with different types of cerebral palsy were examined with the Olympus AU-600 apparatus. ResultsThe ALP value of the children with spastic cerebral palsy is normal. The ALP value of the children with athetoid cerebral palsy is higher than spastic cerebral palsy(P<0.001).Conclusions The ALP value can help us to identify the type of cerebral palsy.

Objective To screen the arsenic content situation of drinking water in lower reaches of Yellow River and survey the amount of threatened people drinking high arsenic water and the condition of endemic arsenism. Methods Four counties of Yuncheng,Jiaxiang,Dongchangfu and Boxing were selected to colleft the water samples by CroOSS-sectional survey method. The water arsenic content wag determined by semi-quantitative rapid kit.All water samples having arsenic were re-determined by atomic fluorescence spectrometry. And the nurober of threatened people who drinking high arsenic water were investigated. Results In 4765 water wells screened,303 water samples had contained arsenic, arsenic content of 35 samples Was≥0.030 mg/L,12 samples were exceeding the international standard (arsenic content≥0.050 ms/L),they distributed in 3 counties of Dongchangfu,Yuncheng and Jiaxiang. The residents drinking water wells of arsenic content≥0.030 mg/L were surveyed by epidemiological investigation. And in the 28 villages 13 032 residents and 11 Bu8picious patient8 wlere checked out. Conclusion The wells with excesive water arsenic content are existing in the lower reaches of Yellow River and people suspicious of endemic arsenism need to be further identified.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2001;22(1):12-14
Objective: To verify whether there exists melatoni n(Mel) receptor in human embryonic nervous system. Methods: Spec ific binding of Mel to embryonic brain and spinal cord was measured by radioliga nd binding assay. Results: 125 I-Mel binding s ites in optomeninx was the most, in eptochiasm and sniff ball was next; GTPγS d ose-de pendently inhibited the binding. Conclusion: The results demonst rate the presence of specific binding of Mel in human embryonic brain and spinal cord. GTPγS has some effect on 125 I-Mel specific binding, support ing the theory that Mel receptor is coupled to inhibitory G-proteins.

Bulletin of The Academy of Military Medical Sciences 2001;25(1):1-4
Objective:To choose the best vector for the expression of CS3 fimbriae. Methods: The CS3 operon was cloned into different plasmid vectors such as pUC19 and pTrc99A. The expression of CS3 was monitored by whole-cell ELISA and SDS-PAGE analysis. The assembly of CS3 fimbriae was detected with electron microscopy. Results:The expression level of CS3 fimbriae using plasmid pUC19 as carrying vector was the highest, and the insertion orientation of CS3 gene into the plasmid has a little effect on its expression level. The expression of CS3 fimbriae was confirmed by SDS-PAGE analysis and electron microscopy. Conclusions:The promotor of CS3 itself played the key role in the expression of CS3 fimbriae and the copy number of plasmid was the main factor to affect the expression level.
