Objective To explore the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of male breast cancer. Methods The clinical data of 17 male patients with breast cancer were analyzed retrospectively. Results The average age of these 17 patients was 59.6 years. In these 17 male cases, the breast cancer in 3 cases was stageⅠ,in 5 cases stageⅡ,in 7 cases stage Ⅲ,and in 2 cases stage Ⅳ.The major pathological type was typical invasive ductal carcinoma. The breast cancer positive rates of estrogen receptor was 82.4 % and progestogen receptor(PR) was 72.5 %.All of these cases were treated by radical operation and postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy, endocrine therapy and(or) chemotherapy. One patient was lost to follow-up,2 died of non-tumor disease 8 months and 3 years after operation, respectively, and the other 14 have survived for 1-12 years after operation. Conclusions Male breast cancer is an uncommon disease, age of onset is more advanced, and the misdiagnostic rate is high.Tamoxifen is the first choice of hormone therapy. Many factors influence the prognosis of male breast cancer, the most important of which are the TNM stage of tumor, and condition of lymph node involvement.

Objective To evaluate the methods of diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disease with concomitant focal lymphocytic thyroiditis(FLT), and explore the reasons for its confused with Hashimoto′s disease(HD).Methods During the recent 25 years, 207 patients underwent surgical trearment for pathologically diagnosed HD.Among this group, 143 cases of HD with other concomitant thyroid disease were retrospectively analysed. Results Of the 143 cases, 57 cases were found to have thyroid disease with concomitant FLT, and this was 27.5%(57/207) of the total HD group, or 39.9%(57/143) of the group with thyroid disease and concomitant HD.Intraoperative pathologic section revealed that focal lymphocytic infiltration was positive in 87.7%(50/57) of cases. The postoperative hypothyroidism occurrence rate was 19.3%(11/57), of which, 7 cases(7/57, 12.3%) were subclinical hypothyroidism. Conclusions The character of pathologic changes of thyroid disease with FLT and with HD was different. Intraoperative pathologic section can be helpful in the diagnosis of this condition and can have important significance as a guide to the scope of (surgical) resection of the thyroid gland.

METHODS:
Clinical records of 1,025 patients with nipple discharge undergoing FDS from February 2006 to March 2008 were reviewed.
RESULTS:
There were obviously differences in the FDS diagnosis of various nipple discharge traits. The diagnosis by FDS was pathologically confirmed in 93.7%of patients with nipple discharge (404/431).
