ObjectiveInvestigate the value and feasibility of image registration with reverse rotation in lateral cerebral DSA.Methods ( 1 ) Experimental study:the target images were subtracted directly, and subtracted again after reverse rotation.Software of registration and subtraction with reverse rotation edited by the author utilizing Visual Basic. The function of the automatic angle detection by the software were evaluated to see whether it detected the angle of line. The subtraction function of DSA by the software was evaluated.(2) Clinical retrospective study:the untreated mask and target inages of 15 patients with motion along vertical axis during lateral cerebral DSA were uploaded to the software. The target images were processed with and without the software to get two sets of images.( 3 ) Evaluation:four experienced radiologists read and compared the two sets of the images, and graded their findings. Results ( 1 ) The automatic detection by the software suggested that the target images should be rotated counterclockwise 1.3°. The subtraction result of the software was satisfactory.(2)In the 15 sets of images, there were only three sets of images deemed optimal after traditional subtraction. After reverse rotation, artifacts were significantly reduced and the image sharper. There were ten cases with significant artifacts after traditional subtraction, and those images were sharper and showed more peripheral vessels after reverse rotation. The traditional subtraction images of two sets could not be interpreted, the reverse rotation registration images reached the diagnostic quality.(3)Subjective evaluation: there were more information and less noise and distortion in the registration images with reverse rotation than in the traditional subtraction. But the image resolution decreased slightly after reverse rotation registration.ConclusionThe registration of digital angiography with reverse rotation can improve the image quality in lateral cerebral DSA.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the genetic causes of deaf patients in a special educational school of Chifeng city, Inner Mongolia by SLC26A4 whole gene sequencing. This study focused on analyzing mutations of coding sequence of SLC26A4 gene and their relevant phenotype. METHODS DNA were extracted from peripheral blood of 134 deaf patients of Chifeng special educational school and 100 normal hearing controls in Northern China. SLC26A4 gene mutation was analyzed by direct sequencing for its 20 coding exons. All individuals found with SLC26A4 mutation were given temporal bone CT scan, and those with confirmed enlarged vestibular aqueduct and/or other malformation of inner ear were then given further ultrasound scan of thyroid and thyroid hormone assays. RESULTS The sequencing results revealed 32 cases carried SLC26A4 mutation. Twenty-nine cases underwent temporal bone CT scan. Twentycases were confirmed to have malformation of inner ear by CT scan (eighteen were EVA, one was EVA and other inner ear malformation and one was Mondini Syndrome). The shape and function of thyroid were confirmed to be normal by ultrasound scan of thyroid and thyroid hormone assays in nineteen of these 20 patients except one who had cystoid change in the right side of thyroid. Twelve types of novel variants of SLC26A4 gene were found. CONCLUSION Byscreening SLC26A4 gene coupled with temporal bone CT scan ,we could determine genetic cause related to this gene up to 14.93 % of deaf patients in special educational school of Chifeng city. SLC26A4 is another common gene besides GJB2 that cause deafness in this area. The discovery of novel variants of SLC26A4 gene makes the mutational and polymorphic spectrum more plentiful in Chinese population.

Objective:To investigate the clinical effects of lacunar closure-assisted internal fixation in the one-stage treatment of Morel-Lavallée injury complicated with pelvic fracture. Methods:The 32 patients were retrospectively analyzed who had been treated for Morel-Lavallée injury complicated with pelvic fracture at Department of Orthopedic Trauma, Honghui Hospital Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University from May 2018 to November 2020. They were 21 males and 11 females, aged from 18 to 58 years (average, 40.5 years). The injury was located at a unilateral hip in 20 cases, at bilateral hips in 6 cases, at low back in 4 cases, and at posterior thigh in 2 cases. The pelvic fractures were treated by open reduction and internal fixation while the Morel-Lavallée injuries by lacunar closure at the same time. Their wound healing, pelvic function and complications were observed regularly. Results:The hospital stay of 32 patients ranged from 14 to 28 days, averaging 19.2 days. The patients were followed up for 6 to 18 months (mean, 9.3 months). The area of Morel-Lavallée injury healed after one lacunar closure in 23 patients who obtained fine skin survival and no soft tissue necrosis or other complications; the wounds in the Morel-Lavallée injury area healed well after secondary lacunae closure in 4 patients. Superficial sensation of the skin decreased around the Morel-Lavallée injury area after wound healing in 3 patients. Wound fat liquefaction was found in the Morel-Lavallée injury area but responded to symptomatic treatment in one patient. A small amount of wound secretion found in the Morel-Lavallée injury area was cured also by symptomatic treatment in another patient whose bacterial culture was negative. All the fractures healed after 3 to 6 months (average, 3.9 months). At the last follow-up, the Majeed scores for the pelvic function ranged from 65 to 100 points, averaging 84.5 points. Conclusion:For Morel-Lavallée injury complicated with pelvic fracture, lacunar closure-assisted internal fixation can result in a satisfactory one-stage treatment.
