1.Current study on function of corneal lymphangiogenesis

As incoming arcs of immune response,corneal lymphangiogenesis is closely related to the pathogenesis of many diseases.The relationship between corneal lymphangiogenesis and angiogenesis has been the hotspot.Corneal lymphangiogenesis and angiogenesis destroy the corneal immune privilege mechanism together.It is the urgent problem to study the mechanism of corneal lymphangiogenesis and investigate the treatment of related diseases.This paper reviewed the relation ship among corneal lymphangiogenesis,infection,complications of corneal transplantation,xerophthalmia and pterygium in order to provide theoretical basis for clinical treatment of relevant eye diseases.
2.The antiinflammatory effects of an adenosine

Adenosine is an endogenous purine uncleoside released by cells as part of the normal metablic mechinary. During inflammation, massive ATP degradation increases the local adenosine concentration to the micromolar range, at the range, adenosine extert potent antiinflammatory rale. In vivo or in vitro experiments, the addition exogenious adenosine, its analogues and inhibition of its degradation attenuate injury of animal models of inflammation. Antiinflammatory mechinasms involve in;(1)Adenosine inhibites neutrophil function in vitro, including chemotaxiz, adhesion, phogocytosis, and oxygen radical generation. (2) Decrease the expression of collagenase, and reduce the amount of collagenase. (3)Blocking neutrophil adhesion to the endothelium mediated by L-selectin and ftrEategrin. (4)inhibition activated humanmonocytes and macrophage secreting cytokins. (5) Adenosine enhances IL-10 secretion by human monocytes. (6)inhibition of immune response and so on. Relation with nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSALDs) includes:(1)MTX and SASP inhibit the activity of 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxam-ide ribonucleotide (AICAR) transformylase resulting in increased local adenosine concentraton. (2) Azathioprine and its potential metabolite inhibits adenosine kinase, diminish AMP formation by adenosine. In conclusion, the existance of a novel class of antiinflammatory agents, affects adenosine metabolism and may be a useful antiinflammatory drug as well.

There are necessities to the legislation of new rural area cooperative medical system as it impelled nationwide.For it is the system that guarantees peasants' basic medical rights and turns out to be part of China's social security.The key of the system construction is its legislation aspect.The first thing to consider is the necessity and feasibility of its legislation.Then comes to its legislative principles from the standpoint of legislative ethics,which is determined by its particularity that it faces to a majority of peasants concerning their public interest and so on.

5.Development of Chinese Version of QLQ-STO22

Objectives:To translate the English version of Quality of Life Questionnaire of Stomach 22 into Chinese,and to test the reliability and validity of the Chinese Version of QLQ-STO22.Methods:From 1st June to 31st December,2003,140 patients with gastric cancer were sampled as study participants in three hospitals using cluster sampling method.All participants were interviewed with QLQ-STO22 Chinese version by the investigators who were trained in advance.Results:Nearly all ICCs of scales of STO22 were above 0.75;the split-half reliability coefficient is 0.78 and the Cronbach'a coefficient is 0.80.These results proved that the questionnaires had good test-retest reliability,split-half reliability and internal consistency.Three common factors were extracted by factor analysis,which ccould account for more than 60% of total variance and factor loads of the three common factors were above 0.5 in related items.Conclusion:QLQ-STO22 has good reliability and validity,which is available for the study of life quality among Chinese gastric cancer patients.
6.Mutational Screening of Zuelacmycin-producing Strain RL-2

In this research, the zuelacmycin-producing strain Streptomyces venezuelaevar. qinlingensis RL-2 was used as original strain, the spore suspension of which was induced by UV, LiCl and the compound treatmeat (UV+LiCl) respectively. The zuelacmycin-high-yield strain UVL-108 was obtained by the treatment that the exposure time under UV irradition was 45 s and the concentration of LiCl was 0.4%. The heredity characters of mutant UVL-108 were stable in succesive six generations. The antibacterial activity and the fermentation titer of mutant UVL-108 were determinded by bidirectioned culture and mycelial linear growth respectively. The results demonstrated the antibaterial activity of mutant UVL-108 was improved by 77%, and the relative toxicity of fermentation to Phyricularia grisea was improved by two times compared with the original strain.
7.Screening and Identification of a New Elastase-producing Strain

The study provide a theoretical basis for the industrial production of a elastase-high-yield strain which was isolated from the straw,and the selected strain was identified. The screening strategy included casein(skim milk) plate selecting and elastin(beef tendon) re-screening. And then,the morphological,physiological and biochemical characteristics as well as 16S rRNA sequence homology of the selected strain were studied. Finally,the strain LSF-97 which had a excellent decomposing ability to beef tendon was obtained. The results showed that the strain LSF-97 is relative to the Bacillus pumilus with 100 % similar in sequence under the phylogenetic tree,the morphological and physiological and biochemical characteristics are also consistent with pattern of bacteria. So it was identified as Bacillus pumilus.
