The monitoring of total toxicity of water is of great importance to guarantee the safety of drinking water and estimate the level of water pollution from multiple pollutants. Here, we reported an online equipment for monitoring toxicity of water, where in-site cultured microorganisms were used as the test organism and respiratory inhibition of microorganisms was regarded as the toxicity response.A three-electrode electrochemical detector was integrated in the equipment, where an array electrode composed of microsized Pt disks, a Ag/AgCl (3 mol/L KCl) electrode and a gold wire were used as the working, reference and counter electrodes, respectively. The average respiratory inhibition ratios obtained with this equipment for 5.0, 10.0, 20.0 mg/L 3,5-dichlorophenol (DCP) were 24.4%, 48.9% and 59.2%, respectively. The equipment was further used for continuous online monitoring of the total toxicity of underground water, and successfully showed the toxicity alarm when challenged randomly by toxicity samples containing 5.0 mg/L DCP.The present results suggested the good promise of the equipment in online monitoring of water total toxicity.

The department of radiology, as one of the public platforms for standardized residency training, is very crucial to the training of high level clinicians and essential to improve quality of medical care. According to the present situation and existing problems of standardized residency training for the non-imaging professional residents in the department of radiology in China, combining with our practice, this article primarily explores the improvement of the rules and regulations, the specific arrangement of the rotation, daily and graduation examination forms, and training quality supervision, etc. We hope to improve the training quality of the non-imaging professional residents' rotation in the department of radiology and explore more suitable and effective medical educative strategies.

Objective To explore the influences of protection sleeve of venous indwelling needle on patients with limb trauma and its impact on anxiety. Methods A total of 152 patients with limb trauma were divided into control group (fixed by 3M transparent dressing and tape after successful puncture) and observation group (routine nursing care of indwelling needle + fixed by nylon elastic mesh sleeve) according to admission sequence. One week after intravenous transfusion, patients were evaluated by self-rating anxiety scale ( SAS ) developed by William W. K. Zung. Patients′satisfaction was investigated by questionnaires during hospitalization. We also compared the score of SAS, sleep quality, indwelling needle drop-off, phlebitis, condition of tube blocking as well as patients′satisfaction during hospitalization between two groups. Results Cases with anxiety in observation group (11 cases) were less than that in the control group (23 cases) with a significant difference (P<0. 05). Times of indwelling needle dropping off in the observation group were less than that in the control group (P<0. 05). Satisfaction with nursing in the observation group was better than that in the control group (P<0. 05). There was no significant difference between two groups in conditions of phlebitis and tube blocking (P>0. 05). Conclusions The use of nylon elastic mesh sleeve based on routine nursing care of indwelling needle can effectively prevent the indwelling needle from dropping off. It also obviously alleviates the anxiety of patients with trauma, improves sleep quality, makes patients safe and comfortable and improves satisfactions with nursing.

Objective To analyze the effect of diabetes mellitus (DM) on the prognosis of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after receiving transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE).Methods A total of 858 HCC patients, who were admitted to the Affiliated Xinhua Hospital,School of Medicine,Shanghai Jiaotong University,China, during the period from January 2010 to June 2015 to receive TACE,were selected.Among the 858 HCC patients,175 patients suffered from coexisting DM (DM group) and 683 patients had no DM (non-DM group). The differences in general clinical data and overall survival between the two groups were analyzed.Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate the survival rate, the difference between the two groups was evaluated by log-rank method, and Cox proportional hazards regression was adopted to analyze the prognostic factors of HCC patients after receiving TACE.Results There were no statistically significant differences in sex, age, serum albumin, total bilirubin, prothrombin time, alpha fetoprotein (AFP),Child-Pugh grade, tumor size and number, cirrhosis, number of TACE treatment times and BCLC staging between the two groups (P>0.05);the fasting blood glucose (FPG)level in DM group was higher than that in non-DM group (P<0.05).The 1-,3-and5-year survival rates of the DM group were 60.9%,27.5% and 10.7% respectively, which were 70.9%,36.0% and 17.6% respectively in the non-DM group;the Log-rank test showed that the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P=0.008).Multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression analysis revealed that the largest tumor diameter >5 cm,multiple tumor lesions,AFP>20 ng/ml,BCLC stage and coexisting DM were independent risk factors that affected the prognosis of HCC patients after receiving TACE.Conclusion The coexisting DM is an independent risk factor that may affect the prognosis of patients with inoperable HCC after receiving TACE.

OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical efficacy of endoscopic type Ⅰ tympanoplasty in patients with chronic suppurative otitis media accompanied by fungal otitis media.METHODS Based on the symptom characteristics of the external auditory canal and tympanic mucosa,80 patients were divided into four groups:dry ear without fungi group, dry ear with fungi group, wet ear without fungi group, and wet ear with fungi group.Record its clinical characteristics.Patients with fungal otitis externa should receive medication treatment during the perioperative period.Failure to heal the tympanic membrane repaired 6 months after surgery, recurrent perforation of the graft,and/or persistent inability to dry the ear are considered repair failures.RESULTS A total of 80 patients were included in this study, and the overall healing rate of the tympanic membrane in the four groups of patients was 98.8%.There was no significant difference in the postoperative tympanic membrane healing rate among the four groups of patients. The postoperative air bone conduction difference in all four groups of patients decreased compared to preoperative levels, but the difference was not statistically significant.CONCLUSION Patients with chronic suppurative otitis media accompanied by fungal otitis media undergoing type Ⅰ tympanoplasty showed no decrease in tympanic membrane healing rate and no significant improvement in efficacy.
