Through analyzing on the statistics of published-year distribution and published-journal distribution of the research paper of China Ethical Committee,the progress and limits of the research from China Ethical Committee during past two decades are summarized.

The executive supervision mechanism of IRBs in U.S.A and China are compared and analyzed.Based on the specific situation and realities in China,the plan of adopting good experiences of American peers to perfect the current Chinese IRBs' executive mechanism is also conceived.

Objective To understand the microorganism pollution in the indoor air in the campus of Liaocheng University. Methods In April and May, 2004, the content of airborne microbes in the indoor air in Liaocheng University campus was determined by the gravity plate method. Results The average content of bacteria in the indoor air was 2.39?103 cfu/m3, the average content of mildew was 0.62?103 cfu/m3. The predominant microorganism in the internet bars in the campus was bacteria. Conclusion In general, the indoor air quality in Liaocheng University campus is at comparative clear level.

A questionnaire survey aimed to explore the ECs'current status is conducted in three-level hospitals of Tianjin, the existing questions and reasons of ECs in China are analyzed.

Objective To investigate the efficacy and side effects of MINE regimen, as a salvage regimen, in treating patients with recurrent and refractory intermediate grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma(NHL).Methods 45 patients failing to CHOP or CHOP-like regimen were treated with MINE regimen and every patient had received 2-6 cycles of treatment. IFO 15 g/m2, ivgtt on d1-3, combined with mesna 400 mg iv for3 times on Oh, 4h, 8h after IFO ivgtt; MIT 10 mg/m2 ivgtt on dl; VP1665 mg/m2 ivgtt on d1-3. 21-28 daysconsisted of one cycle. The therapeutic effects and side effects were evaluated according to the WHO criteria.Results In all 45 patients, 53.3 % of overall response rate were achieved CR for 9 cases, 15 cases PR, 13 cases SD and 8 cases PD. Main side effects were myelosuppression, nausea, vomit, alopecia, etc. Conclusion MINE regimen is an effective and safe salvage regimen in treating patients with recurrent and refractory intermediate grade NHL. Further clinical study on the application of MINE regimen is recommended.

AIM:To investigate the expression and clinical significance of PAK4 in the cell lines and tissues of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).METHODS:PAK4 expression in human bronchial epithelial (HBE) cells, NSCLC cell lines, NSCLC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues were assessed by immunohistochemistry, real-time PCR and Western blot.Prognostic value of PAK4 expression was evaluated by Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox regression.RE-SULTS:PAK4 was over-expressed in the NSCLC cell lines at both mRNA and protein levels compared with HBE cells ( P<0.05).PAK4 was over-expressed in the NSCLC tissues at both mRNA and protein levels compared with adjacent non-tumor tissues (P<0.05).PAK4 was over-expressed in the metastatic NSCLC tissues compared with the primary NSCLC tissues (P<0.05).Higher PAK4 staining scores were positively correlated with differentiation, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, and clinical stage.Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank test showed that overall survival was significantly different between the patients with up-regulated PAK4 and the patients with down-regulated PAK4 ( P<0.05) .PAK4 over-expression was associated with NSCLC progression.CONCLUSION:Increased PAK4 expression was associated with tumor invasion, metastasis and prognosis in the patients with NSCLC.PAK4 is an important prognostic marker and potential ther-apeutic target in NSCLC.

Objective Alterations in vascular structure and function and impairment of associated endothelial cells with aging are one of the independent risk factors in the process of atherosclerotic vascular diseases.The study of age-related endothelial dysfunction plays a critical role in preventing as well as treating heart and cerebral vascular diseases in the elderly.Methods The healthy male rats were divided into the young group (3-month-old),the adult group (9-month-old) and the middle-aged group (15-monthold).The indicators associated with vascular endothelial function,including plasma NO,eNOS,iNOS,ET-1 and aortic NO,eNOS,iNOS,were quantified to evaluate the endothelium-dependent and non-endothelium-dependent vasodilating function of isolated aortic rings.These morphological changes of rat aorta helped to find out the group in which endothelial function changed in the early stage.Results Plasma NO,eNOS,iNOS and aortic NOS activity in the young group,the adult group and the middle-aged group gradually decreased with increasing age (P ＜ 0.05).NO,eNOS and iNOS respectively displayed a negative correlation to age.ET-1 gradually increased with aging (P ＜ 0.05) and showed a predominantly positive correlation to age.Acetylcholine-induced greatest vasodilation of aortic rings lessened with increasing age (P ＜ 0.05).Vasodilation in each group reacted generally consistently with nitroprusside sodium (P ＞0.05).Aortic morphology,including intima media thickness (T),diameter (D) and intima media thickness / inner diameter (T / D),gradually enhanced with aging (P ＜ 0.05).T,D was positively correlated with age.NO,eNOS,iNOS,ET-1 of the adult group showed maximum slope (P ＜0.05 respectively) according to group regression analysis,suggesting that vascular endothelial function changed in this group.Meanwhile,T and D of the middle-aged group showed maximum slope (P ＜ 0.05 respectively),suggesting that age-related vascular structural changes predominantly occurred in this period and vascular function changed earlier than the structure.Conclusion Our study demonstrated vascular endothelial dysfunction with aging.Early evident changes of endothelial function occurred in the adult group,which impaired endothelium-dependent vasodilating function.Vascular function changed earlier than the structure.

The present problems were analyzed in the education in the gynecology of traditional Chinese medicine. And then the discusion was underwent as fellowes: the reasonable allocation of teaching hours, enriching teaching methods, setting up the concept of combining traditional Chinese and western medicine, developing the another class, paying attention on teacher training and student feedback. In this way, we want to explore the effective methods to improve the quality of education in the gynecology of traditional Chinese medicine.

BACKGROUND:Compared with the conventional composite resin, the 3M Z350 nano-resin has good wear
resistance, physical mechanical properties, and polishing, and exerts a lower irritation to the dental pulp. Besides fil ing materials, a reliable tooth-prosthesis bonding interface is necessary for resin bonded repairs.
OBJECTIVE:To compare the clinical effects of self-etch bonding Adper Easy One and total-etch bonding Single Bond 2 on nano-resin bonding restoration of the anterior teeth.
METHODS:120 anterior teeth with vital pulp, which had defects at the incisal ends and were to be restored with nano resins, were divided into two groups randomly. Two kinds of adhesives, self-etch adhesive and total-etch adhesive, combined with nano-resin were used to restore the teeth. The patients were re-examined immediately, 6 months, 1 year and 2 years after the treatment. The fil ings, teeth and pulps of patients were examined,
including whether the prosthesis and tooth color were coordinated, whether the gap between the prosthesis and the teeth were sealed, whether the surface of the prosthesis was intact with no loose, whether the prosthesis and teeth had no staining and secondary caries, whether the condition of the tooth pulp had hot or cold
stimulation-induced pain.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:No significant difference in the fil ing effects was found between the two groups when the patients were re-examined immediately, 6 months and 1 year after the treatment (P>0.05). The pulp
lesions of the self-etching group were fewer than those of the total-etch group 2 years after the treatment (P<0.05). Self-etching group had 1, 6, 0, 2 cases and total-etch group had 0, 2, 1, 2 cases in uncoordinated color, edge seal,
incomplete restoration and secondary caries, respectively. No statistical y significant differences were found in these four aspects between the two groups (P>0.05). The 2-year fol ow up showed a low incidence of pulp lesions and satisfactory clinical performance after 3M Z350 nano-resin working with self-etching bonding system in the nano-resin fil ing of
anterior teeth with vital pulp.
