Objective To analyze the high risk factors of blood infection in Chinese citizens' organ donation,provide the basic evidence for early protection,increase the success rate of donor distribution,and expand the Chinese organ donation pool.Methods A retrospective study was performed on 70 cases of donation recruited during October 2014 to January 2016.The incidence of blood infection in these donors was analyzed.The univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to find out the high risk factors influencing the donor blood infection.Finally,the donor blood infection assessment model and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve were established to assess the sensitivity and specificity.Results The overall infection rate was 64.3％ (45/70).The pulmonary,blood,and urinary tract infection rate was 42.9％,31.4％ and 1.4％ respectively.The total length of hospital stay (＞10 days) (P =0.017),oxygenation index (＜ 233.5 ± 107.0) (P =0.046),aspartate aminotransferase (＞196.9 ± 329.1 U/L) (P =0.044),and valley alanine aminotransferase (＞95.0 ± 78.1 U/L) (P =0.026) were four risk factors for predicting the donor blood infection.The multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that the total length of stay ＞10 days along with the donors' oxygenation index (＜233.5 ± 107.0) was independent risk factor for predicting the blood infection.The donor blood infection model was:0.193 + 1.753 hospital stay (＞10 days)-0.007 oxygenation index.The sensitivity and specificity were 0.682 and 0.75 (P ＜0.001) respectively.Conclusion For a long-term stay in ICU,the rate of blood infection for donors was much higher,at this time,the most effective antibiotics should be chosen.Besides,improving donor oxygenation index and liver function can reduce the incidence of infection.

Objective To explore the effects of different intrauterine adhesion (IUA) classification systems on predicting the IUA prognosis.Methods One hundred cases were selected as the subjects in present study from those diagnosed with IUA and underwent surgery in Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University from Jan.2010 to Jan.2017,and were followed up for two years.According to the actual situation,all patients were scored by March,AFS,ESGE and Chinese classification for comparing the effects of different IUA classification systems on predicting the pregnancy rate,live birth rate and effective rate within 2 years after surgery.Results ESGE classification had a good effect on predicting the postoperative live birth rate and effective rate,and a certain predictive effect on pregnant rate,with the area under curve (AUC) of 0.722,0.754 and 0.635,respectively.March classification had a certain effect on predicting the postoperative live birth rate and effective rate with AUC of 0.635,0.754,respectively,but had a poor effect on predicting pregnant rate.AFS classification and China classification had poor effect on predicting the IUA prognosis.Conclusion ESGE classification system is better than the other systems including March,AFS and Chinese classification,on predicting the IUA prognosis,but further verification in large sample size is still required.

Objective To investigate the effect of estrogen on the fibrosis process of intrauterine adhesions and the expression of forkhead box F2 (FoxF2).Methods Primary human endometrial stromal cells (HESCs) were obtained by separation with 0.2％ collagenase Ⅰ digestion-mesh filtration-differential adherence,and identified by immunocytochemistry.HESCs affected with 10ng/ml transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) for 48 hours.HESCs in model group were affected with 0,10-6,10-8,10-10 and 10-12mol/L estrogen,the expressions of smooth muscle actin alpha (α-SMA),Collagen I (COL Ⅰ) and FoxF2 were detected by quantitative PCR (qPCR) and Western blotting.Results HESCs with high purity and good activity were obtained by using 0.2％ collagenase Ⅰ digestion-mesh filtration-differential adherence separation method.Immunocytochemistry showed positive vimentin and negative cytokeratin 18 in HESCs.The results of qPCR and Western blotting showed that the mRNA and protein expression levels of α-SMA,COL Ⅰ and FoxF2 were higher in model group than in control group (P＜0.05),the model was built successfully.qPCR revealed that the mRNA expression levels ofα-SMA,COL Ⅰ and FoxF2 were significantly lower in 10-6,10-8 and 10-10mol/L estrogen groups than in model group (P＞0.05 in 10-10mol/L estrogen group,P＜0.05 in other groups),while in 10-12mol/L estradiol group,the expression levels of FoxF2 mRNA significantly decreased (P＜0.05),and of α-SMA and COL Ⅰ mRNA increased,but no significant difference were found (P＞0.05).Compared with the model group,the protein expression levels of α-SMA,COL Ⅰ and FoxF2 in 10-6,10-8 and 10 10mol/L estrogen groups decreased,but no significant difference was found (P＜0.05),while in 10-12mol/L estradiol group,the expression levels ofα-SMA protein increased (P＞0.05),and of COL Ⅰ and FoxF2 proteins decreased (P＜0.05).Conclusions The expression of FoxF2 in intrauterine adhesions is increased.Estrogen can reverse the fibrosis process of intrauterine adhesions in a certain range and inhibit the expression of FoxF2.

Objective To assess the value of preoperative MRI in predicting the incidence of cement leakage into adjacent discs during percutaneous vertebral augmentation (PVA) for osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF).Methods Clinical and radiological characteristics of 127 patients who were treated with PVA for OVCF were analyzed retrospec tively.The following clinical data of these patients were analyzed,including gender,age,location of treated vertebral body and surgical approach.The image features of endplate injury,fracture line extended to the endplate,adjacent intervertebral dick injury and intravertebral cleft were evaluated on the preoperative MRI.The incidence of cement leakage into the adjacent disc were compared for the above factors with statistical methods.Results Totally 127 patients were enrolled in our study,including 179 treated vertebral bodies,358 endplates and 341 adjacent intervertebral discs.The incidence of intradiscal cement leakage was 57.73％ (56/97) in endplate injury sign,60.98％ (25/41) in fracture line extended to endplate sign,35.91％(51/142) in adjacent discs injury sign and 55.56％(20/36) inintravertebral cleft sign.The differences were statistically significant on preoperative MRI in patients with the above signs compared to those who had not (P＜0.05).The incidence of intradiscal cement leakage in percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) and percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) were 26.67％(16/60) and 42.86％(51/119),respectively,which was significant different (P=0.035).For bone cement volume ≤ 5 ml vertebral bodies,the incidence of intradiscal cement leakage was 31.19 ％ (34/109),lower than bone cement volume ＞ 5 ml vertebral bodies (47.14％ [33/70],P=0.031).There was no statistically significant association between intradiscal cement leakage and age,gender and location of treated vertebral body (P＞0.05).Conclusion Preoperative MRI can predict the leakage of bone cement into adjacent discs effectively during PVA.The PKP and the lower volume of bone cement injection can reduce the risk of intradiscal cement leakage.

ObjectiveTo observe female university students' differences of cognitive mechanism in processing different types of sexual picture from International Affective Picture System (IAPS).MethodsUsing event related potential (ERP),the differences of the amplitudes of N2,P3 and PSW were examined induced by the neutral pictures and different types of erotic pictures.ResultsThe amplitudes of N2 ( (0.99 ±1.69 ) μV) and P3 ( ( 17.27 ± 1.45 ) μV) elicited by heterosexual couple erotic pictures were highest,followed by the male erotic pictures( ( -0.02 ± 1.83 ) μV,( 15.92 ± 1.26 ) μV),and then were the female erotic pictures ( ( -0.22 ± 1.56)μV,( 15.49 ±1.34) μV).There was statistical significance in N2 and P3 between heterosexual couple erotic pictures and female erotic pictures ( P ＜0.05 ).There was no significant difference in PSW component between heterosexual couple erotic pictures( ( 15.22 ± 1.98 ) μV) and female erotic pictures ( ( 14.53 ± 1.75 ) μV ),but the PSW induced by male erotic pictures (( 10.93 ± 2.60 )μV) was significantly smaller than the other sexual pictures (P＜0.05).ConclusionThe level of sexual arousal elicited by explicit heterosexual couple erotic pictures is highest and also the attention maintains longest.

AIM:To observe and analyze the effect of cardiopulmonary bypass ( CPB) for 30 min on surface ultra-structure and mechanical properties of the erythrocyte membrane by atomic force microscopy (AFM).METHODS:Ten cases of elective patients in cardiac surgery were selected in the study and divided into control ( CON) group and CPB group.The central venous blood (2 mL) before surgery and 30 min after CPB was collected with heparin anticoagulation . The non-circular red blood cells were counted under a stand fluorescence microscope .AFM was used to examine the ultra-structure of the membrane surface and measure the force curve of the erythrocytes .RESULTS:The percentage of non-cir-cular red blood cells in CPB group showed no statistically significant differences as compared with CON group .AFM images showed that the significant differences of membrane surface concave and convex , evenness , particle distribution , the sur-face average roughness (Ra), the surface root mean square roughness (Rq) and cell membrane adhesion between CPB group and CON group were observed .However, the membrane deformation resilience and curve slope had no significant difference between the 2 groups.CONCLUSION:Cardiopulmonary bypass for 30 min changes the morphology and ultra-structure of the erythrocyte membrane surface , and increases the adhesion between cells .

Aim To observe the effects of promethazine on the analgesia,hypnosis,amnesia and therapeutic index of isoflurane.Methods The experiments were designed to study promethazine on the analgesic effect of isoflurane by hot-plate test and writhing test,and to study the effect of promethazine on the sleeping time of isoflurane by the method of righting reflex,and the amnesia of isoflurane by Morris water maze,and the ED_(50),LD_(50) by sequential method in mice.Results The result of hot-plate test and writhing test indicated that promethazine could enhance the analgesic effect of isoflurane(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01);through the experiment of righting reflex, sleeping time of isoflurane in mice was extended by promethazine(P＜0.01);in Morris water maze experiment, the average latency in the combination of promethazine and isoflurane was longer than that of the promethazine group or isoflurane group(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01), while aiming to the residence time, the combination of the two was shorter than that in the third quadrant(P＜0.01 or P＜0.05),the TCPP of the group of isoflurance was more than that of the combination group;promethazine could decrease the ED_(50) of isoflurance(P＜0.01),but it did not obviously affect its LD_(50)(P＞0.05).Conclusion Promethazine can not only reinforce the effect of isoflurance on analgesia,hypnosis and amnesia, but also boost the therapeutic index of isoflurance.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the correlation between arterial partial pressure of CO2 (PaCO2) and end expiratory tidal partial pressure of CO2 (Pet-CO2) in morbidly obese patients during anesthesia for laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery.

METHODSForty morbidly obese patients with a body mass index (BMI) between 35 and 50 kg/m(2) underwent laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery under general anesthesia. PaCO2 and Pet-CO2 were measured after intubation and before induction of pneumoperitoneum (T0), at 30 min (T1), 60 min (T2), and 120 min (T3) during pneumoperitoneum, and at 30 min (T4) and 60 min (T5) after deflation.

RESULTSAt each time point of measurement, Pet-CO2 was lower than PaCO2 in all the patients. PaCO2 and Pet-CO2 were positively correlated before, during, and after pneumoperitoneum (P<0.05). At a moderate pressure of CO2 pneumoperitoneum (16 mmHg), the level of correlation between PaCO2 and Pet-CO2 at T1, T2, and T3 differed from that before and after post-pneumoperitoneum.

CONCLUSIONSPaCO2 and Pet-CO2 are closely correlated during a moderate CO2 pneumoperitoneum in morbidly obese patients undergoing laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a common malignant hematological tumor in adults, which is characterized by clonal malignant proliferation of plasma cells in the bone marrow and secretion of a large number of abnormal monoclonal immunoglobulins (M protein), leading to bone destruction, hypercalcemia, anemia, and renal insufficiency (Alexandrakis et al., 2015; Yang et al., 2018). Since a large number of new drugs, represented by proteasome inhibitors and immunomodulators, have been successfully used to treat MM, treatment efficacy and survival of patients have been significantly improved. However, due to the high heterogeneity of this disease, patients have responded differently to treatments with these new drugs (Palumbo and Anderson, 2011; Wang et al., 2016; Huang et al., 2020). Growth and survival of MM cells depend on the bone marrow microenvironment, especially numerous inflammatory cytokines secreted by myeloma cells and bone marrow stromal cells, such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), interleukin (IL)‍-6, transforming growth factor-‍β (TGF‍‍-‍‍β), and IL-10. These cytokines can promote the growth of myeloma cells, induce angiogenesis, and inhibit antitumor immunity, and are often linked to patient prognosis (Kumar et al., 2017). In this era of new drugs, the prognostic values of the serum levels of these cytokines in MM need further evaluation.
