Prostate cancer is one of the common malignant tumors of the urinary system and mostly found in elderly men. Like most tumors, prostate cancer involves a variety of molecules in its occurrence and progression. More studies on the development of prostate cancer focus on the tumor markers, DNA damage repair related genes, and tumor invasion and metastasis related factors. This article presents an overview on the research progress in these three aspects.

NF-?B, a group of important transcription factors, are introduced and discussed here on several aspects: their component and molecular structure; their activity control by I?B and IKK, the mechanism of their activation; their important roles in transcriptional regulation for large numbers of genes; and their importance in immunity, inflammation, cell survival, proliferation and apoptosis. The analysis of the relation between NF-?B and disease occurrence, the analysis of the relation between NF-?B and disease therapy, and the application prospect of the new strategy regarding the novel drug design and correlative diseases therapy on the basis of NF-?B as the target, are also included.

Vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) is a main type of syndrome from mild cognitive impairment to dementia,which is caused by cerebrovascular risk factors (eg,hypertension, diabetes,hyperlipemia),obvious (cerebral infarction and hemorrhage) or unobvious cerebrovascular disease (leukoaraiosis and chronic cerebral ischemia).Its incidence is increasing,however,its pathogenesis remains uncertain,and effective therapeutic tools are lacking.Therefore,an increasing attention is being paid to all aspects of studies.This article mainly reviews the recent development in research of neuropsychology,imaging,electrophysiology,biology,and gene.

In the process of cultivating TCM clinical postgraduates of TCM clinical college in Shanxi university of Chinese medicine,we emphasized the importance of clinical application ability and innovation ability in scientific research,stressed the clinical practice and check management,to formulate the objective,effective and quantified assessment index system in keeping with the real institution of our college,so as to improve the all-round quality of TCM clinical postgraduates.

Objective · To investigate the prevalence of passive smoking among pregnant women in Shanghai and to analyze its influencing factors and to provide the basis and suggestion for making related intervention measures to reduce the harm of secondhand smoke on the health of pregnant women. Methods · From July to October 2014, pregnant women and their spouses were recruited for a questionnaire investigation at the antenatal care clinics of 3 maternity hospitals and 3 community hospitals in Shanghai. The questionnaire included demographic information, family basic situation and cognitive status of passive smoking. Results · The passive smoking rate before pregnancy in the 2831 pregnant women, who were involved in the investigation, was 17.1%. The passive rate during pregnancy was 7.8%. The difference between these two rates was statistically significant (P<0.05). 71.0% of the pregnant women have passive smoking for 15~59 min each day. Relative to home and work place, the passive smoking rate of pregnant women in public place was the highest (P<0.05). The passive smoking rate of pregnant women was significantly associated with the educational level of smoking spouses and the attitude of pregnant women when they faced the smokers. Conclusion · The passive smoking rate of pregnant women is influenced by the educational level of their spouses and the pregnant women's feedback to the smokers face to face. Public places are the most important exposure places to secondhand smoke for pregnant women. In order to reduce the harm from passive smoking to pregnant women and their fetuses, the related measures of smoking control at home education and smoking ban in public place should be made.

Ten glycosidic compounds were isolated from an ethanol extract of Machilus wangchiana by a combination of various chromatographic techniques including column chromatography over silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 and reversed-phase flash chromatography and HPLC. Their structures were identified by spectroscopic data analysis (IR, MS, and NMR) as icariside B1 (1), boscialin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), pisumionoside (3), isolariciresinol-9'-O-β-D-xylopyranoside (4), 5'-methoxyisolariciresinol-9'-O-β-D-xylopyranoside (5), lyoniresinol-9'-O-β-D-xylopyranoside (6), (E) -4-hydroxyphenylprop-7-ene 4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (7), (E) - 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylprop-7-ene 4-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 --> 6) -β-D-glucopyranoside (8), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylprop-8-ene 4-O-β-D-xylopyraosyl-(1 --> 6) -β-D-glucopyranoside (9), and 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenylprop-8-ene 4-O-α-L-rhamnpyranosyl-(1 --> 6)-β-D- glucopyranoside (10), respectively.

Objective To observe the expression law of cytokine signaling suppressors (SOCSs) mRNA in burn rats with Staphylococcus aureus sepsis and investigate their potential role in the pathogenesis of postburn sepsis. Methods Wistar rats were inflicted with 20% TBSA Ⅲ? scald, followed by Staphylococcus aureus challenge. Then, the expressions of SOCS1, SOCS2 and SOCS3 mRNA and interferon-? Objective To evaluate the effect of ropivacaine combined with low-dose naloxone or sufentanilropivacaine mixture on brachial plexus block carried under the guidance of ultrasound.Methods A total of 100 patients of our hospital undergoing upper limb surgery was randomly divided into four groups with 25 patients in each group.Four groups are patients receiving 20 mL of 0.375％ mesylate ropivacaine (Group D),20 mL of 0.375％ mesylate ropivacaine + 10 μg sufentanil (Group S),20 mL of 0.375％ mesylate ropivacaine + 100 ng naloxone (Group N) and 20 mL of 0.375％ mesylate ropivacaine + 10 μg sufentanil +100 ng naloxone (Group N+S).All patients underwent interscalene brachial plexus block under ultrasound guidance.The sensory block,motor block and other adverse reactions were observed and recorded at 5min,6,12,18,24 h.Results The sensory and motor block time of group D was (435.5 ± 77.9) min and (350.2 ± 69.8) min,group S (831.7 ± 52.0)min and (675.8 ± 48.1)min,group N (933.0 ± 117.1) min and (499.0 ± 40.5) min,group N+S (919.3 ± 59.0) min and (534.8 ± 56.6)min.The sensory block time of group N and group N + S were significantly longer than that of group D and S (P ＜0.05).The sensory and motor block time of group D were obviously shorter than that of other groups (P ＜ 0.05).There were no significant difference in the onset time of sensory and motor block in all groups.Conclusion Low dose of naloxone combined with ropivacaine or sufentanil-ropivacaine mixture can increase the duration of sensory block on brachial plexus.

Objective To investigate the protective effects of Ulinastatin (UTI) and 1, 6 fructose diphosphate (FDP) on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury, and to discuss the protective mechanisms of UT1 and FDP on cerebral ischemia-repeffusion injury. Method Rabbit ischemia-repeffusion injury models were prepared by"four arteries occlusion". All rabbits were divided into four groups (n=6): control group, UTI (10 U/kg) group, FDP (200 mg/kg) group, UTI+ FDP group. Salt water, UTI, FDP and UTI + FDP were respectively used immediately after ischemia-reperfusion. Plasmic MDA and GSH-Px were measured at 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours and 6 hours after reperfusion.
