1."Probe into the preliminary application of micro-Seminar in ""Pediatric Nursing"" teaching"
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2015;31(11):841-844
Objective To reform the traditional teaching methods, and to explore the feasibility and effect of micro-seminar applied in Pediatric Nursing teaching. Methods A total of 151 undergraduate students of nursing admitted in the year of 2011 were selected as the experimental group, using micro-Seminar teaching method, while 152 undergraduate students of nursing admitted in the year of 2010 as historical control (the traditional teaching group). The application effect of micro-Seminar in Pediatric Nursing teaching was investigated and evaluated. Results Students of micro-seminar group got higher score in the final examination than students of the traditional teaching group [(81.34 ± 8.34) vs.(78.40 ± 8.03)],and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Micro-seminar was accepted by 92.7% of students of the experimental group as a new teaching method, and students unanimously affirmed it was beneficial to enhancing their individual abilities of learning, cooperation, communication, and expression. Conclusions Micro-seminar pedagogy could help cultivating students' comprehensive abilities and improving teaching effect and quality. As was high operability,micro-Seminar was worth applying and popularizing.
2.Changes of calcium transport of rat myocardial mitochondria during septic shock
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(04):-
In oeder to investigate the pathogenetic role of mitochondria in the patho-genesis of intracellular calcium overload in septic rat. The present study observed the cal-cium content and calcium influx into myocardial mitochondria on the early and late sepsisof rat produced by cecal ligature and puncture. The results showed that mitochondrialcalcium contents increased markedly in both early (180%) and late (330%) sepsis. Thecalcium transport capacity of mitochondria in late sepsis decreased dramatically (uptakedecreased 34.6%, uptake velocity lowered 33.3%, p
3.Risk factors analysis for the peptic ulcer bleeding in elderly patients
Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2011;30(4):310-312
Objective To explore the risk factors for peptic ulcer bleeding in elderly patients. Methods The 414 patients with upper gastrointestinal ulcer bleeding in Xuanwu Hospital from January 2001 to January 2006 were enrolled. The patients were divided into elderly group (≥ 60years,n= 183 ) and non-elderly group ( < 60 years,n= 231 ).The coexisting diseases and hemorrhage causes were compared and analyzed. Results The detection rate of coexisting diseases was significantly higher in elderly group than in non-elderly group (68.9% vs.10.0% ).The hemorrhage causes included the taking of drugs for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases or osteoarthropathy in elderly group. And the fatigue, stress and dietary upset were the main causes in non-elderly group.Helicobacter pylori infection rate was 35.0% in the elderly and 58.0% in young patients. Conclusions It is very important to promote rational use of anticoagulant drugs and analgesic agents in elderly patients for managing peptic ulcer complication.

Objective To investigate technique, effect, complications of limb salvage surgery for malignant tumors of the proximal tibia involving the fibula. Methods Between November 1998 and February 2010,32 patients with malignant tumors of the proximal tibia involving the fibula underwent limb salvage surgery in our institute. There were 21 males and 11 females, aged from 10 to 66 years (average,23.4years).There were 23 cases of osteosarcoma,5 cases of chondrosarcoma,1 case of malignant giant cell tumor, and 3 cases of soft tissue sarcoma. All patients received en bloc resection of tumor including proximal tibia and fibula.During operations, ligation of anterior tibial vessels was performed in 14 patients, anastomosis of posterior tibial vessels in 1 patient, both ligation of anterior tibial vessels and anastomosis or replacement of posterior tibial vessels in 5 patients. The common peroneal nerve was resected in 4 patients, and the deep peroneal nerve was resected in 5 patients. The reconstruction methods included prosthetic replacement in 24 patients, replacement with inactivated autograft-prosthesis composite in 5 patients, and replacement with inactivated autograft in 3 patients. The caput mediale musculi gastrocnemii flap was transferred to reconstruct soft tissue defect in 14 patients, while caput laterale musculi gastrocnemii flap was transferred in 1patient.Results All patients were followed up for 11 to 159 months (average,39.4 months).Local recurrence occurred in 6 patients (18.8%).The overall 5-year survival rate was 51.2%.Fourteen patients died of tumor metastasis,2 survived with tumor, and 16 patients survived without tumor.Variant complications occurred in 15 patients (46.9%).The complications included ischemia of the lower leg in 4 patients, peroneal nerve palsy in 12 patients (permanent palsy in 9 patients and temporary palsy in 3 patients),wound healing problem in 4 patients, deep infection in 1 patient, and periprosthetic fracture in 1 patient. The mean MSTS 93 score was 21.6 points (72%).Conculusion The indications of limb salvage surgery for malignant tumors of the proximal tibia involving the fibula should be restricted.Although complications are encountered frequently, most patients have acceptable postoperative function.

Microbiology 2008;0(09):-
The practice of English teaching of microbiology course using the original edition of Microbiology (Prescott LM et al., 5e, 2002) as textbook have been carried out for two years for undergraduate students majoring in Biology. The strengths of this book are comprehensive coverage, flexibility of organizing, and emphasis on the enhancing the overall ability of students. Its content is excellent with fundamental knowledge, systematic arrangement and up-to-date currency, which helps instructor to construct a suitable system in the course structure and curriculum, as well as to enrich the teaching content and to increase teaching effectiveness. The selection of original edition of English textbook in microbiology course is useful to train high-quality biological talents possessing international view and the adaptive ability of globalization process.

Objective To investigate the safety and efficacy of circumferential pulmonary vein linear ablation guided by 3-D mapping system in patients with atrial fibrillation. Methods From April 2003 to March 2006,410 consecutive patients with atrial fibrillation underwent circumferential pulmonary vein linear ablation guided by 3-D mapping system(CARTO system or EnSite NavX TM system).Success was defined as symptomatic atrial tachyarrhythmia free after 3 months washout period. Results 96%of the 410 patients attained the ablation endpoint. After a mean of (12.4?6.8)months' follow-up,clinical success achieved in 77.3% of the patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and 69.4% of the patients with persistent/permanent atrial fibrillation after first-time ablation procedure. The successs rate of the persistent/permanent atrial fibrillation was significantly lower than that of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.Forty-one of the 103 patients with recurrent atrial fibrillation underwent ablation again.Thirty-one of the 41 patients(75.6%)were atrial tachyarrhythmia free during the follow-up.Severe complications included 4 cases of pericardial tamponade(0.97%)and 3 cases of stroke(0.73%).Pericardial tamponades were relieved by pericardiocentesis. The patients with stroke recovered well without any lingering effects. There was no death case. Conclusion Circumferential pulmonary vein linear ablation guided by 3-D mapping system is an effective therapy for atrial fibrillation patients with an acceptable safety.
