1.The Biology of Kaposi's Sarcoma-Associated Herpesvirus and the Infection of Human Immunodeficiency Virus
Virologica Sinica 2008;23(6):473-485
Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV),also known as human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8),is discovered in 1994 from Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) lesion of an acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)patient. In addition to its association with KS,KSHV has also been implicated as the causative agent of two other AIDS-associated malignancies:primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) and multicentric Castleman's disease (MCD).KSHV is a complex DNA virus that not only has the ability to promote cellular growth and survival for tumor development, but also can provoke deregulated angiogenesis, inflammation, and modulate the patient's immune system in favor of tumor growth. As KSHV is a necessary but not sufficient etiological factor for KS,human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a very important cofactor. Here we review the basic information about the biology of KSHV,development of pathogenesis and interaction between KSHV and HIV.
3.Expression of p73 and its correlation with Survivin in colon carcinoma
Journal of Chinese Physician 2010;12(11):1482-1484
Objective To study the expression of P73 and its relationship with expression of Survivin in colon carcinoma. Methods The expression of P73 and Survivin was studied by immunohistochemical technique in 46 cases of colon carcinoma and 12 cases of normal colon mucosa. Results The P73 expression rate of colon carcinoma was significant higher than that of normal colon mucosa(χ2 = 13.42, P <0.01 ). Overexpression of P73 was related to the pathological grade and Dukes stage ( ( χ2 = 8.01, P <0.01 ), and it was closely related to lymphatic metastasis of colon carcinoma( P <0.01 ). There was a positive relation between P73 and Survivin( rs =0.487, P <0.01 ). Conclusions The expression of P73 was closely associated with Survivin in colon carcinoma. The results suggested that the overexpression of P73 and Survivin was involved in the tumorigenesis and development of colon carcinoma and P73 and Survivin might be used as a new tumor marker in metastasis and prognosis of colon carcinoma.

7.Smoking status among grassroots healthcare workers in Shaoxing City
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2024;36(2):181-184
Objective:
To investigate the prevalence and influencing factors of smoking among grassroots healthcare workers in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide insights into effective implementation of tobacco control measures in primary healthcare organizations.
Methods:
Grassroots healthcare workers of community health service centers (health institutes) were sampled from four streets (townships) in each of 6 counties (cities, districts) in Shaoxing City using a stratified cluster sampling method from May to June 2023. Participants' demographics, current smoking and quit smoking information were collected through questionnaire surveys, and factors affecting current smoking among grassroots healthcare workers were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
Totally 2 801 questionnaires were allocated, and 2 595 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 92.65%. Participants included 719 men (27.71%) and 1 876 women (72.29%), with a mean age of (39.39±10.11) years. There were 119 current smokers and the prevalence of current smoking was 4.59%. The median number of cigarettes smoked per day was 10.00 (interquartile range, 14.25) and the median duration of smoking was 20.00 (interquartile range, 15.00) years. There were 52 people with intention to quit smoking (43.70%), and 51 people with attempts to quit smoking (42.86%). Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified men (OR=22.998, 95%CI: 10.912-48.473), alcohol consumption (OR=3.907, 95%CI: 2.528-6.037) and length of service (15 years and more, OR=3.115, 95%CI: 1.305-7.434) as factors affecting current smoking among grassroots healthcare workers.
Conclusions
The prevalence of current smoking among grassroots healthcare workers in Shaoxing City is 4.59%, and there is low willingness to quit smoking. Current smoking status may be affected by gender, alcohol consumption and length of service.

9.Current Situation and Demand Analysis of Rehabilitation Personnel by Stratified Sampling
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2019;25(7):859-864
Objective:To explore the problems and give reasonable advice by investigating the current situation and needs of rehabilitation professionals nationwide. Methods:This research investigated the rehabilitation institutions invested by Disabled Persons' Federation system, sanitary system, privately-run institutions and People's Insurance Company from March to July, 2015 to collect data of rehabilitation physicians and therapists, in which the questionnaire survey, expert consultation and on-spot investigation were used. Results:The survey issued 416 questionnaires, 329 questionnaires were recalled, and 261 out of them were eligible. The profession titles of rehabilitation professionals were generally low, 39.3% were below the primary profession title; rehabilitation professionals were lack of educational background, 34.2% were college degree or below; low salary lead to low competence to other industries, 66.4% employees were paid 2000 to 4000 Yuan (RMB) per month; rehabilitation institutions were most in need of rehabilitative physicians, speech therapists and psychotherapists; lack of professionals, lack of bonus and space limitation ranked the top three of the restrictive factors. Conclusion:At present, the contradiction that the quantity and quality of rehabilitation talents cannot meet the increasing demand of rehabilitation is becoming more and more prominent. To solve the root of the problem, we need to start with the cultivation of talents, and the government needs to give policy support, open green pass and give strong assistance in cultivation of talents, academic title evaluation, salary levels, and policy guarantee system of rehabilitation to promote the rapid, sustaining and healthy development of rehabilitation industry.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;11(11):2182-2184
BACKGROUND: It has been confirmed that platelet aggregation defect presents in patients with hemorrhagic thrombopathy, and platelet membrane glycoproteins play a significant role in the process of platelet aggregation.OBJECTIVE: To observe the expression changes of platelet membrane glycoproteins between patients with hemorrhagic thrombopathy and healthy people.DESIGN: Case-control analysis.SETTING: Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Science and Technology.PARTICIPANTS :① Seventy-nine patients with hemorrhagic thrombopathy who received treatment from January 2001 to March 2003 in the Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology were enrolled in this study. The patients, including 31 male and48 femlae, averaged (35.76±14.14)years old. They all agreed to participate in this study and met with the diagnosis of hemorrhagic thrombopathy revised in 1996.Informed consents were obtained from all the patients and their relatives. The course of multiple bleeding symptoms was 1 to 14 years. And the bleeding sites were totally 167: extremity petechia was found in 64 cases, rhinorrhagia in 33 cases, hypermenorrhea (more than 150 mL in each cycle) in 29 cases, gingival bleeding in 28 cases, ocular fundus bleeding in 8 cases and conjunctival hemorrhage in 5 cases.②lnclusive criteria: All the cases presented clinical manifestation of multiple focal bleeding; The laboratory tests including platelet counts, bleeding time and coagulation profiles were examined with no marked abnormal changes;According to hemorrhage sites, the patients were examined by specialists of internal medicine, otorhinolaryngology, gynecology, stomatology and ophthalmology, and no specific diagnostic focuses of infection were found; They had normal blood pressure and heart rate, and those with thrombocytasthenia had been ruled out through ristocetin test. ③Another 34 healthy volunteer donors, 15 males and 19 females with an average age (30.12±7.14) years, were selected as normal control group.METHODS:① Detection of platelet aggregation ratio: Adenosine diphosphate (ADP, final concentration 1.90 μmol/L),arachidonic acid(AA, final concentration 0.37 μmol/L),and platelet activating factor(PAF, final concentration 150 nmol/L)were used as aggregation inductors, and Chronolog 430 type aggregometry was used to detect platelet maximum agglutination ratio. When maximum agglutination ratio was within 21% and 40%, it was considered as aggregation defect, and when below 20%, it was considered as aggregation absence.② Test of platelet membrane glycoprotein: 3.6 mL cubital venous blood was drawn from the patients and mixed with 20 g/L disodium ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA-NA2) for the purpose of anticoagulation at 1:9, and the same procedure was performed on the blood samples from the normal control group. The plasma was isolated and collected, after being centrifuged, the supernatant liquid was discarded, and paraform was added to fix the rest of the platelet solution. The platelet concentration was adjusted to 3×107 L-1. 100 μL regulated platelet solution was extracted, and fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-marked CD42b (anti-GP Ⅰ b),CD41 (anti-GP Ⅱ b), CD61 (anti-GP Ⅲ a), CD42b/CD42a (anti-GP Ⅰ b/Ⅸ ), CD41/ CD61 (anti-GP Ⅱ b/Ⅲ a) and CD62p(anti-P-selectin)clonal antibodies 200 μL were added respectively and well mixed, and then cultured for 30 minutes at room temperature away from light. Finally phosphate buffer solution was added to the solution till the volume reached 1 mL,and FACS420 flow cytometer was used to analyze the samples, one sample for 10000 platelets, and the results were demonstrated by positive fluorescence percentage.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Platelet aggregation ratio. ② Expression of platelet membrane glycoproteins.RESULTS:All the patients and the healthy subjects were involved in the analysis of results. ①All the cases were found to have platelet aggregation defect or absence which could be induced by single or more platelet aggregating agents. No abnormal platelet aggregations were found in the control group. ② The fluorescence intensities of GPIb/Ⅸ, GP Ⅱ b/Ⅲa complexes, GPIb, GPⅢa and P-selectin in patients with hemorrhagic thrombopathy were lower than those in the healthy subjects (t =2.50-5.57,all P < 0.05). The fluorescence intensity of GP Ⅱb in patients with hemorrhagic thrombopathy was slightly higher than that in the healthy subjects, but no significant difference was found. (t =0.86, P >0.05).CONCLUSION: Abnormal expressions of platelet membrane glycoproteins may be partial pathogenesis of hemorrhagic thrombopathy.
