Objective To evaluate the life quality of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma after intensity modulated radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Method Using phenomenological research method, we interviewed 10 patients repeatedly to explore their somatization, psychological changes as well as the effect on quality of life. Result The life quality of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma after intensity modulated radiotherapy and chemotherapy were affected tremendously , characterized by intense psychological stress, side effects from radiochemotherapy, hunger for emotional support, heavy burden of medical expenses, and the change of family and work roles. Conclusion Nursing staff should understand the mental feelings of patients, and provide supports for the patients psychologically, physically, from the economic, family and social points of view, so as to improve the life quality and physical and mental health of patients.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of skin scraping in reducing nursing staff’s fatigue. Methods Seventy-one clinical nursing staff were randomly allocated to a treatment group of 36 cases and a control group of 35 cases. Both groups were given the same health education and psychological counseling. The treatment group received skin scraping along the Du Meridian and the Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang in addition and the control group, no intervention. An evaluation was made using the Fatigue Scale-14 (FS-14) and the PSQI in the two groups before and after treatment. Results There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in the FS-14 item scores (physical fatigue score, mental fatigue score and total fatigue score) in the two groups (P<0.05). There was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in the PSQI score in the treatment group (P<0.05). There were statistically significant post-treatment differences in the physical fatigue score, the total fatigue score and the PSQI score between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05).Conclusions Skin scraping can effectively reduce nursing staff’s fatigue, and improve sleep quality.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Jin 's three-needle manipulation combined with rehabilitation therapy for post-stroke shoulder-hand syndrome(SHS).Methods Eighty-two post-stroke SHS patients were randomized into the treatment group(N =42) and the control group(N =40).The treatment group received Jin 's three-needle manipulation combined with rehabilitation therapy, and the control group received rehabilitation therapy alone. The pain score was evaluated with Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),the score of upper-limb function was evaluated with simplified Fugl-Meyer Assay, and the movement of shoulder joint was measured with conimeter. Results The pain was relieved,upper-limb function was improved, and the movement of shoulder joint was increased to some extent after treatment in both groups(P

Objective To investigate the incidence and influencing factors of healthcare-associated infection (HAI) in inpatients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma during radiotherapy period. Methods The occurrence of HAI among patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma in a tertiary first-class cancer hospital in Jiangsu Province between July 2012 and June 2014 were analyzed retrospectively. Results A total of 1 396 patients were investigated, the incidence of HAI was 2.29%,case incidence of HAI was 2.44%.The most common infection site was oral mucosa (n =24, 70.59%),and most infection occurred 2-4 weeks after the start of the radiotherapy.A total of 38 pathogenic iso-lates were isolated,24 (63.16%)were gram-positive bacteria,12 (31 .58%)were gram-negative bacteria, and 2 (5.26%)were fungi.Incidences of HAI were high in patients >50 years old, with chemotherapy, length of hospital stay>60 days, and used at least 2 kinds of antimicrobial agents (all P <0.05).Conclusion Prevention and control of HAI in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma during radiotherapy period should be strengthened, especially for the elderly, patients with chemotherapy, long length of hospital stay, and extensive use of antimicrobial agents.

Objective To investigate the anticoagulant effect of polysaccharides from the heads of Rana temporaria chensinensis(Chinese Forest Frogs). Methods In-vitro experiments were applied to test the effect of polysaccharides on recalcification time, prothrombin time, thrombase time , the activities of thrombin, hydrolyzing fibrin content, activated fibrin dissolve zymogen and blood clotting.. In the in-vivo experiment, bleeding time was measured by cutting mouse tail and clotting time was measured by glass sheet method. Results The polysaccharides from the heads of Chinese Forest Frogs had an obvious anticoagulant effect in a dose-effect manner, but had on thrombolytic action. It could prolong the bleeding time and the clotting time in vivo. Condusion The polysaccharides from the heads of Chinese Forest Frogs have the anticoagulatant activities in vitro and in vivo.

Objective To study the appearance of skin mucous glycoprotein in vitro on the activity of human lung cancer cells A549. Methods Used alkali extraction and DEAE-52 ion exchange chromatography and Sephadex G-100 gel chromatography purification salamander mucous glycoprotein; Salamander mucous glycoprotein inhibition of human lung cancer cells A549 was detected by MTT colorimetric method in vitro.ResuIts It showed that the total sugar content in the appearance of mucus was 4.23%, the relatively pure glycoprotein component, by SDS protein electrophoresis tests, it contained a single glycoprotein component, its molecular weight was about 30 kDa.With glycoprotein pure concentration increased from 1,10, 20,40μg/mL, the glycoprotein inhibition rate of A549 cells increased; when the glycoprotein concentration was 40 μg/mL, for 24 h action, the inhibition rate of A549 cells was up to 85.66 %, while the role of 48 h, the inhibition rate of A549 cells was up to 92.32%.Inhibition effect of mucus glycoprotein on A549 cell compared with positive control drug, had significant difference.ConcIusion Salamander mucus glycoproteins of human lung cancer cells has obvious inhibitory effect, can provide theoretical basis for the development of lung cancer drug resistance.

AIM: To investigate the association between HBV infection and HLA-DPB1 gene in population of Guangzhou Chinese. METHODS: 58 unrelated patients (test positive of HbsAg,HBeAg,HbcAb) and 75 unrelated healthy control individuals were typed by sequencing based typing (SBT) method in their HLA-DPB1 gene. RESULTS: The phenotype frequencies of HLA-DPB1 alleles of patients and control have no significant difference. CONCLUSION: These results indicate that there is no association between HLA-DPB1 gene and HBV infection.

OBJECTIVETo make a comparative study of HLA-DQA1 and HLA-DRB1 allele frequencies in the cases of endometriosis and adeonmyosis.
METHODSThe allelic types of HLA-DQA1 and HLA-DRB1 were detected by polymerase chain reaction-sequence specific primers (PCR-SSP) technique in 51 cases of endometriosis, 45 cases of adenomyosis, and 44 normal individuals as the control.
RESULTSThe frequencies of HLA-DQA1*0401(7.8%, 10.0%) were significantly increased in the endometriosis group and the adenomyosis group (Pc=0.03, Pc=0.01), and the frequencies of HLA-DQA1*0301(8.8%, 5.6%) were significantly decreased in these two groups (Pc=0.00, Pc=0.00).There was no significant difference between the frequencies of HLA-DQA1 and HLA-DRB1 of endometriosis and adenomyosis.
CONCLUSIONThe results indicate that HLA-DQA1*0301 and *0401 alleles are associated with both endometriosis and adenomyosis, and there is perhaps common mechanism involved in both endometriosis and adenomyosis based on HLA-DQA1 and HLA-DRB1 allele frequencies.
