OBJECTIVE To investigate the infection condition and associated causative factors in our hospital in order to improve the methods of monitoring,preventing and controlling infection.METHODS All patients admitted in 24 hours were investigated.including record review and patient examination.Participants mainly consisted of the specialized staff,with assistant administrative staff for hospital infection.The investigating table was filled for record review and patient examination respectively.Statistical analysis was performed.RESULTS 119 of the 123 hospitalized patients were investigated(96.8%).The current rate for hospital infection was 6.7%.The most infected site was respiratory tract.Antibiotics was used in 39.5% of the patients.CONCLUSIONS The current method can be used for investigating the present state of hospital infection.Based on the investigation,objective monitoring,intensified specimens detection,and reasonable antibiotics administration can be performed to decrease the incidence of hospital infection.

BACKGROUND: The nucleus pulposus tissue engineering is regarded as an ideal method in repairing intervertebral disc degeneration. However, the resource of nucleus pulposus cells is limited, so seed cell plays a vital role in nucleus pulposus (NP) tissue engineering. OBJECTIVE: To verify whether adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) can differentiate into NP-like cells induced by three-dimensional scaffold. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: An in vitro observation based on cell-materials level was performed at the Orthopaedic Research Institute, General Hospital of Beijing Military Area Command of Chinese PLA from July to December 2008. MATERIALS: Three Japanese big-eared rabbits with 3-months old were provided by Vital River Laboratory Animal Technology Co., Ltd., and the medical chitosan was purchased from Golden-shell Biochemical Co., Ltd. METHODS: The ADSCs were isolated from the rabbit adipose and then subcultured with collagenase digestion. The second ADSCs were prepared 50 uL cell suspension (5×10~6 cells), and mixed with 150 uL chitosan-alginate (C/A) and cultured in a12-well plate for 20 minutes in room temperature to obtain C/A gel. The experiment divided into 3 groups, in the control group, 2 mL DMEM containing 10% fetal bovine serum was added; DMEM containing bovine serum albumin, transforming growth factor-1 (TGF), hexadecadrol, vitamin C, bone morphogenetic protein-7,1% ITS was added, and then cultured with 2% O_2 or 20% O_2. All the samples were placed in incubator at a humidified atmosphere of 5% O_2 at 37 V for 21 days. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Histomorphological observation; levels of proteoglycan, as well as type II collagen. RESULTS: The scanning electron microscopy showed that ADSCs grew well on the chitosan-alginate scaffolds, which was positive to oil-O staining and Alcian blue staining. More proteoglycan was produced. With time increasing, there was no significant change in the proteoglycan content and type II collagen in the control group. The content of proteoglycan and collagen type II was higher in the induced group, which had difference to the control group (P < 0.001, P < 0.05). Meantime, the expression of collagen type II and proteoglycan was greater in hypoxia-induced group than that of normoxia-induced group (P<0.05, P<0.01). CONCLUSION: Rabbit ADSCs growing on the scaffolds of chitosan-alginate gel may differentiate towards NP-like cells under certain conditions, especially better under hypoxia state.

Objective To understand the training status and learning requirement of nursing personnel for the aged from the perspective of nursing targets and their relatives in the city of Nanjing.Methods The questionnaire involved six categories,80 questionnaires were sent out,57 of them were recollected.The effective recovery rate was 71.3％(57/80).All the data were input into Excel to do statistical analysis.Results The nursing personnel did not fully grasp the skills of transfusion nursing and muscle injection [45.6％(26/57) and 33.3％(19/57)] in the basic theory of basic care,knowledge and skills from the perspective of nursing targets and their relatives.The Chinese medicine nursing skills such as scrapping [needing very much 40.4％ (23/57)] and burying seeds [needing very much 40.4％ (23/57)] in the ear acupuncture point were also needed to be enhanced.A total of 75.4％ (43/57) of respondents chose online examination as the way of nursing personnel's evaluation.Conclusions Nursing personnel are in great need of on-job professional training.

Objective To analyse the personality characteristics of medical undergraduate and graduate newcomers. Methods Cattell 16 Personality Factor Questionnaires (16PF) were employed to assess the personality of 675 undergraduate newcomers (306 males and 369 females) and 155 graduate newcomers (76 males and 79 females),and the results were compared with the established findings of the country. Objective To analyze the influence of adenovirus latent infection on gamma-glutamylcysteine systhetase(γ-GCS) in rat alveolar epithelial cells. Methods The rat alveolar epithelial cells were stably transfected with the plasmid pE1Aneo and control plasmid. Glutathione(GSH) contents, the activity of γ-GCS were detected in oxidant stress. Then the leuel of protein expression, mRNA expression, and promoter transcriptional activity of glutamate-cysteine ligase catalytic subunit(GCLC) were further detected. Results GSH contents decreased because of adenovirus E1A expression in oxidant stress. E1A repressed the expression and activity of γ-GCS, messenger RNA expression, and promoter transcriptional activity of GCLC. Conclusion Adenovirus E1A decreased the activity of γ-GCS probably by repressed promoter transcriptional activity of GCLC. As a result, GSH contents were downregulated in oxidant stress. Thus Adenovirus latent infection amplified the oxidant/antioxidant imbalance in rat alveolar epithelial cells in oxidants stress, which may be an important mechanism of COPD.

Objective To compare internet addiction disorders' family cohesion and their family educa-tion style, and to help prevent internet addiction disorder and interference treatment in families with internet addic-tion disorder. Methods Ninety adolescents with internet addiction disorder were investigated as the experimental group and one hundred normal adolescents as the control group. Questionnaire and in-depth interview was used to collect data,and the data was analyzed with SPSS 10.0. Results Average scores of control group were significant higher than those of experimental group in family cohesion ((51.75±8.86) vs (38.89±12.17), P<0.01). Av-erage scores of control group were significant higher than these of experimental group in family education style ((50.65±7.66) vs (41.44±10.84), P < 0.01). Average scores of experimental group were significant higher than those of control group in dissatisfaction of family cohesion and family education style ((20.87±4.66) vs (12.33±7.88); (23.30±11.06) vs (14.28±7.29), P < 0.01). Conclusion The adolescents with internet addiction disorder have low family cohesion and high dissatisfaction of family education style,wherefore during in-ternet addiction family intervention and prevention, it should pay particular attention to cultivating close and harmo-nious relations among families members. In aspect of family education, parents should pay special attention to chil-dren's healthy personality development, and guide their children to actively take part in social practice and train-ing.

Objective To explore the relationship of personality and coping style between parents and male inpatients with internet addiction disorder. Methods 51 male inpatients with internet addiction disorder and their parents were investigated with Cattell 16PF and Coping Style Questionnaire to evaluate their personality and coping style. All data were analyzed by partial correlate analysis. Results Multi-factors of 16PF( warmth, reasoning, emotional stability, dominance, vigilance, sensitivity, abstractedness, privateness, openness to change, perfectionism, apprehension, tension ) of male inpatients were significantly correlated with father' s ( r = 0.72 ～ 0. 85 or - 0. 71 ～ - 0.93 ) or mother' s 16PF( r = 0.73 ～ 0.92 or - 0. 72 ～ - 0.81 ), bu+ non of those factors corrected with the same factor of parental. Male inpatients' coping style did not corrected with father' s, but their problem sloving, rationalization and self-accusation corrected with mother's seeking support, rationalization and avoidance respectively. Conclusion The personality of male inpatients with internet addiction disorder is affected by parental personality, but under the impact of internet addiction disorder, this kind of influence is weakened. In coping style, the father' s influence is far weaker than the mother' s, suggesting that there is father function flaw during the process of those inpatients growing up.

Objective To establish a real-time fluorescence quantitative methylation assay to investigate the methylation status of GSH-sulphur-transferase P1(GSTP1) gene promoter region in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and to investigate whether which can be used as the early diagnostic indicator of HCC .Methods Ninety-five serum samples were collected from 40 patients with HCC ,30 patients with liver cirrhosis and 25 individuals with healthy physical examination as controls .The methylation level of GSTP1 gene in these serum samples were quantitatively determined by using the real-time fluorescence quantitative methylated spe-cific PCR technique .The receiver-operation characteristic(ROC) curves were adopted to evaluate its diagnostic value for HCC .Re-sults The methylation quantitative level of GSTP1 gene in HCC serum was significantly higher than that in the healthy controls (P<0 .05) .The ROC curve analysis demonstrated that the methylation quantitative analysis of GSTP1 gene could efficiently distin-guish HCC and cirrhosis from healthy controls (AUC=0 .8641) .With the methylation rate of 2% as the critical value for diagno-sing HCC ,its diagnostic specificity was 87 .5% ,the sensitivity was 69 .6% ;the combination detection of serum GSTP1 gene methy-lation and serum AFP could increase the detection rate of HCC to 75% .Conclusion The real-time fluorescence quantitative methyl-ation assay can accurately quantify the methylation level of serum GSTP1 gene ,which has certain application value for the early di-agnosis of HCC .

AIM:To observe the influence of adenovirus latent infection on the oxidant/antioxidant balance in rat alveolar epithelial cells.METHODS:The rat alveolar epithelial cells were stably transfected with the plasmid pE1Aneo and control plasmid pneo.GSH and MDA contents,the activities of major anti-oxidative enzymes including SOD,CAT,GPx,GST and ?-GCS were detected in oxidant stress.RESULTS:Adenovirus E1A expression repressed the activity of ?-GCS,and decreased GSH contents in oxidant stress.As a result,the activity of GPx and GST was decreased.The contents of MDA maintained high in oxidant stress.CONCLUSION:Adenovirus latent infection amplifies the oxidant/antioxidant imbalance in rat alveolar epithelial cells in oxidants stress,and adenovirus E1A protein decreases the activity of ?-GCS,which plays an important role in this process.
