2.Cross-platform digital assessment forms for evaluating surgical skills.
Journal of Educational Evaluation for Health Professions 2015;12(1):13-
A variety of structured assessment tools for use in surgical training have been reported, but extant assessment tools often employ paper-based rating forms. Digital assessment forms for evaluating surgical skills could potentially offer advantages over paper-based forms, especially in complex assessment situations. In this paper, we report on the development of cross-platform digital assessment forms for use with multiple raters in order to facilitate the automatic processing of surgical skills assessments that include structured ratings. The FileMaker 13 platform was used to create a database containing the digital assessment forms, because this software has cross-platform functionality on both desktop computers and handheld devices. The database is hosted online, and the rating forms can therefore also be accessed through most modern web browsers. Cross-platform digital assessment forms were developed for the rating of surgical skills. The database platform used in this study was reasonably priced, intuitive for the user, and flexible. The forms have been provided online as free downloads that may serve as the basis for further development or as inspiration for future efforts. In conclusion, digital assessment forms can be used for the structured rating of surgical skills and have the potential to be especially useful in complex assessment situations with multiple raters, repeated assessments in various times and locations, and situations requiring substantial subsequent data processing or complex score calculations.

Journal of Korean Foot and Ankle Society 2008;12(2):145-149
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to determine the results of conservative treatment of osteochondral lesion of talus (OLT). This study would be helpful to determine the treatment methods for OLT patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We have established 69 cases of osteochondral lesion of talus, from December 2004 to June 2006 in a period of 18 months. Symptoms were confirmed through survey and a medical examination by interviewing patients. Diagnosis was made through physical examination, simple radiography and MRI. AOFAS score of all the patients were measured. When the patients did not get improved with conservative treatment, surgical operation was done. RESULTS: 27 out of the 69 patients were treated using conservative treatment. Initial AOFAS scored was 66.37+/-8.89 points. After treatment, AOFAS scores had increased to 83.78+/-8.48 points. In cases of surgery, AOFAS scores had increased from 64.17+/-13.43 points preoperatively to 80.45+/-8.67 points. CONCLUSION: 60% of conservative treatment was useless in treating OLT patients. Surgical operation is still needed to be performed. Therefore, treatment should be done with sufficient understanding of the results.

We report a rare case of primary tracheal malignent melanoma documented by careful clinical examination. Differentiation between primary and metastatic malignant melanoma is very difficult. We conclude that this tracheal tumor is a primary malignant melanoma based on characteristic pathologic features and the exclusion of the possibility of spontaneous regression of the primary site by patient's history and physical examination.

We report a case of torsion of a benign cyst arising from the parietal layer of the tunica vaginalis, which presented on an acute scrotum. Physical examination revealed a tender swelling of the left hemiscrotum. Surgical, we happened to find torsion of a cyst originating from the parietal layer of the tunica vaginalis. The pedicle of the cyst was twisted about 360 degrees.

7.The study of improving Pignet index for the physical power assessment of Vietnamese adults
Journal of Medical Research 2005;33(1):43-49
Pignet index = height (cm) – [weight (kg) + average thoracic circumference (cm)]. This is an advantageous index that has been used widely not only in studying but also in evaluating physical power. However, Pignet index is not yet an ideal index; it should be improved to measure physical power more accurately. Improved Pignet (Pignet-CT) = height (cm) – [weight (kg) + normal thoracic circumference (cm) + right calf circumference (cm)] + 50. This Pignet-CT index has been established by investigating 7955 Vietnamese (3755 male, 4210 female) aged over 16 years old. It has been shown that Pignet-CT index can evaluate physical power more exactly than Pignet index.

8.Realization the value of improved Pignet index in estimating the physical of Vietnamese adults
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;494(11):8-11
Study on 7955 people (3755 men, 4210 women) in Ha Noi city, Nam Ha, Hai Hung, Ha Bac and Ha Tay provinces and students of Ha Noi Medical College, Ha Noi Teacher's Collage and Ha Noi Agricultural Collage. The period of collecting data was 5 years from 1992 to 1997. In all age groups of two sexes, the circle of right legs were bigger than that in left legs. The circle of right legs had closely correlation and direct propertional with the lean mass of the body in all age groups of two sexes. The values of Pignet-C.T in two sexes had different within 3 first age groups which were significantly. On the math and reality study showed that: Pignet-C.T is the physical estimated index more exactly than Pignet.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 2001;39(11):1340-1342
Cutis verticis gyrata(CVG) is a descriptive term for a condition of the scalp in which deep furrows and convolutions are seen that resemble the outer surface of the cerebrum. The possible etiologies may be categorized as primary essential, primary nonessential, and secondary cutis verticis gyrata. This is based on history, physical examination, and histologic criteria with or without laboratory examinations. Herein we reported a case of primary essential cutis verticis gyrata with no associated disorders.
