In 1991, the World Health Organization (WHO) joined hands with the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to establish World Diabetes Day. The purpose of this day is to increase awareness of diabetes worldwide. In December 2006, the United Nations (UN) adopted resolution 61/225, establishing World Diabetes Day as an internationally observed event, and all the countries of the world have increased their efforts in the prevention, management, treatment and sustaining healthcare system. The blue circle was developed originally for the campaign associated with the UN Resolution on diabetes. The circle symbolizes life, health and unity. The blue border of the circle represents the color of the sky and the flag of the United Nations. World Diabetes Day is on the 14th of November in memory of the birthday of Dr. Frederick Banting, and has been held every year since 2007.

Based on a survey of community health service organization in several cities, community health service model based on the family clinic was compared with state-owned community health service model, and status quo, advantages and problems of family community health service organization were analyzed. Furthermore, policies for the management of community health service organization based on the family clinic were put forward.

Publication bias has a negative impact on the ability of healthcare providers and consumers to make unbiased healthcare decisions. The demand for greater transparency of clinical trials has increased and a prospective registry has been suggested by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. By 2008, prospective registration was considered as an ethical requirement within the Declaration of Helsinki. In Korea, the clinical research registry named 'Clinical Research Information Service (CRIS)' was recently established and became a data provider as a primary registry to the World Health Organization (WHO) International Clinical Trial Registry Platform search portal. This means that CRIS conforms to the WHO registry criteria and that registering trials with the CRIS satisfies the trial registration policies of many medical journals. To improve the comprehensiveness and completeness of registered clinical research data, it is necessary to communicate and raise awareness of the need to register clinical trials, as well as to establish national policies on clinical trial registration.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the new rural cooperative medical system in Hunan from 2003 to 2009 and to provide reference for scientific decision making. METHODS: We dynamically analyzed the participation rate, fund raising and fund operation efficiency of the new rural cooperative medical system in the past 7 years. RESULTS: From 2003 to 2009, the participation rate increased from 60.7% to 91.22%, funding increased from 30 to 100 yuan/person, degree of hospitalization income from 26.75% to 41.63%, hospitalization rate from 4.57% to 8.26%, and cost of hospitalization times from 2389.46 to 2518.00 yuan. CONCLUSION Implementation of the new rural cooperative medical system is indeed a boon to farmers, and the enthusiasm of farmers' participation is significantly improved. We must strengthen the supervision of the designated medical institutions, to effectively reduce health care cost and the burden of medical expense of farmers.
