OBJECTIVETo explore the etiology and clinical characteristics of hypoxic hepatitis (HH) in children.
METHODClinical data of 7 patients with HH in Shenzhen Children's Hospital from January 2011 to March 2014 were retrospectively reviewed.
RESULTSeven cases diagnosed as HH, age from 4 months to 11 years, were admitted to pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), and accounted for 0.32% of patients in PICU during the same period. The primary causes of HH were respiratory failure and cardiac shock caused by severe hand-foot-and-mouth disease, fulminant myocarditis, infant muggy syndrome . Serologic tests for hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, as well as serum antibody and DNA for Epstein-Barr virus and cytomegalovirus were all negative. There was an increase of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) (≥20 time supper limit of normal (ULN), the highest ALT was more than 130 times ULN in all the patients, which was decreased to 2 times ULN from peak within 10 days. There was a significant relationship between ALT and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)in 3 cases(r=1.000, 1.000, and 0.833, respectively, P<0.05), ALT and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)in 2 cases(r=1.000 and 0.886, respectively, P<0.05), ALT and blood urea nitrogen(BUN)in 1 case(r=1.000, P<0.05), and ALT and creatine kinase(CK)in 1 case(r=0.964, P<0.05). The ALT, AST and LDH returned to normal soon after the primary diseases were controlled.
CONCLUSIONSevere heart failure, hypoxemia, shock, etc. are the leading primary diseases causing HH. The sharp increase in ALT, AST and LDH is the typical laboratory manifestion in HH after the onset, which may decline to normal shortly after the treatment, sometimes complicated with reversible change in BUN or CK.

Objective:To explore the possible effects of Bushen Huoxue Formula (the kidney tonifying and blood activating prescription) on the proliferation and extracellular matrix synthesis of nucleus pulposus cells by regulating the circ_0036763/miR-583 axis. Methods:Real time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the expression levels of circ0036763 and miR-583 in normal and intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) nucleus pulposus cells; IDD nucleus pulposus cells were divided into pcDNA group, pcDNA circ_0036763 group, pcDNA circ_0036763+ mimic NC group, and pcDNA circ_0036763+ miR-583 mimic group. qRT-PCR was used to detect the expression levels of circ_0036763 and miR-583 in nucleus pulposus cells in each group, methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) was used to detect cell proliferation (A value), and Western blot was used to detect the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), collagen Ⅰ, and collagen Ⅱ proteins in nucleus pulposus cells, The dual luciferase assay reported experimental validation of the targeting relationship between circ_0036763 and miR-583. 27 mice were divided into sham surgery group, IDD group, and kidney tonifying and blood activating formula group. IDD models were established in all groups except for the sham surgery group. After successful modeling, the sham surgery group and IDD group were given physiological saline by gavage, while the kidney tonifying and blood activating formula group was given 1.5 g/ml of kidney tonifying and blood activating formula by gavage for 3 consecutive weeks. QRT-PCR was used to detect the expression levels of circ0036763 and miR-583 in the nucleus pulposus cells of mice in each group, MTT was used to detect cell proliferation, and Western blot was used to detect the expression of PCNA, collagen Ⅰ, and collagen Ⅱ proteins. Results:The expression level of circ_0036763 in IDD nucleus pulposus cells decreased, while the expression level of miR-583 increased (all P<0.05); Overexpression of circ_0036763 can promote proliferation and extracellular matrix synthesis of nucleus pulposus cells (all P<0.05); Circ_0036763 targets miR-583 and upregulates miR-583 reversible overexpression. Circ_0036763 enhances the proliferation and extracellular matrix synthesis ability of IDD nucleus pulposus cells. Compared with the sham surgery group, the IDD group showed an increase in collagen Ⅰ protein expression and miR-583 expression levels (all P<0.05), while the cell A value, PCNA and collagen Ⅱ protein expression, and circ_0036763 expression levels decreased (all P<0.05); Compared with the IDD group, the Kidney Tonifying and Blood Activating Formula group showed a decrease in collagen Ⅰ protein expression and miR-583 expression levels (all P<0.05), while the cell A value, PCNA and collagen Ⅱ protein expression, and circ_0036763 expression levels increased (all P<0.05). Conclusions:The kidney tonifying and blood activating formula (Bushen Huoxue) may induce proliferation and extracellular matrix synthesis of nucleus pulposus cells by regulating the circ_0036763/miR-583 axis.

Objective To evaluate the effect of applying sitting posture corrector on improving reading and writing posture of elementary school students, and provide scientific evidence for prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents. Methods One elementary school each in urban and suburban areas of Shanghai was selected using a convenience sampling strategy. Furthermore, two classes each in Grade 3 and 4 were selected as the intervention group (282 students were included in the study), and the other two classes each in Grades 3 and 4 were selected as the control group (294 students were included in the study). Students in the intervention group used the sitting posture corrector in the classrooms for 4 months (from September 2020 to January 2021), while those in the control group did not use the sitting posture corrector. Relevant data were collected before and after the intervention through a self-administered questionnaire and visual examination. Statistical analysis was performed using chi-square test and generalized estimating equation. Results Before the intervention, 13.5% (38/282) of students in the intervention group and 12.2% (36/294) in the control group had good reading and writing posture ( χ 2 = 0.195, P >0.659). After the intervention, 18.4% (52/282) of students in the intervention group had good reading and writing posture, which was higher than that (11.2%, 33/294) in the control group ( χ 2=5.957, P =0.015). Before and after the intervention, there was no significant differences in the prevalence of myopia between students in the intervention and control groups (all P >0.05). Generalized estimating equation analysis showed that students in the intervention group were 1.502 times more likely to have good reading and writing posture than those in the control group after the intervention ( P =0.043). Conclusion Applying sitting posture corrector in schools could improve students' reading and writing posture.
