Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of hemodialysis (HD) combined with hemoperfusion (HP) in the treatment of uremic pruritus.Methods The clinical data of 96 patients with uremic pruritus were analyzed retrospectively.All cases were treated with HD combined with HP.Results Pruritus score before and after treatment was (9.3 + 0.7) scores and (4.9 + 0.6) scores,respectively.And there was statistical significance (P ＜0.05).The erum creatinine,urea nitrogen,parathormone and β2 microglobulin before treatment were (712 ±148) μmol/L,(17.7 ±3.8) mmol/L,(47.1 ±12.4) ng/L,( 27.4 + 5.6 ) μ mol/L,respectively,and after treatment they were ( 324 ± 84 ) μ mol/L,( 7.4 ± 2.3 ) mmol/L,(15.6±5.1) ng/L,(11.1 ±2.2) μmol/L,there were statistical significance (P＜0.05).Conclusions HD combined with HP can effectively lighten the pruritus.It is worthy of clinical application.

This paper deals with the development of Paragonimus westermani (Kerbert, 1878) in mice inoculated with metacercariae or stunted adolescariae. In metacercaria-inoculated mice, all worms were stunted all the time, but when the stunted worms were orally transferred Into mice, some (8.4%) grew so fast that their rudimentory reproductive organs appeared and their length was over 3 times that of stunted worms 3 weeks post inoculation; while 91.6% of the recovered adolescariae were still stunted and morphologically similar to excysted metacercaiae. When the stunted worms were repeatedly transferred through mice by oral route 8.2-10.1% of the recovered worms developed quickly, while the remainder was still stunted (Table 1).After 3 transfers in mice, the stunted worms were still able to infect dogs orally and reach maturity (Table 2).On the basis of the study, it is postulated that cannibalism and preying among wild rats would enable P. westermani to be transferred among rodent paratenic hosts.

Objective To design a novel medical infrared real-time imaging system based on uncooled focal plane assembly(UFPA).Methods The hardware includes optics,infrared detector,thermal image acquisition & pre-treatment circuit and portable computer.The software includes original image data acquisition and correction module,image real-time treatment and display module,pseudo-color treatment module and image storage and off-line analysis module.Two points revising method was proposed aiming at the unevenness of pixel.Results Dispensing with refrigeration,the resolution of medical infrared real-time imaging system was 0.1℃.The measuring temperature ranged from-20℃ to 100℃ with ambient temperature ranging from 0℃～40℃.The real-time imaging speed was 25 frame/s.Conclusion The medical infrared real-time imaging system can form infrared image in real-time,which meets the requirement of clinical application.

The mechanism and pathophysiological progress of ischemia/reperfusion are complicated,and all the factors influence each other.This article summarized recent development on the related factors of inflammatory reaction mechanism.

The effect of Alternariol Monomethyl Ether (AME), a suspected carcinogen in human being, on the lipid peroxidation in the epithelia of fetal esophagus and stomach was studied. The epithelia of esophagus and stomach of human fetus induced labor with water-bag were treated with AME. Lipid peroxides were measured by thiobarbituric acid test for malondialdehyde (MDA). There was a positive correlation between the values of MDA levels and AME dosaeges. It demonstrated that the lipid peroxdation could be initiated with AME. Lipid peroxidation levels were increased following treatment time elongating. The values of MDA levels in esophagus were higher than those in stomach, which were treated with the same dosaege of AME. It showed that AME had an organ selectivity. These results indicate that AME may be one of genetoxic etiological factors of esophageal carcinoma in Linxian county.

Objective To investigate the protective effect and mechanisms of NF-?B decoy oli- godeoxynucleotides(ODNs)on rat liver graft following ischemia-reperfusion injury.Methods Ani- mals were randomly divided into 3 groups(n=8 in each group):control group,ischemia-reperfusion (IR)group,and decoy ODNs group,in which donor grafts were transfected with 120?g NF-?B decoy ODNs before graft procurement.Following 2 h of reperfusion,Kupffer cells(KCs)were isolated,and NF-?B biding activity was detected with electrophoretic mobility shift assay(EMSA),and TNF-?、IL- 6 mRNA expression was assayed by using RT-PCR method.Meanwhile,the liver and serum samples were collected,the histopathologic change of liver was examined by light microscope,and liver func- tion was analyzed.Results The NF-?B biding activity,TNF-?,IL-6 mRNA expression,and the ALT,TBIL levels in serum were significantly increased following 2 h of reperfusion in IR group as compared with those in control group(P＜0.01).A large amount of degeneration and necrosis in hep- atocytes accompanied with obvious congestion in hepatic sinusoid occurred.However,these tested in- dexes were significantly ameliorated in decoy ODNs group as compared with those in IR group(P＜0.01),and the architecture of hepatic lobules was remained.Conclusions KCs NF-?B activation fol- lowing reperfusion plays an important role in IRI in liver transplantation.Decoy strategy shows appar- ent effect on suppression of NF-?B activation,and thus inhibits the production of downstream cyto- kines,which protects the liver graft from IRI.

Objective To study if ganglioside (GLS) may promote the recovery the neurological deficits after cerebral ischemia in rats and the me chanism about it.Method Focal cerebral ischemia was made by a 3－ hour occlusion of the right middle cerebral artery(MCA)using nylon monofi1ament in rats and was fo1lowed by reperfusion.GLS was intraperitoneally administered 30 minutes and 3 hours after ischemia and daily during the observation period. Bederson's method was used to evaluate the neurological deficits. The activity of the neurotrophic factors (NTFs) in the periischemic brain tissue extract (BTE) and the effect of GLS on the activity were observed in cultured neuronsfrom the newbom rat cortex and basal ganglia.Result GLS improved the neurologicalfUnction recovery after cerebral ischemia. The BTE of GLS treatment groap supportedneuronal survival and promoted neurite outgrowth about l00 μ m. The number of neuronswas significantly higher in the presence of the BTE from treatment grouP as compared with the BTE from control group (P<0.05).Conclusion it indicated that GLS improved the recovery of the nevrological deficits by potentiating the activety of nevro trophic factors.

Purpose To investigate the MRI characteristics and differential diagnosis of intraventricular meningioma. Materials and Methods The clinical manifestation and MRI characteristics was retrospectively analyzed in the 11 patients with confirmed intraventricular meningioma by pathology. Results The intraventricular fibrocellular meningioma (7 cases) showed iso- and slightly short T1 signal and short and heterogeneously iso-T2 signal. The syncytial (1 case) and mixed (1 case) miningioma in the fourth ventricle, the syncytial meningioma in the third ventricle, and endothelial meningioma in the septum pellucidum (1 case) all showed slightly long T1 and slightly long T2 signal. Pathology results showed that 7 cases of fibrocellular meningioma in lateral ventricle, 1 case of syncytial meningioma and mixed type in the fourth ventricle, 1 case of syncytial meningioma in the third ventricle, 1 case of endothelial meningioma in septum pellucidum Conclusion The fibrocellular type was commonly encountered for the lateral ventricle meningioma, and hypointensity on T2WI could be regarded as its typical MRI characteristics, and it is diffcult for the differential diagnosis for the other intraventrical meningiomas.
