Objective: To evaluate the noise characteristic of different reconstruction type CT image by using the noise power spectrum (NPS), and analyze the correlation between this results and subjective vision noise evaluation. Methods: QA water phantom of CT equipment was scanned and 8 common reconstruction algorithms were applied to dispose image. NPS peak value, the peak frequency and standard deviation (SD) were compared with the subjective evaluation measurements, such as granularity, contrast, sharpness and optical noise level, by using the correlation analysis. Results: Each reconstruction algorithm owned different peak value and peak frequency. Granularity negatively correlated with the peak frequency. A positive correlation was found between contrast and peak value. Sharpness was positively correlated with both peak value and peak frequency. All of the subjective evaluation measurements were correlated with SD. Conclusion: Comparing with SD, NPS can reflect both intensity and morphological feature of the noise and possess applicative potential as a more comprehensive evaluation index.

AIM: To explore the effects of sitai tablet on blood pressure, blood lipid, blood sugar and insulin of rats with insulin resistance syndrome(IRS).METHODS: A total of 40 male clean SD rats were divided into normal control group, model group, sitai group and captopril group by randomized block design. The rats were fed with high-fat high sugar diet for 8 weeks to induce IRS. Then, sitai tablets were given to rats with IRS to observe the influence of sitai tablet on blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipid, insulin levels and insulin sensitivity index(ISI) of them.RESULTS: The systolic pressure reduced from ( 158 ± 8), ( 157 ± 7) mm Hg before treatment to (128 ± 4), (110 ± 2)mm Hg after treatment in sitai group and captoril group respectively. There was also significant difference on systolic pressure of between sitai group, captopril group and model group [ ( 165 ± 6) mm Hg] ( t = 11.86 - 28.99, P < 0.01 ). In sitai group, the total cholesterol (TC), triacylycerol (TG)decreased clearly than those in model group( t = 44.27, 9. 14, P < 0.01 ), but high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) increased( t = 703, P < 0. 01 ) . There were increased fasting insulin(FINS) and decreased ISI in model group. There was significant difference on these indes between model group and normal control group( t= 7.14, 9.35, P < 0.01 ) . The insulin resistance was evident so that the model was successfully established. The fasting blood sugar and FINS all reduced when comparing it between sitai group, captopsil group with model group, there was significant difference( t = 11.95, 6.71, P < 0.01). When comparing the fasting blood sugar in captoril group and sitai group, there was also difference( t = 8.33, P < 0.01 ) . The ISI all increased in sitai group and captoril group, there was difference between them and model group (t=9.82,9.35, P <0.01).CONCLUSION: Sitai tablet can remarkably reduce the blood pressure, blood sugar and blood fat, and increase the sensibility of insulin so that it can improve the general effects of IRS.

Objective To investigate the effects of allogenic intra-bone marrow bone marrow transplantation (IBM-BMT) on re-establishing hematopoiesis in mice. Methods Bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMNCs) from BALB/ c mice were transplanted into the C57BL/6 mice treated with a lethal dose of ~(60)Coγ-ray radiation through intra-bone marrow injection or intravenous injection. Sixty of the C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into three groups as higher dose intra-bone marrow injection group (IBM1 group), lower dose intra-bone marrow injection group (IBM2 group) and intravenous injection group (IV group). The nucleated cell numbers of whole bone marrow from the tibia of each recipient mouse were counted respectively at the day 1, day 3, day 6 and day 9 after the transplantation. The donor-derived total nucleated cells and myeloid cells were quantified by flow cytometry. Results At 6th day after transplantation, more total bone marrow nucleated cells, total donor-derived nucleated cells and donor-derived myeloid cells in the tibia of injected side in both IBM1 group and IBM2 group were found than that in IV group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion Compared with traditional bone marrow transplantation (IV-BMT),IBM-BMT improves the bone marrow hematopoiesis in the early hematopoietic re-establishing stage in allogenic bone marrow transplantation.

Background and purpose:Breast cancer is one of the most common carcinoma among female patients with high mortalities. Drug-resistance is the major reason that leads to chemotherapy failure in clinical practice. MCF-7/ADR is a multi-drug resistant cell line that was established on the basis of breast cancer cell line MCF-7. This research aimed to investigate the anti-apoptotic effect of c-fos in resistant breast cancer cell MCF-7/ADR, and to compare with its sensitive counterpart MCF-7.Methods:Doxorubicin with various concentrations was used to treat MCF-7 as well as its MDR- counterpart MCF-7/ADR. The growth inhibitory rate of MCF-7 and MCF-7/ADR wasdetermined by MTT assay. Additionally, RT-PCR was used to test the expression of P-gp and c-fos mRNA in MCF-7 and MCF-7/ADR; The expression of c-fos mRNA was detected by RT-PCR after 3 μmol doxorubicin treatment; We further established cell lines that stably interfered with c-fos, named MCF-7/ADR/si-fos-8B, MCF-7/ADR/si-fos-3D. Flow cytometry and MTT assay were used to investigate the apoptosis rate and inhibitory rate in these above cells under the treatment of 5-FU, CDDP or γ-radiation. At last, RT-PCR and Western blot analysis were used to detect the expression of bax, bcl-2, puma, p53.Results:The expression of c-fos and P-gp (MDR-1) was up-regulated in MCF-7/ADR, compared with its sensitive counterpart MCF-7. Additionally, the resistant fold of MCF-7/ADR to doxorubicin was nearly 40; The expression of c-fos was gradually up-regulated after 3 μmol doxorubicin treatment; The sensitivity to drugs (5-FU and CDDP) was increased after c-fos interference while the apoptosis rate was also increased after 5-FU, CDDP and γ-radiation treatment. RT-PCR and Western blot analysis indicated that up-regulation ofbax,puma,p53 after c-fos interference while the expression of bcl-2 was down-regulated.Conclusion:c-fos may act as an anti-apoptotic protein in resistant breast cancer cell line MCF-7/ADR by regulating the expression of apoptosis related proteins, and may play a vital role in the formation of multi-drug resistance phenotype.

ABSTRACT AIM To investigate the effect of ch-itosan on protein kinase C (PKC) activitives and diacyl glycerol(DAG)concentration in murine peritoneal macrophages. METHODS A new ion-pair reversed-phase high liquid chromatography and ra-dioimmunoassay were used to determinate the activity of PKC and the concentration of DAG respectively. RESULTS ( 1) Chitosan induced activation and translocation of PKC in murine peritoneal macrophages. The peak time was 25 min and the activity of PKC came back the basic level at 1. 5 h. (2)Chitosan increased the production of DAG in murine peritoneal macrophages. The peak time was 30 s and the concentration of DAG came back the basic level at 3 min. CONCLUSION The im-munopoteniating effect of chitosan may be associated with the channel of DAG /PKC.
