Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2012;35(18):15-16
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of hemodialysis (HD) combined with hemoperfusion (HP) in the treatment of uremic pruritus. Methods The clinical data of 96 patients with uremic pruritus were analyzed retrospectively. All cases were treated with HD combined with HP.Results Pruritus score before and after treatment was (9.3 + 0.7) scores and (4.9 + 0.6) scores, respectively. And there was statistical significance (P <0.05).The erum creatinine, urea nitrogen, parathormone and β2 microglobulin before treatment were (712 ±148) μmol/L,(17.7 ±3.8) mmol/L,(47.1 ±12.4) ng/L,( 27.4 + 5.6 ) μ mol/L,respectively,and after treatment they were ( 324 ± 84 ) μ mol/L,( 7.4 ± 2.3 ) mmol/L,(15.6±5.1) ng/L,(11.1 ±2.2) μmol/L,there were statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusions HD combined with HP can effectively lighten the pruritus. It is worthy of clinical application.
2.Effect of alternariol monomethyl ether on the lipid peroxidation in the epithelia of fetal esophagus and stomach
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(01):-
The effect of Alternariol Monomethyl Ether (AME), a suspected carcinogen in human being, on the lipid peroxidation in the epithelia of fetal esophagus and stomach was studied. The epithelia of esophagus and stomach of human fetus induced labor with water-bag were treated with AME. Lipid peroxides were measured by thiobarbituric acid test for malondialdehyde (MDA). There was a positive correlation between the values of MDA levels and AME dosaeges. It demonstrated that the lipid peroxdation could be initiated with AME. Lipid peroxidation levels were increased following treatment time elongating. The values of MDA levels in esophagus were higher than those in stomach, which were treated with the same dosaege of AME. It showed that AME had an organ selectivity. These results indicate that AME may be one of genetoxic etiological factors of esophageal carcinoma in Linxian county.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2010;26(3):289-293
Polo-like kinase 1(PLK1)is a serine/threonine kinase which is highly conserved, and its activity is elevated in many human tumor cell lines.Lots of reports have shown that PLK1 is critical for all stages of mitosis. The newest report finds that PLK1 is required for DNA synthesis, maintenance of DNA integrity, and prevention of cell death.PLK1 physically binds to the tumor suppressor p53 in mammalian cultured cells, and inhibits its transactivation activity as well as its function in activate checkpoint protein and its pro-apoptotic function. Also PLK1 is involved in the development of tumors, and Polo-like kinase1(PLK1)regulates IFN induction by MAVS, breakdown the innate immunity. Various of inhibitors of PLK1 show the feature of high performance and low toxicity, suggesting that PLK1 may be a feasible target for cancer therapy and immunity therapy.

Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2012;35(19):28-29
Objective To investigate the related risk factors of prognosis in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) complicated with lung infection. Methods The clinical data of 84 cases with SLE complicated with lung infection were analyzed retrospectively.Multivariate Logistic regressive analysis was made with death and survival as the independent variable. Results There were 23 out of 84 patients dead, and fatality rate was 27.38%.Multivariate Logistic regressive analysis showed that the urine volume, immune globulin treatment, cyclophosphamide pulse therapy, plasma albumin and SLE disease activity (SLEDAI) score were the risk factors that influenced the prognosis (OR =0.53,0.72,4.29,0.94,1.58,respectively,P<0.0l or <0.05).Conclusions The prognosis of patients with SLE complicated with lung infection is the result of the joint action of many factors. The higher SLEDAI score and cyclophosphamide pulse therapy are the independent risk factors of the prognosis. The increase of plasma albumin level and urine production and immune globulin treatment are helpful to decrease the fatality rate.

Objective To establish a HPLC method for determining the content of Paeonol in Paeonia lactiflora Pall.. Methods Ultrasound and reflux methods were used to extract Paeonol in Paeonia lactiflora Pall., and then the content of Paeonol was determined by HPLC. It was performed on Agilent column ZORBAX SB-C18 (Stable Bond Analytical 4.6 mm?250 mm, 5 ?m), mobile phase was methanol-water (45∶55), flow rate was 1 mL/min, column temperature was 25 ℃, and detection wavelength was 274 nm. Results The regression equation was Y=1.01?105X-9.84?102, r=0.999 9 (n=5). The standard curve was linear within the range of 0.104~0.52 ?g for Paeonol. Conclusion The method is simple and accurate with good reproducibility. It is suitable for determining the content of Paeonol in Paeonia lactiflora Pall. and control the quality control of Paeonia lactiflora Pall. in process.

OBJECTIVE: To study the inhibitory effect of Longzhi extracts (extracts from a Chinese herbal compound) on the growth of transplanted hepatoma H22 and sarcoma S180 in mice. METHODS: Certain dosage of Longzhi extracts was dissolved into distilled water to obtain the suspension of definite concentration. The suspension of 0.2 ml was planted on the right forefoot of each mouse. The mice were randomly divided into groups 24 hours later and treated for 7 days. One day after the treatment stopped, the mice were sacrificed and the tumor masses were taken out and weighed. RESULTS: The inhibition rates of Longzhi extracts on the tumor of transplanted H22 and S180 were 63% and 41% respectively. CONCLUSION: Longzhi extracts has antitumor action.
