Zinc deficient model was made by feeding zinc deficient rations to mice. Their general appearance, body weight, organ body weight ratio, macroph-age (M?) and intestinal mucosal epithelium were observed. Rations intake of these Zn deficient mice decreased 2 weeks later. There was prominent difference in body weight between the Zn deficient (n = 24) and the control group (n =11), and the difference was more prominent 4 weeks later. The mortality of the mice in Zn dificient group was 29.17% while all of the control mice were alive. Weight of liver, spleen, kidney, adrenal glands thymus and the oryan body weight ratio of the thymus of Zn deficient mice decreased markedly. The superficial structure of M? in the Zn deficient group tended to be simplified, the pseudopodium tended to be decreased and short. Objective To investigate the effects of pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) on the depression and exercises capacity and pulmonary function in elderly patients with stable moderate-to-severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods 38 participants [(68.01 ± 5.27) years old; moderate 28, severe 10] were en-rolled in a 6-month PR program with exercise training. Subjects measurements were made of the Epidemiologic Studies Depression scale (CES-D), 6-minute walk test (6MWT) and pulmonary function. Result The CES-D Scores before and after PR were 23.94 ± 4.86 vs. 14.66 ± 2.47, P = 0.000; 6 MWT and the percent of the predicted FEV1 before and after PR were (353.6 ± 27.90)m vs. (276.8 ± 30.95)m, P = 0.000, 58.09 ± 8.77 vs. 58.34 ± 7.94, P > 0.05. CES-D scores and exercise capacity improved after PR. But PR contributes nothing to the improvement of pulmonary function. Conclusion Although the PR improves the depression and exercise capacity in elderly patients with stable moderate-to-severe COPD , no statistically significant correlation was ob-served between depression scores and 6MWD and the percent of the predicted FEV1.

Traditional tongue diagnosis is a vital basis of syndrome differentiation in TCM. The development of computer technology has opened up a new path to the tongue diagnosis modernization. The purpose of applying modernized tongue diagnosis into clinical research is for providing objective basis for diagnosis, TCM syndrome differentiation, evaluation of illness condition and efficacy evaluation. This article analyzed the application of modernized tongue diagnosis in clinical research in recent years, summarized the application status and existing problems of applying tongue color, texture, shape, indentation, sublingual veins, microcirculation, and spectrum analytical techniques into the clinical research, with a purpose to provide references for further research on modernized tongue diagnosis.

Objective To study the clinical anesthetic effect of butorphanol combined with propofol in painless gastroscopy. Methods 90 patientswith stomachache check were randomly divided into observation group and control group,45 cases each. The observation group was received butorphanol combined with propofol and the control group were treated with fentanyl combined with propofol. The heart rate of pa-tients before anesthesia,during checking and conscious,the change of blood pressure and oxygen saturation,respiratory depression and anes-thetic effect were analyzed. Results The heart rate,blood pressure and oxygen saturation of two groups after treatment were decreased,the difference was not statistically significant(P>0. 05). The total volume of propofol and respiratory depression between the two groups were compared,the differences were statistically significant(P<0. 05). Conclusion Butorphanol combind with propofol in painless gastroscopy with long anesthesia time and low respiratory depression,which was worthy of promotion.

OBJECTIVE:To study the preparation and quality control of compound doxepin hydrochloride cream.METHO DS:The compound cream was prepared with doxepin hydrochloride and triamcinolone acetonide,and the contents were determinated by UV-spectrophotometry and HPLC respectively.RESULTS:The calibration curves were linear in the range of the concentrations of the experiment respectively,r=0.9999.CONCLUSION:The method is simple,accurate and suitable for the quality control of this preparation.

Objective:To investigate the effects of Chinese medicine prescriptions Gancaofuzi-tang and Tongbi-fang on adjusting the dynamic expression of related cytokines and further ameliorating the histopathology of synovitis in rats with Ⅱ collagen induced arthritis(CIA).Methods:The experimental Wistar rat model of CIA was set up successfully.The rats divided into five groups in random: normal(N),Gancaofuzi-tang treatment(GF),Tongbi-fang treatment(TB),Puwei western medicine treatment(PW) and model control(C).The different medicine was affused into stomach 1.5 ml/rat,once daily.The rats were sacrificed after 6 weeks of medicine administration.Foot swelling degrees of the rats were measured every other day,and then calculate swelling rates.Getting blood after 3 weeks of treatment from rat's innercanthus to detect the level of serum Sialic Acid(SA) and the level of serum IL-2 and TNF-? by ELISA.The synovial histopathology was observed with HE staining under optical microscope.Results:Gancaofuzi-tang and Tongbi-fang significantly decreased swelling rate of joints in CIA rats.The pathology of synovisl tissues was markedly ameliorated.After administration for 3 weeks,the levels of serum SA,IL-2 and TNF-? of the rats in GF and TB groups were significantly decreased compared with the control.Continuous administration for 6 weeks,the levels of the targets in GF and TB rats reached to near the normal level.Conclusion:All the results demonstrate that Gancaofuzi-tang and Tongbi-fang play anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory roles in CIA rats through inhibiting activation of some inflammatory mediators,adjusting related cytokines expression,then eliminating the joint swelling and improving synovitis pathology,which might be looked as immune suppression effects similar to NSAID medicine.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the general patterns and characteristics of the adverse drug reactions(ADR)induced by acyclovir.METHODS:52 acyclovir-induced ADR reports(60 cases)published in China Hospital Knowledge Database from 1994 to 2006 was analyzed statistically.RESULTS:The ADR induced by acyclovir were more often occurred in patietns aged from 31 to 60,with 41.67% appearing within 10～60 min after drug use.The clinical presentation was complex and diverse,which involved different systems and organs,predominantly the lesion of renal function.CONCLUSION:Clinician and pharmacists should attach great importance to Acyclovir-induced ADR in clinical practice and stick to rational drug use.
