Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2013;(2):116-119
Objective To research the Alzheimer disease(AD) patients' hippocampal structure and cognitive function with the susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) and morphological measurement, and explore the changing regularity and correlation. Methods Sixty patients (divided equally into mild, moderate and major group as the condition of the severity of the AD) and 20 healthy control groups were scanned with SWI and T1MR,then the differences between AD and healthy controls were analyzed. Results The hippocampal volumes of AD patients were smaller than that of control group. The biggest variability occured in the major group(the left was Dunnett-t =-7.03,P < 0.01 ;the right was Dunnett-t =-7.52,P < 0.01),the moderate group was next(the left was Dunnett-t =-6.71,P < 0.01 ; the right was Dunnett-t =-6.62,P < 0.01) ;and the least variability occurred in the mild group. They did not achieve statistical significance (the left was Dunnett-t =-0.86,P> 0.05 ;the right was Dunnett-t =-0.68,P > 0.05).The hippocampus vein' s length, diameter had reduced significantly in the mild group(Dunnett-t were-5.62,-7.02,P< 0.001),but the number of the branches was slightly increased, which was close to the statistical significance.(Dunnett-t =1.86,P > 0.05).With the progress of the AD,all of the hippocampus vein's length, diameter, and branches were reduced significantly(the Dunnett-t of the moderate were-10.10,-11.40,-2.83,P<0.05;the Dunnett-tofthe major were-11.69,-14.68,-5.74,P< 0.001).AD patients blood vessel diameter, length and cognitive have correlation(r =-0.034 ~-0.517,P <0.05,P < 0.01).Conclusion The hippocampus vein and cognitive function function change in AD patients happened in the mild stages of disease. An important supplement to the MRI conventional sequences.

Methods The change of human esophageal carcinoma Eca109 treated with sodium cantharidinate were analyzed by MTT and FCM assay. Results Human esophageal carcinoma Eca109 were treated with sodium cantharidinate for 24 h,the cell proliferation was obviously inhibited(P

Objective To study the diagnosis and trea tm ent of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2b. Methods On e case of MEN2b was reported. The clinical features, the diagnosis and treatment o f MEN2b were reviewed and presented. Results The diagno sis was established on B-ultrasonography and CT scanning, and the patient was cu red by operation. Conclusions MEN2b has been rare.Endoc rine check up,imaging procedures, family investigation and DNA analysis are very important to early diagnosis.Surgical removal of the tumors is effective.

Purpose: To investigate the effect of HSV-TK/GCV system on human prostate cancer. Methods: MTTassay, flow cytometry( FCM), optical and electron microscopy were used to determine the sensitivity of GCV on prostate cancer cell( PC-3m) after being tranfected with HSV-TK gene. Results: It was found that GCV had significant cytotoxic activity on HSV-TK gene-transduced prostate cancer cells, but little effect on the non-transduced cells. Conclusions: The experiment indicates that HSV-TK/GCV system has significant antitumor activities on the TK gene-transduced prostate cancer cells in vitro.

Purpose:To improve the knowledge of primary extragonadal seminoma. Methods:Five cases proved by histopathology were reported in this article, every patient received surgical operation plus subsequent chemotherapy or radiotherapy . Results:all of them are alive now. the histogenesis, clinical features, principle of treatment of primary extragonadal seminoma are discussed with review of literature. Conclusions:Primary extragonadal seminoma is rare, histopathology is very important for diagnosis and selection of therapy.

Objective To detect the levels of soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (sVCAM-1) and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-l (sICAM-1) in the sera of patients with systemic lupus erythe-matosus (SLE) and their clinical significance was analysed. Methods Serum level of sVCAM-1 and sICAM-1 of 30 controls and 60 SLE patients were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results 1 Serum levels of sVCAM-1 were significantly increasd in patients with SLE compared with those in normal controls (P

AIM: To explore the molecular mechanism of Radix Ophioponis against vascular endothelial cell (VEC) apoptosis induced by LPS. METHODS: The apoptosis of human umbilical vascular endothelial cells(HUVEC) was induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS). The influence of Radix Ophiopogonis on the expression of bcl-2 and intracellular Ca 2+ was detected by flow cytometry and laser confocal microscope. RESULTS: The serum containing Radix Ophiopogonis suppressed the increase in bcl-2 expression and overloading of Ca 2+ induced by LPS in HUVEC.CONCLUSION: The mechanism of Radix Ophiopogonis against HUVEC apotosis may be related with its regulatory effect on bcl-2 expression and remission of Ca 2+ overloading.

Objectives To investigate the clinical profile and prognosis of hemophagocytic syndrome (HPS). Methods A retrospective study was carried out to analyze the clinical features and laboratory findings in 28 children with HPS. Fisher's exact probability method and Logistic multivariate regression were used to explore the prognostic risk factors.. Results HPS was clinically characterized by prolonged fever (100%), hepatomegaly (64.29%),and other minor features including respiratory symptoms (53.57%), splenomegaly (50%), hydrops of multiple serous cavity (42.86%), lymphadenectasis (32.14%), jaundice (17.85%), skin rash (14.29%), central nervous system involvement (14.29%), and alimentary tract hemorrhage (10.71%). Labo-ratory data showed that 1iver dysfunction, pancytopenia, coagulation abnormalities, disseminated intravascular coagulation, hy-pertriglyceridemia, decreased number of natural killer cells and hyponatremia were prominent. The etiological analysis indicated that infection associated hemophagocytic syndrome was most common (60.71%), in which EB virus associated HPS was pre-dominant, accounting for 64.71%. Significant difference was observed in the difference of albumin, blood urea nitrogen and acti-vated partial thromboplastin time between death and survival cases (P<0.05). The Logistic regression multivariate analysis showed that hypoalbuminemia was an independent prognostic factor. Conclusions There are various underlying diseases and clinical manifestations for HPS. The lower level of serum albumin is an independent prognostic factor. A prompt diagnosis and treatment is very important for HPS prognosis due to the rapid progression and high mortality.
