1.Effects of hypoxia and air microembolism of the lung on pulmonary pressor response and lung fluid exchange in conscious goats
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(01):-
The effects of hypoxia and air microembolism on pulmonary pressor response and lung fluid exchange were studied in eight conscious goats with chronic lung lymph fistula. The results indicate: (1). The site of pulmonary vasoconstriction induced by hypoxia may be precapillary. Hypoxia (4000m-simulated high altitude) induces no pulmonary microvascular injury. (2). Air microembolism results in elevation in Ppa and increase in pulmonary microvascular permeability, (3). Air microembolism in hypoxic animal induces further increase in Ppa. But the amplitude of pressor response induced by hypoxia in combination with air microembolism is not the summation of those induced by either of them acting separately. (4). Hypobaric hypoxia(4000m-simulated high altitude) does not aggravate air microembolism-induced lung injury.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(02):-
Male guinea pigs were placed on ordinary or high lipid diet for 30-36 weeks with various amounts of ascorbic acid (Vc) intake. The daily dose of low level intake was 0.7-1.2mg. The normal one was 2.5-5mg. The high dose was 30-45mg. The various amounts of Vc intake did not affect the cholesterol contents in serum and liver. The animals fed low level Vc were without "overt signs of deficiency, but morphological changes of aorta were developed in these animals either on ordinary or high lipid diet. On high lipid diet, the pathological changes of the vessels (aorta and arteriols in cardiac muscles) of animals fed low level of Vc were more severe than those of animals fed normal level, and those of animals fed high dose were the least severe. The result of this study suggested that the presence of a link between Vc and the integrity of the vessels. Prolonged low intake of YC may be regarded as being one of the causal factors in the development of arteriosclerosis. The requirements of Vc for subjects with high cholesterol level may be more than those of normal subjects.

Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2017;25(7):621-625
Objective To investigate the features of female sexual dysfunction (FSD) in type 2 diabetic patients (T2DM)and to analyze its risk factors. Methods According to FSFI indexes in the sexual function questionnaire,227 female T2DM patients were divided into DM group without FSD [n=144,FSFI≥25] and DM+FSD group[n=83,FSFI<25]. 80 healthy women served as normal controls. The risk factors for FSD were analyzed using logistic regression analysis. Results The occurrence of FSD was 36.6%(83/227) in female T2DM patients. The levels of FSH,TSTO and LH were higher, and E2 was lower in DM+FSD group and DM group than those in NC group(P<0.01),but there was no statistical significance between DM+FSD group and DM group(P>0.05). The score of sexual desire[(2.54±0.58) vs (3.76±0.90) vs (4.59±1.22) score],sexual arousal[(2.30±0.42) vs (3.57±0.85) vs (4.81±1.00) score],vaginal lubricate[(3.35±0.29) vs (4.46±1.32) vs (5.14±0.83) score],orgasm[(2.75±0.68) vs (3.40±1.86) vs (4.02±1.25)score] and total score [(17.94±4.15) vs (24.71±6.33) vs (28.13±5.78) score] were lower in DM+FSD group and DM group than those in NC group. The score of sexual satisfaction[(3.45±1.68) vs (4.94±0.93),(4.99±0.86)score] and pain[(3.55±0.50) vs (4.58±0.47),(4.58±0.62)score] were lower in DM+FSD group than those in DM group and NC group(P<0.05),but there was no statistical significance between DM group and NC group(P>0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that age,BMI and HbA1c were risk factors for FSD in T2DM patients (P=0.029,0.001,0.022,respectively). Conclusion The occurrence of FSD is common in female type 2 diabetic patients. BMI and HbA1c are the main risk factors for FSD.

Objective To explore the role of team-based learning(TBL)in the teaching of pe-riodontics for undergraduates. Methods Totally 38 2008 grade undergraduates majored in stomatology were divided into six groups according to previous test scores. Individual test, group test and group re-sponder were conducted successively . Average test scores before and intra class were calculated and questionnaires survey was conducted after the course. Results There was no significant correlation be-tween average test scores intra class and basic knowledge and preview effect(r=0.028,P>0.05). Ques-tionnaire survey demonstrated that learning motivation, learning interests, knowledge mastering and com-munication ability of students were significantly improved. Conclusion TBL teaching promotes the class-room atmosphere and improves team collaboration and learning enthusiasm. Students show high accep-tance for this new teaching modes,so it can be tried in the teaching of stomatology.

Pressed biscuits were fortified with gelatin encapsulated VA powder, VC phosphate Mg and VB2 tetrabutyrate. The biological effects of these vita-rains were examined by human experiments. In 7 days of the experimental period, the subjects of the 1st group (10 male adults) took the fortified biscuit freely which contained 7500 IU VA powder, 5.16 mg B2 tetrabutyrate ( = 3mg VB2) and 308mg VC phosphate ( = 140 mgVC) in 750 g. The 2nd group took 250 g biscuit freely containing the same amount of vitamin and unfortified pressed biscuit. The 3rd group took only the unfortified ones freely. 5 days before or after fhe experimental period the subjects ate vitamin restricted diets. The nutritional status of VB2 was estimated by 24 hrs. urinary VB2 values, that of VC by urinary and fasting plasma VC levels, and that of VA by fasting plasma VA values. The urinary levels of VB2, VC and plasma values of VC of group 1 and 2 at the end of the experimental period were significantly higher than those of the pre-experimental period. They were also higher than those of group 3. On the 5th day of the post-experimental period, the status of VB2 and VC of group 1 and 2 was still better than that of group 3. Because the subjects were not in VA deficiency, the plasma levels of VA were kept steady. The stabilities of these vitamins in the fortified pressed biscuit were compared with those of ordinary vitamins. Stored in 85% RH 32℃ for 20 months, encapsulated VA powder retained 76%, VC phosphate 84%, but the ordinary VA only 14%, VC 29%. Stored in room temp. 75% RH for 2 years, the VA encapsulated powder retained 73%, VC phosphate 96%, but ordinary VA only 8%, VC 22.3%. In room temp. for 2 years, encapsulated VA powder retained 87%, VC phosphate almost did not lost, but ordinary VA retained 8%, VC retained 25% only. The stability of the VB2 tetrabutyrate was almost the same as that of VB2. It was shown by the guinea pig growth experiment that VC phosphate in pressed biscuit stored 20 months possessed the same biological effect as VC crystal.

This paper is to report our results of the observation on the changes of the pulmonary water content of the rats and mice after their exposure to a simulated altitude of 6000 meters above sea level for seven days.It was found that the changes of the pulmonary water content varied with the duration of exposing to the high altitude. It was lower than the control value on the first day of exposure, and then it increased approaching or even being a little higher than the control value on the second and third day. But it decreased and was below the control value again from the fourth day to the seventh day. The lung weight was increasing continuously in the same period. In addition, there were progressive increase of both the wet-lung/body and dry-lung/body indices, progressive decrease of left/right ventricles ratio, and gradual rising of hemoglobin in the animals studied.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 1983;0(04):-
Rats were made to bleed and about 40% of the total blood volume was lost. A replacement of Ringer's solution of the volume four times the lost blood volume was given and the animals were closely monitored for 24 hours. The hemoglobin level of the animals was low throughout the course of observation. The plasma colloid osmotic pressure reached the lowest point 15 minutes after bleeding, and then gradually rising up returned to a level about 90% of the control value at the end of 24 hours. The relativity between the plasma colloid osmotic pressure and the lung water content was quite significant in those rats in a low altitude environment (P0.05).The result indicates that the increased lung water content due to decreased plasma osmotic pressure could not be made further worse by hypoxia due to high altitude. The characteristic pulmonary hemodynamic changSs caused by hypoxia might be considered as the explanation of the phenomenon.

Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) plus oxygenmedicine (OM) on the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in the hippocampal CA 1 area in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury (CI/RI) rats. Methods Thirty SD rats were randomized into sham-operation,model,EA,OM,EA+OM groups (n=6/group). CI/RI model was established by using modified Pulsinelli 4 vessel occlusion and reperfusion. EA (100 Hz,3.5 mA) was applied to "Baihui" (GV 20) and "Zusanli" (ST 36) 30 min, once daily for 4 days. Rats of OM and EA+OM groups were put into a box filled with oxygen and atomized herbal medicines containing Bingpian (Borneolum),Shexiang (Moschus),Huangjing (Rhizoma Polygonati),Shouwu (Radix Polygoni Multiflori),etc. for 30 min, once daily for 4 days. Bcl-2 and Bax expression of the hippocampal CA 1 area was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results Compared with sham group, the numbers of Bcl-2 immunoreaction (IR) and Bax IR positive cells, and the immunoactivity of Bcl-2 IR and Bax IR positive products in the hippocampal CA 1 area were increased significantly in model group (P0.05). Conclusion EA and OM and EA+OM can effectively regulate the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in the hippocampal CA 1 area in CI/RI rats, and the effects of EA+OM are significantly superior to those of simple EA and simple OM,which may contribute to their effect in improving cerebral ischemia.
