Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2001;6(1):28-30
AimTo observe the effect of infiltration of Methylprednisolone on injured spinal nerve root and the protective function of Methylprednisolone to non-impressed spinal nerve root lesion. Methods The spinal nerve roots were injured in 20 rabbits. Three days later local Methylprednisolone infiltration of spinal nerve root profromed in rabbits in experiment group, while rabbits in the control roup received equal amount of 0.9% natriichloridi instead. The conduct velocity of spinal nerve root was measured one week after operation. The histological change of spinal nerve root and immunohistochemical stain of posterior horn of spine were observed by microscope. Results The conduct velocity was recovered obviously in experiment group. In observation of spinal nerve we found the edema and hyperaemia of matrix were impaired obviously, the lesion focus was minimized, the amount of inflammatory cells was decreased. The area of substance P positive fiber and its terminus in posterior of spinal was smaller in experiment group remarkably than in control group. ConclusionsThe local infiltration of Methylprednisolone can relieve inflammation, inhibit the transmission of pain and accelerate recovery of spinal nerve root.
3.Water soluble active ingredients of Danshen--review on the Salvianolic acids
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2000;20(5):394-398
Danshen-Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae,is one of the common traditional Chinese medicines, which has been used clinically in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases more than 20 centuries. The active ingredients of Danshen has been researched 5 decades by the modern methods. Many researchers investigated the pharmacological effects of water soluble ingredients of Danshen-salvianolic acids in vivo and in vitro. The results demonstrated that salvianolic acids have different pharmacological effects such as potent antioxidative effects, scavenging free radicals, protect neural cells against injuries caused by anoxia, etc.In present paper, the pharmacological effects of salvianolic acids and the mechanisms of their actions are reviewed based on the research results obtained in our laboratory and other authors.
4.Recent clinical research on glucocorticoids and intravenous immunoglobulin therapy with myocarditis in children
Chinese Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2013;20(5):459-463
Myocarditis is one of the most common acquired heart diseases in children, and one of the most common causes of a pediatric dilated cardiomyopathy phenotype. The myocarditis is a difficult issue in the diagnosis and the optimal means of therapy.A recent Pediatric Cardiomyopathy Registry (PCMR) analysis in the largest group of pediatric myocarditis patients ever studied confirmed that the most common outcome in pediatric myocarditis was cardiac recovery, but approximately 30% of pediatric myocarditis patients would die or undergo heart transplantation.Animal studies and adult experience suggested that autoimmunity might contribute to cardiac dysfunction in myocarditis.Immunosuppressive and immunomodulating therapy for pediatric myocarditis remains controversial.Small case series have shown benefit of these therapies in pediatric myocarditis.A limited number of biomarkers associated both good (recovery) and poor (death or transplantation) outcomes could be identified. We should do our best to find these biomarkers in the future.
5.Clinical diagnostic protocal for syncope in children
Chinese Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2010;17(6):481-484
Syncope is a common clinical problem in children and adolescents. It is a major challenge for practicing physicians, and medical resource utilization and expenses associated with syncope management are enormous. A diagnostic protocol to syncope must be developed for children and adolescents for convenient and effective final diagnosis, and an analysis of cost-effectiveness is meaningful. Thus, according to the studies of syncope in children in China, the Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society proposed the guidelines for diagnosis of syncope in children in China, and developed a simplified diagnostic protocol for children and adolescents with syncope. According to a multi-center prospective study, the diagnostic protocol in children and adolescents with syncope results in an improvement of diagnostic yield.
6.GOPubMed: research on information retrieval and analysis based on gene ontology and MeSH
Journal of Medical Informatics 2009;30(7):6-11
GoPubMed is an intelligent search engine based on PubMed aiming at realizing visualization and post - processing the re-salts. The paper analyzes its performance from three aspects, including working principle, key technique and extended functions. As the result of the research, it reveals that GoPubMed classifies the retrieval results from PubMed by semantic classification tools based on se-mantic web, namely GO and MESH, therefore, it helps users find high related literature very quickly. The combination between semantic web and biomedical information retrieval is realized perfectly, and visualization statistical analysis is gradually unveiled from multiple an-gles.

8.The diagnosis and treatment of juxtaglomerular cell tumors (report of 5 cases)
Chinese Journal of Urology 2001;0(10):-
Objective To study the juxtaglomerular cell tumor. Methods The clinical characteristics, diagnosis, surgical teratment and the prognosis of 5 patients were retrospectively studied with review of the literature. Results All the patients had hypokalemia.Peripheral serum renin levels were recorded in 4 patients and 3 of them had high levels of peripheral serum renin activity and hyperaldosteronism while these were normal in the other 1.1 patient had been preoperatively diagnosed as a right adrenal tumor with a concurrent right kidney tumor while the post-operative histopathological studied revealed normal adrenal tissue and a juxtaglomerular cell tumor of the right kidney. All patients underwent simple tumor resection. The peripheral serum renin activity, hyperaldosteronism, hypokalemia, and hypertension became normal after the tumor resection. At a mean follow-up of 58 months (range 15 to 120 months ) no tumor recurrence and hypertension has been documented. Conclusions Juxtaglomerular cell tumor is a begin tumor of kidney, being a rare, curable cause of high levels of peripheral serum renin activity, hyperaldosteronism, hypokalemia and hypertension.Differential diagnosis includes primary hyperaldosteronism and renal artery stenosis. The prognosis is good with tumor resection.
9.Prevention of peritoneal adhesion formation utilizing degradable polycaprolactone film
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2008;12(45):8969-8972
BACKGROUND: Several studies have demonstrated that degradable polycaprolactone film has no apparent influences on cellular immune function of rat critical organs including heart, liver, and kidney, and possesses the prerequisite of anti-adhesion formation.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the role of degradable polycaprolactone film in preventing rat peritoneal adhesion following surgery.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: The present randomized, controlled animal experiment was performed at the Department of Physiology, Jilin University.MATERIALS: A total of 120 male Wistar rats, weighing 180-220 g, were included in this study. Peritoneal adhesion was induced in all rats. Non-bio-degradable film was sourced from Wuhan Boster Company, China. Polycaprolactone film was purchased from U.C.C Company. England.METHODS: All 120 rats were randomly divided into 3 groups, with 40 rats per group: control, non-bio-degradable film, and polycaprolactone film. Peritoneal adhesion was induced in all rats. The non-bio-degradahle film and polycaprolactone film groups were subjected to peritoneal wound cover with non-bio-degradable film and polycaprolactone film, respectively. From day 1 following surgery, each rat daily received an intraperitoneal injection of 4 mL 2 g/L pseudomonas enzyme, for a total of 3 successive days.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: At 1, 3, 7, and 30 days following surgery, 10 rats were selected from each group for observation of peritoneal adhesion.RESULTS: Totally 120 rats were included in the result analysis. Peritoneal adhesion was successfully induced in rats from the control group. From day 7 following surgery, the peritoneal adhesion rate was significantly lower in the polycaprolactone film group than in the control group (P<0.01). In the non-bio-degradable film group, the peritoneal adhesion rate exhibited decreasing followed by increasing tendency; by day 30, the adhesion rate was significantly higher compared to the polycaprolactone film group (P<0.01).CONCLUSION: Polycaprolactone film is degraded by pseudomonas enzyme to avoid the new adhesion caused by foreign stimulation.
10.Exploration of training mechanisms for young faculty's research capabilities
Chinese Journal of Medical Science Research Management 2012;(6):399-401
Young faculty are an essential part of a university's strength and is important for its sustainable development. And their scientific research capability is associated with the long-term development of the university. At present, there are 4 major problems with the development of young faculty's research capabilities, which include their relatively single academic knowledge structure, insufficient experience in writing proposals, insufficient opportunities for academic exchange, and inequity in resource allocation.Establishing a training mechanism may help solve some of the problems and promot their development. The research management department of a university must abandon erroneous traditional management concepts, provide research training seminars, develop a new mechanism to stimulate academic exchange, design a system for short-term laboratory rotations, and promote the participation of your faculty in major research projects. These may bring about marked improvement in the improvement of young faculty's research capabilities.
