2.Exploration of training mechanisms for young faculty's research capabilities
Chinese Journal of Medical Science Research Management 2012;(6):399-401
Young faculty are an essential part of a university's strength and is important for its sustainable development. And their scientific research capability is associated with the long-term development of the university. At present, there are 4 major problems with the development of young faculty's research capabilities, which include their relatively single academic knowledge structure, insufficient experience in writing proposals, insufficient opportunities for academic exchange, and inequity in resource allocation.Establishing a training mechanism may help solve some of the problems and promot their development. The research management department of a university must abandon erroneous traditional management concepts, provide research training seminars, develop a new mechanism to stimulate academic exchange, design a system for short-term laboratory rotations, and promote the participation of your faculty in major research projects. These may bring about marked improvement in the improvement of young faculty's research capabilities.
3.GOPubMed: research on information retrieval and analysis based on gene ontology and MeSH
Journal of Medical Informatics 2009;30(7):6-11
GoPubMed is an intelligent search engine based on PubMed aiming at realizing visualization and post - processing the re-salts. The paper analyzes its performance from three aspects, including working principle, key technique and extended functions. As the result of the research, it reveals that GoPubMed classifies the retrieval results from PubMed by semantic classification tools based on se-mantic web, namely GO and MESH, therefore, it helps users find high related literature very quickly. The combination between semantic web and biomedical information retrieval is realized perfectly, and visualization statistical analysis is gradually unveiled from multiple an-gles.
4.Prevention of peritoneal adhesion formation utilizing degradable polycaprolactone film
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2008;12(45):8969-8972
BACKGROUND: Several studies have demonstrated that degradable polycaprolactone film has no apparent influences on cellular immune function of rat critical organs including heart, liver, and kidney, and possesses the prerequisite of anti-adhesion formation.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the role of degradable polycaprolactone film in preventing rat peritoneal adhesion following surgery.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: The present randomized, controlled animal experiment was performed at the Department of Physiology, Jilin University.MATERIALS: A total of 120 male Wistar rats, weighing 180-220 g, were included in this study. Peritoneal adhesion was induced in all rats. Non-bio-degradable film was sourced from Wuhan Boster Company, China. Polycaprolactone film was purchased from U.C.C Company. England.METHODS: All 120 rats were randomly divided into 3 groups, with 40 rats per group: control, non-bio-degradable film, and polycaprolactone film. Peritoneal adhesion was induced in all rats. The non-bio-degradahle film and polycaprolactone film groups were subjected to peritoneal wound cover with non-bio-degradable film and polycaprolactone film, respectively. From day 1 following surgery, each rat daily received an intraperitoneal injection of 4 mL 2 g/L pseudomonas enzyme, for a total of 3 successive days.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: At 1, 3, 7, and 30 days following surgery, 10 rats were selected from each group for observation of peritoneal adhesion.RESULTS: Totally 120 rats were included in the result analysis. Peritoneal adhesion was successfully induced in rats from the control group. From day 7 following surgery, the peritoneal adhesion rate was significantly lower in the polycaprolactone film group than in the control group (P<0.01). In the non-bio-degradable film group, the peritoneal adhesion rate exhibited decreasing followed by increasing tendency; by day 30, the adhesion rate was significantly higher compared to the polycaprolactone film group (P<0.01).CONCLUSION: Polycaprolactone film is degraded by pseudomonas enzyme to avoid the new adhesion caused by foreign stimulation.
5.Clinical diagnostic protocal for syncope in children
Chinese Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2010;17(6):481-484
Syncope is a common clinical problem in children and adolescents. It is a major challenge for practicing physicians, and medical resource utilization and expenses associated with syncope management are enormous. A diagnostic protocol to syncope must be developed for children and adolescents for convenient and effective final diagnosis, and an analysis of cost-effectiveness is meaningful. Thus, according to the studies of syncope in children in China, the Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society proposed the guidelines for diagnosis of syncope in children in China, and developed a simplified diagnostic protocol for children and adolescents with syncope. According to a multi-center prospective study, the diagnostic protocol in children and adolescents with syncope results in an improvement of diagnostic yield.
6.Application and Mathematic Analysis of Fourier Transform in MRI Technique
Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2003;0(12):-
Fourier Transform plays a very important part on spatialization and reconstruction of MRI. Advanced mathematic analysis makes us understand the concept of Fourier Progression and Fourier Transform, and some concrete applications of Fourier Transform on the MRI are listed.
7.The progress in TRPM8 research
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(09):-
TRP(transient receptor potential) ion channel is a kind of membrane proteins which are widespreadly present in various cells, which is used to identify various mixed flavor and warm, heat, cold, and other temperature.Originally cloned as a proatate-specific protein.TRPM8 is now best known as a cold-and menthol-activated channel implicated in thermosensation. We provide a brief review of current knowledge concerning the biophysical properties, gating mechanisms, pharmacology and(patho)physiology of this TRP channel.
8.Progress in the study of phosphodiesterase-7 as a new target for anti-inflammatory and immune drug
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(01):-
Phosphodiesterases(PDEs) is the only protein enzyme family, which catalyze the hydrolysis of cyclic nucleotide second messages(cAMP and cGMP).PDEs regulate many physiologic and pathologic processes.Recent advance showed that PDE7 hydrolyze cAMP exclusively and is divided into PDE7A and PDE7B. PDE7 mainly express in immune and inflammatory cells. The selective inhibition of this family generates profound, functional effects and PDE7 has been used as a therapeutic target for diseases related with inflammation, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimers disease(AD).
9.Anti-inflammatory mechanism of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(08):-
The anti-inflammatory mechanism of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is mainly due to inhibition of COX-2 activity. NSAIDs can also inhibit COX-2 expression and produce anti-inflammatory effect independent of COX. These COX-independent mechanisms include inhibiting transcription factors such as NF-?B and AP-1, interfering with signal transduction pathways through actions on Erk、p38MAPK、IKK and RSK2, activating PPAR? and HSF-1, inhibiting iNOS and transport of prostanoids from their generating cells.
10.Serial Concentrations of N-Terminal pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide in Normal Children and Children with Congestive Heart Failure
Journal of Medical Research 2006;0(06):-
Objective This study sought to determine the normal ranges of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in normal children and children with symptoms of heart failure (HF) caused by dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM),and further study their clinical implications. Methods Concentrations of Serum NT-proBNP were determined in 80 normal children and 45 children with clinical symptoms of HF.Venous blood was taken in each subject, and plasma NT-pro BNP was determined by ELISA method.Of the 80 normal children,40 were boys and 40 were girls.Their age ranged from 1 to 16 years old with a mean of 10.6?4.2 years. The 45 children with HF ,caused by dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).Their age ranged from 1 to 16 years, and had a left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of less than 50%.The serum NT-proBNP levels were correlated to LVEF measured by echocardiography and clinical symptom score of heart failure defined by using Ross Score. Results The mean (?s) serum concentration of NT-proBNP was 223.1?76.6fmol/ml in normal children from 1 to 16 years old.NT-proBNP levels did not show a significant age-related or sex-related differences. In children with HF,the plasma NT-proBNP levels were significantly elevated (mean:1353.3 fmol/ml range: 341.6 fmol/ml~2794.1 fmol/ml) as compared to normal children.(P
