Objective To investigate the relationship between vessel cancer embolus with other clinicopathological features and tumor tissue KRAS gene mutation in the patients with colorectal cancer and its significance to colorectal cancer prognosis. Methods The postoperative clinicopathological data in 182 patients with colorectal cancer during 2011-2014 were retrospectively analyzed and the patients were followed up.Results Forty-five cases showed vessel cancer embolus positive of colorectal cancer, which had the rrelationship with the lymph node metastasis, pathological differentiation degree, liver metastasis, nerve infiltration and increase of CEA and CA199 levels, while had no relationship with the age, sex, tumor size, infiltration depth and pathological type. The 3-year survival rate was 51.1% in the vessel cancer embolus positive group, which was significantly lower than 61.3% in the negative group (P<0.05).However,the 3-year survival rate had no statistically significant difference between the vessel cancer embolus positive complicating KRAS gene mutation group and the vessel cancer embolus positive group(P>0.05).Conclusion Vessel cancer embolus decreases the 3-year survival rate and affects the prognosis in the patients with colorectal cancer. The survival rate in complicating KRAS gene mutation is similar.

The ancient books on traditional Chinese medicine are mainly covered in the comprehensive bibliogra-phies and special bibliographies of traditional Chinese medicine in the past ages.Their classification was thus de-scribed in the Seven-Classification System, Four-Classification System, Twelve-Classification System,Bibliogra-phy of medical collection and General Bibliography of ancient books on traditional Chinese medicine, followed by an analysis of the classification systems of ancient books on traditional Chinese medicine in the past ages and their evo-lution, which helps to search the medical literature from the vast ancient books according to their classification.

Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) is causally related to Kaposi's sarcoma (KS),primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) and a proportion of cases of multicentric Castleman's disease (MCD). The ORF73 protein was cloned into pQE80L-orf73 and expressed in E.coli and purified. The expressed recombinant ORF73 was identified by sodium dodecyl sulfatepolyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). A protein of about 27 kDa was expressed as expected. Western Blotting showed that the purified recombinant ORF73 reacted with KSHV positive serum. The immunogenicity of the recombinant ORF73 was further analysed by ELISA and the optimal conditions were determined. The ORF73 ELISA was used to compare the KSHV seroprevalence between Hubei and Xinjiang Han people. The Hart people in Xinjiang have significantly higher KSHV seroprevalence than their counterparts in Hubei (6.7% vs 2.9%, P = 0.005).

Object Under the premise of protecting periodicals published in Republic of China, these periodicals were processed with digitalization for the purpose of being utilized in a easy way. Methods Oracle 9i database software was used to establish database table structure. Periodicals published in Republic of China were selected, periodicals pictures were processed and the literature subjects were indexed before databases retrieval system of these periodicals was made and published. Results A full text data base retrieval system containing 20 kinds of periodicals published in Republic of China was established, to provide both retrieval from multi-angles and picture browsing of the full text. Conclusion Digitalization technique is a way of reproducible protection and utilization of periodicals published in Republic of China.

The ORFK8.1 of Kaposi's sarcoma associated-herpesvirus (KSHV) was expressed in a prokaryotic expression system. The expression of recombinant E.coli containing pQE-80L-orf K8.1 was induced by isopropyl-b-D-thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG). The fusion protein was purified by chromatyography. The expressed protein and its purified product were identified by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel eletrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). SDS-PAGE showed that a protein of 26 kDa was visualized as expected. A western blot assay was established to analyze the immunogenicity of purified recombinant 0RFK8.1 protein. The optimal condition of the recombinant ORFK8.1 ELISA assay was confirmed: the concentration of antigen was 5 ug/mL, the dilution of serum was 1:200. We used the ELISA method to investigate the recombinant ORF K8.1 protein's specificity, the data showed that the specificity of ORF K8.1 to detect KSHV was 100%. At the same time, 560 sera samples from Hubei province were detected by using ORFK8.1 ELISA to investigate KSHV seroprevalence in this region. The KSHV seroprevalence in Hubei province is shown to be 6.80%.

Objective To evaluate the feasibility of negative pressure suction enteroscopy for intestinal examination. Methods The negative pressure suction enteroscopy was first applied to examine 20 detached small intestines from pigs to explore a suitable work pressure and to detect possible intestinal damages. The procedure was then applied in living pigs to evaluate the feasibility and to observe possible adverse reactions in a 2-week follow-up.Resnlts The absolute working pressure of the negative pressure suction enteroscopy should be higher than 0.06 Mpa.The procedures were successfully completed in all 20 pig small intestines in 40 + 20 min. There was no tissue damage in the intestinal wall according to histological findings.Local glide occurred in living pig examination at 0.06 Mpa,and it disappeared when the absolute value was higher than 1.00 Mpa.The procedure was completed in 20 living pigs in 60 ± 20 min.Histological findings showed complete tissue structure, clear villi and complete submucous and muscular tissue. All pigs could take food at recovery from anaesthesia.18 had bowel movement on the 2nd day after the operation, and the 2 others recovered on the 3rd day.No abdominal distension, hematochezia,or constipation was observed in 2-week follow-up.Food intake, activity, sleep, urination and defecation were all normal. Conclusion The negative pressure suction enteroscopy is effective and safe for small intestine examination, and is of good prospect.
