1.Determination of Five Heavy Metal Elements in Vacant Gelatin Capsule Shells

Objective:To determine the contents of 5 heavy mental elements , Cr, Pb, Cd, Cu and Zn, in vacant gelatin capsule shells.Methods:Graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry was used to determine Cr , Pb and Cd, and flame atomic absorption spectrometry was used to determine Cu and Zn .Results: The vacant gelatin capsule shells contained Cr , Pb, Cd, Cu and Zn up to 1.850, 0.404, 0.019, 6.295,5.839 mg· kg-1, respectively.Conclusion:The method can be used for the content determination of Cr, Pb, Cd, Cu and Zn in vacant gelatin capsule shells , which provides scientific basis for the development of quality standard .
2.Study on the Determination of β - Eucalyptol in Magnolia officinalis by Headspace Gas Chromatography

Objective To study the method of headspace gas chromatography for the determination of β-eugenol in Magnolia officinalis. Methods Headspace gas chromatography was used. The column was HP-INNOWax capillary column, the detector was hydrogen flame ionization detector, inlet temperature: 200 ℃; column temperature: 135 ℃ for 3min, at 10 ℃/min heating rate rose to 150 ℃, At a rate of 15 ℃/min up to 250 ℃for 5 min; constant flow rate: 0.8 mL/min; detector temperature: 250 ℃; headspace injection, gas injection volume: 1 mL, headspace Temperature 180 ℃, the balance time 30min; with the external standard method according to the peak area calculation results. Results The linear range of the concentration of menthol was 2.49~24.86 μg/mL (r=0.9994). The RSD of the precision, stability and repeatability test were <5%, the average recovery was 97.0%, RSD was 0.84% (n=9). Conclusion The method is simple and accurate for the determination of volatile oil.
3.Content Determination of Antiseptics in Anshen Bunao Oral Liquid by HPLC

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the determination of antiseptics in Anshen bunao oral liquid. METHODS:HPLC method was adopted. The determination was performed on Agilent Zorbax SB-C18 column with mobile phase consisted of ace-tonitrile-0.05% phosphorice acid solution (gradient elution) at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelength was set at 236 nm,and column temperature was 30℃. The injection volume was 10μL. RESULTS:The linear range of benzoic acid and eth-ylparaben were 12.85-128.54 μg/mL(r=0.9999)and 4.05-40.48 μg/mL(r=0.9998),respectively. The limits of quantitation were 0.514,1.012 μg/mL. The limits of detection were 0.171,0.353 μg/mL. RSDs of precision,stability and reproducibility tests were all lower than 1.0%. The recoveries were 99.38%-100.21%(RSD=0.31%,n=6),97.96%-100.72%(RSD=0.91%,n=6). CON-CLUSIONS:The method is simple and accurate,and can be used for content determination of antiseptics in Anshen bunao oral liq-uid.
4.Analysis of the allocation of desks and chairs in classrooms of primary and secondary schools in China

Objective:
To understand the allocation of desks and chairs in primary and secondary schools in China from 2018 to 2021 and its influencing factors, so as to provide basis for differentiate intervention strategies.
Methods:
The data related to the allocation of desks and chairs in 153 568 primary and secondary schools in the national random supervision and random inspection from 2018 to 2021 were used to calculate the qualified rate of each index. And the factors related to the qualified rate of two types of desks and chairs in primary and secondary schools were analyzed.
Results:
The overall qualified rate of desks and chairs was 74.23 %(113 986 schools), and the qualified rate in urban areas (78.10%) was higher than that in towns (75.93%) and villages (70.39%); The qualified rate of junior middle school (76.15%) was higher than that of senior high school (75.12%) and primary school (73.56%); The qualified rate in the East (84.07%) was higher than that in the Middle (77.24%) and West (61.99%). And the differences were of statistical significance( χ 2=945.81, 95.29, 6 757.58, P <0.01). The qualified rate of desks and chairs in the school shows an upward trend by year.
Conclusion
The overall qualified rate of desks and chairs in primary and secondary schools in China is not ideal, which need further attention from department of health administration, education, school, as well as other organizations to formulate differentiate intervention strategy despite increasing.
5.Characteristics of clinical manifestations and molecular genetics of late-onset cobalamin C deficiency

Objective To investigate the characteristics of clinical manifestations and genetics of late-onset cobalamin (cbl) C deficiency,also named as combined methylmalonic acidemia and homocystinemia, cblC type. Methods We reviewed 26 late-onset cblC deficiency patients diagnosed in Qilu Hospital, Shandong University from 2012 to 2017 and analysed the clinical, biochemistry, neuroimaging, follow-up and MMACHC gene data. Results Among the 26 patients, male:female ratio is 11:15, with the age of diagnosis from 4 to 39 years and sibling comorbidity in 4 families. The clinical manifestaions of nervous system included spastic paraplegia,mental and behavior disorder,intelectual decline,epilepsy,ataxia,dystonia and peripheral neuropathy. There were four cases with proteinuria at onset. At first visit, the levels of serum total homocystinuria of all patients were elevated, from 61.4 to 193.4μmol/Lwith methylmalonic acidemia. The neuroimaging data of the 26 cases showed 11 with cerebral atrophy, 10 with thoracic spinal cord atrophy, five with brain parenchymal lesions, three with longitudinal myelopathy which were reversible in follow-up, one with syringomyelia, one with multiple cerebral artery stenosis. In all the cases, cobalamins were supplied parenterally and folate, betaine, L-carnitine, vitamin B6 were supplied orally during acute metabolic crisis, and the symptoms of acute encephalopathy disappeared but symptoms of spastic paraplegia had little improvement. In chronic stage, frequency of intramuscular injection of hydroxocobalamine could be decreased while the index can still be improved. All the 26 cases had definite mutations in MMACHC gene, the most common mutations of which were found to be c.482G>A(15/52) and c. 609G>A(13/52). Conclusions Homocystine is the important biomarker for cblC deficiency. Once diagnosed, parenteral hydroxocobalamin and oral betaine should be supplied for a lifetime with good prognosis. The most common mutations of MMACHC gene in our cases are c. 482G>A and c. 609G>A missense mutations.
6.Establishment and Application of Content Determination Method for 7 Elements in Gelatin Hollow Capsule

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for improving the quality of Gelatin hollow capsule. METHODS:Atomic fluo-rescence spectrometry was used to determine the contents of Hg,As in Gelatin hollow capsule;graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry was used to determine the contents of Cr,Pb,Cd;flame atomic absorption spectrometry was used to determine the contents of Cu,Zn;and the contents of 7 elements in 48 batches of commercially available Gelatin hollow capsule were deter-mined. RESULTS:Each element showed good linear relationship in each mass concentration range(Cr,Pb,Cd,As and Hg were respectively 0-10,0-20,0-1.5,0-10,0-1.0μg/L;Cu and Zn were 0-1.8 mg/L)(r≥0.9969). The detection limits of Cr,Pb,Cd, Cu,Zn,Hg and As were 0.065,0.007,0.011,0.004,0.010,0.108,0.004 μg/L,respectively. RSDs of precision tests were no more than 2.5%(n=6);RSDs of reproducibility tests were no more than 7.5%(n=6);average recoveries ranged in 88.6%-109.5%(RSD≤6.7%,n=6). The contents of 7 elements in the 48 batches of samples were in line with the relevant provi-sions in Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2015 edition,part 4)and pharmacopoeia or standards in other countries or organizations. CON-CLUSIONS:The method shows high sensitivity,high precision with accurate and reliable results,and can be used for the content determination of Cr,Pb,Cd,Cu,Zn,Hg and As in Gelatin hollow capsule. The 48 batches of Gelatin hollow capsule from differ-ent manufacturers have good quality.
