Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2006;0(08):-
OBJECTIVE To decrease the infection rate in intensive care unit(ICU) effectively. METHODS To analyze the reason of infection in ICU,such as the infection of respiratory tract, the infection of urinary system, the vascular infection after therapy, and the infection of alimentary tract, and to raise the control measure of nursing. RESULTS To pay attention to the arrangement and setting in ICU,the implementation of the regulation of nursing strictly, the intravascular therapy, the correct realizing of nursing procedure, and the reinforcement of nursing management,in order to keep the low infection rate. CONCLUSIONS All nursing measure raised/above is very useful for the hospital infection control in ICU.

Chinese Journal of Medical Library and Information Science 2017;26(7):31-35
Medical imaging plays a more important role in diagnosis and treatment of diseases with the rapid development of big data technologies and hospital information systems. It is thus quite necessary to develop the effective and accurate medical imaging retrieval systems. The key techniques for text-based, contents-based and semantic-based medical imaging retrieval methods were thus elaborated and analyzed with the prospects put forward for the future development direction of medical imaging retrieval techniques.

Objective To investigate the effect of caffeine and cisplatin induced apoptosis of osteosarcoma cell line(OS-732), and to explore the potential mechanism of caffeine enhancing cytotoxic effect of cisplatin in osteosarcoma cell line. Methods The OS-732 cell line was cultured for 72 hours; treated with caffeine, cisplatin and caffeine combined with cisplatin for 72 hours respectively, the apoptosis rates of OS-732 cell line were analysed by flow cytometry. Mitochondrial transmembranous potentials were measured by cellular rhodamine 123 stain on flow cytometry. Apoptosis was assessed by electron microscope at 80 kV. Results The OS-732 cell line was cultured for 72 hours; treated with caffeine (5.0 mmol/L ), cisplatin (10.0 ?g/ml ) and caffeine (5.0 mmol/L ) combined with cisplatin (10.0 ?g/ml) for 72 hours respectively. The apoptosis rates were 2.50%, 10.62%, 31.62% and 57.44% respectively. The percentage of decline of mitochondrial transmembranous potentials were 8.12%, 26.45%, 17.82% and 38.26% respectively. Electron microscope revealed the characteristic apoptosis alterations, such as shrinking cellular chromatin condensation, crescent nucleus, cytoplasmic vacuoles and so on. Conclusion Caffeine and cisplatin can induce apoptosis of osteosarcoma cell line(OS-732), while the cell line treated with caffeine and cisplatin simultaneously, the apoptosis rate was increased obviously. The induction of apoptosis of osteosarcoma cell line by caffeine may be one of potential mechanism enhancing cytotoxic effect of cisplatin in osteosarcoma cell line.

OBJECTIVE:To provide the information of drug-use in SARS for reference.METHODS:123medical charts of inpatients from April20,2003to May31,2003were analyzed, including the kinds and the cost of drugs that have been used. The frequency of drug-use and DUI were calculated from DDD of drugs. The kinds and costs of drugs used for930employees were also analyzed. The drug cost per employee was compared with that per inpatient.RESULTS:4kinds of drugs were abused. The dosage and usage of the other drugs were appropriate.17kinds of main drugs and2kinds of decoctions prepared by our hospital have been used to inpatients, which costed559440yuans in all,4548.29yuans per inpatient.While14kinds of drugs and one kind of decoction against SARS were used to employees, which costed about500000yuans in all,537.6yuans per employee.CONCLUSION:SARS is still an unknown disease.Although most of the dosage and usage of drugs were appropriate in prevention and treatment of SARS,whether the drugs should be used or not is open to question.

Objective To investigate the effect of dexmedetomidine (Dex) on the apoptosis and respiratory burst of human polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) in vitro. Methods The peripheral venous blood was collected from healthy volunteers. Isolation of PMN was performed by using the discontinuous plasma-Percoll gradient technique. PMN was randomLy divided into four groups: control group and three different concentrations of Dex (1 ng/mL,10 ng/mL,100 ng/mL) groups. PMN was cultured in enriched RPMI-1640 media at 2 × 106/mL for 24 h. The caspase-3 activity, apoptosis rate and respiratory burst of PMN were detected at 2 and 24 h. Results Compared with the control group, the PMN which was treated with three different concentrations of Dex showed no significant difference in caspase-3 activity, apoptosis rate and respiratory burst of PMN after 2 h of incubation. Compared with the control group, 1 ng/mL concentration of Dex did not affect the caspase-3 activity, apoptosis and respiratory burst of PMN cultured for 24 h. However, 10 ng/mL and 100 ng/mL concentrations of Dex promoted the caspase-3 activity, increased apoptosis rate and reduced the respiratory burst of PMN after 24 h of incubation. Compared with 10 ng/mL Dex group, 100 ng/mL concentrations of Dex promoted the caspase-3 activity, increased apoptosis rate and reduced the respiratory burst of PMN after 24 h of incutation. Conclusion Clinically relevant concentration of Dex does not affect apoptosis and respiratory burst of PMN, while high concentration of dexmedetomidine can induce apoptosis of PMN.

China Oncology 2001;0(02):-
Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and adverse effects of letrozole for postmenopausal breast cancer patients with bone raetastases. Methods: Thity-six breast cancer patients with bone metstases received 2. 5 mg tablet letrozole every day. for at least two months. Results: In the 36 patients who were evaluable for efficacy and toxicity, the complete response rate (CR) , partial response rate ( PR) , disease stabilization rate ( SD) and progressive disease rate ( PD) were respectively 5.5% , 22. 2% , 55. 5% and 16. 6% . The clinical benefit rate ( CR + PR + SD ≥ 6 months ) was 58. 3% (21/36) with 11 patients (30. 5%) having SD for at least 6 months . Conclusions: Letrozole is a well tolerated agent with reasonable efficacy but low toxicity for postmenopausal breast cancer patients with bone metastases.
