6.Review on the Safety of Deep Acupuncture at Tianshu(ST 25)
Acupuncture Research 2010;0(03):-
Tianshu (ST 25) is a frequently-used acupoint in acupuncture practice. It is reported that deep acupuncture has a better therapeutic effect than routine depth acupuncture. On the basis of reviewing the available literature, the present paper gives a definition about "deep acupuncture" of Tianshu (ST 25) from the anatomy angle, and makes a summary about its safety. This paper also puts forward a set of operation standards for needling Tianshu (ST 25). Moreover, the authors of the present paper also make a systematic analysis on the factors affecting the safety from the punctured depth, the diameter of the acupuncture needle and the operation technique. These methods and standards have an important significance in guiding clinical practice of acu-puncture.
7."Discussion on Shengyang Sanhuo Decoction with Plum-blossom Needle Therapy for Hemodialysis Patients with Restless Legs Syndrome from ""Yin Fire"" Theory"
Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;24(6):119-120
Restless legs syndrome is one of the common complications of maintenance hemodialysis. At present, there is no exact efficacy of Western medicine treatment. Deficiency of spleen and kidney, and deficiency of qi and blood are the TCM pathogenesis for this syndrome. LI Dong-yuan's theory of Yin Fire based on deficiency of spleen and stomach, down in the kidney, and clear Yang not rising. The creation of Shengyang Sanhuo Decoction can enrich Yang Dao and scatter Yin Fire. Yang three needles can warm yang, tonify qi and invigorate the kidney, and has a yang from yin therapeutic effect. Syndrome differentiation of medicine and acupuncture is consistent with the pathogenesis of restless legs syndrome in hemodialysis patients. It can provide new ideas and new targets for optimization of TCM treatment, and provide low cost, simple and effective treatment mode for primary hospitals.
8.Interactive metronome applied in the rehabilitative treatment of the central nervous system
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(16):2619-2624
BACKGROUND: Interactive metronome (IM), also known as millisecond rhythm feedback, is a rehabilitative treatment technology supported by neural plasticity theory. Cerebral immediate feedback measured in milliseconds is helpful for understanding neurocognitive mechanisms. OBJECTIVE: To overview the progress of IM applied in the rehabilitation of central nervous system. METHODS: The first author retrieved CNKI (2001-2016), Medline (1989-2016) and Imedpub (2015-2017) databases using the keywords of millisecond rhythm feedback, cognition, motor behavior in English and Chinese, respectively. Data such as theoretical researches on cerebral timing function, the mechanism underlying IM affecting cerebral timing function, and IM operation skills and application were evaluated. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: A total of 26 eligible articles were enrolled. IM is an objective assessment and training tool that improves neural synchronization and function. IM can accelerate the speed and the efficiency of processing information of white matter tracts, and enhance the function of attention control system in order to improve the disorder of the cerebral timing. IM achieves satisfactory outcomes in the treatment of learning disabilities in children, cognitive impairment after brain injury and cerebral stroke with hemiplegia in adults. Based on the traditional rehabilitative training in the central nervous system, IM addresses critical brain timing skills, which is a promising technology in the future rehabilitation of the central nervous system.
9.Effect of nutritional risk on incidence of pressure ulcer in hospitalized elderly patients
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2013;29(19):14-17
Objective To investigate the effects of nutritional risk on incidence of pressure ulcer in hospitalized elderly patients, and to provide a basis for medical staff to carry out effective preventive measures. Methods Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 (NRS-2002) and nutrition index were applied in 150 elderly patients in the department of neurology for screening and evaluation of nutritional risk. Then the effect of nutritional risk on incidence of pressure ulcer in elderly patients was analyzed. Results 86 cases with nutritional risk and 64 cases without nutritional risk were found. The incidence of pressure ulcer was 16.67% and 42.67% respectively. The comparison was made among hemoglobin, serum albumin,pre-albu-min and total lymphocyte count, the difference was statistically significant between the two groups. The incidence of pressure ulcer in elderly patients with nutritional risk was 6.99 times higher than those without nutritional risk. Conclusions To given nutritional risk screening, active and reasonable nutritional support plan to hospitalized elderly patients can reduce the incidence of pressure ulcer.
10.Effects of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells on the biological behavior of prostate cancer cells
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2016;20(14):2046-2051
BACKGROUND:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s have a close relationship with tumor occurrence and development, which are not only involved in tumor recruitment but impact the biological behavior of tumor cel s. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s on the biological behavior prostate cancer cel line. METHODS:Human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s from healthy adults were col ected and cultured in vitro. Cel morphology and cel markers were observed. Using the Transwel technique, human dermal fibroblasts HDF-a were co-cultured with human prostate carcinoma DU145 cel s in positive control group, wild-type prostate carcinoma DU145 cel s cultured alone in negative control group, and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s co-cultured with human prostate carcinoma DU145 cel s in experimental group. Flow cytometry assay was used to detect the cel cycle of prostate carcinoma DU145 cel s, soft agar colony formation assay performed to detect cel proliferative ability, and crystal violet staining used to observe DU145 cel migration at 3 days after culture. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the negative control group, cel proportion at G 2/M+S phase, number of transmembrane cel s and colony counting were significantly decreased in the experimental group. These findings indicate that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s may inhibit the proliferation and invasion of prostate carcinoma DU145 cel s by shortening the G 2/M+S phase, thereby providing a new insight into the treatment of human prostate cancer.
