The Department of Surgery of this hospital in cooperation with Chongqing Changjiang Rubber Plant has successfully developed the batch of China-made Fogarty balloon catheter, Exporime-ntswere performed on 14 dogs to investigate the acute damage to arterial and venous walls. The results indicated that the damage was slight. Therefore, we consider that the China-made Fogarty balloon catheter can be safely used in the clinic
3.Biomechanical Basics of Thoraco-Lumbar Fracture-Dislocation with Paraplegia Treated by Improved Luque's Rod Fixation
Chinese Journal of Trauma 1991;0(01):-
With a spreader and improved Luque's Rod segmental fixation, operative reduction for thoraco-lumbar fracture was conducted in 60 cases of theoraco-lumbar fracture-dislocation concomitant with paraplegia. The procedure is helpful to rehabilitation exercises and the reault is satisfactory. The mechanical condition on Luque's Rod and vertebra complex and antideformity mechanism of the improved fixation has been analysed to study the merits of this new proceedure. The improved Lugue's Rod fixation was compared with the original one in the facture of thorac-lumbar spine.
4.CELL APOPTOSIS AND VASCULAR DISEASE
Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2001;8(3):202-204
Objective To study the relationship between cell apoptosis and vascular disease. Methods The paper reviewed the concept, character, gene control and signal transduction of apoptosis associated with vascular disease. Results Cytokine, radiation could induce apoptosis of endothelial cells, and caused vascular damage. The apoptosis of smooth muscle cells was related to the atherosclerosis and restenosis of vessels. Conclusion Cells apoptosis is related to vascular disease significantly.

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2000;0(12):-
Objective To introduce the effect of estrogen on the vascular endothelial cells and on the development of Buerger's disease. Methods The relative papers were summarized with and made a literature reviewing. Results The physiological level estrogen in vivo has protective effects on the vascular endothelial cells; however, the high level of estrogen in vivo can hurt the vascular endothelial cells, which is an important factor in the development of Buerger's disease. Conclusion Investigation of the mechanism of high level of estrogen in Buerger's patients would have a favor effect on the prevention and treatment of Buerger's disease.

Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2003;0(03):-
Objective To explore the relationship among plasma cytokines’ level, adhesion molecules expression and skin damage in patients with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) of lower extremities. Methods In 32 patients with CVI and 8 normal individuals as control, blood TNF ?, IL 1? and IL 2R were assayed with ELISA method; serum endothelial cell intercellular adhesion molecule 1(EC ICAM 1), polymorphonuclear CD 18 (PMN CD 18 ) and polymorphonuclear CD 11b (PMN CD 11b ) were assayed with immunohistochemical method; and ultrastructure of diseased veins was examined by electroscope. Results The results showed that the level of plasma TNF ? and IL 1? increased remarkably in Class 2-3 compared with Class 1 and control ( P 0.05) . The index of EC ICAM 1 and PMN CD 11b positively expression increased remarkably in Class 2-3 compared with that in Class 1 and control. The index of PMN CD 18 expression in Class 2-3 and Class 1 was greatly higher than that in control ( P
7.Relationship Between Nuclear Factor-Kappa B and Restenosis after Angioplasty
Guangbin HUANG ; De SHI ;
Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2003;0(04):-
Objective To discuss the role of nuclear factor kappa B in restenosis after angioplasty. Methods Related literatures of recent 5 years were reviewed. Results Nuclear factor kappa B could lead to hyperplasia of vascular intima which resulted from proliferation and decrease of apoptosis of vascular smooth muscle cells. Conclusion Nuclear factor kappa B plays an important role in restenosis after angioplasty.
8.Nuclear Factor-?B and Colon Cancer
Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2003;0(02):-
Objective To explore the relationship between nuclear factor ?B (NF ?B) and the occurrence, metastasis, and treatment of colon cancer. Methods The literature on the structure and the property of molecular biology of NF ?B, the relationship between NF ?B and apopotosis, malignant tumor and colon cancer were reviewed. Results NF ?B had action of antiapopotosis. The occurrence of malignant tumor had close relation with the oncogene by NF ?B, the metastasis of malignant tumor was that cell of cancer escaped the killing and supervising of immunity by NF ?B. NF ?B affected the occurrence and metastasis of colon cancer by regulating c myc, Cox2, ICAM 1.Conclusion NF ?B has important action in the occurrence and metastasis of colon cancer. It will become a new target of treatment.
9.Analysis of Risk Factors of Recurrent Inguinal Hernia by Cox Proportional Hazard Regression Model
Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2003;0(03):-
Objective To retrospectively analyze the risk factors of recurrent groin hernia. Methods Data came from all hernia repairs recorded in our hospital between 1991 and 2001. A total of 1 082 cases of groin hernia was analyzed through Cox proportional hazard model to determine the relative risks between recurrence and mode of admission, types of groin hernia, repair methods (traditional/tension free hernioplasty), and post operative complications. Results From 1991 to 2001,1 082 groin hernia operations were performed in our hospital, 88.9% for primary hernia and 11.2% for recurrent hernia. As compared with traditional hernia repair methods, Lichtenstein’s tension free hernioplasty technique had less relative risk for recurrent hernia repair than that for primary hernia repair. Postoperative complications and indirect hernia were linked to an increased relative risk for recurrence. Conclusion There are many factors affecting the recurrence of inguinal hernia, but the use of tension free hernia repair may decrease re recurrence of recurrent hernia.
10.Adventitia applied slow-releasing triptolide inhibits intima hyperplasia in vein graft
Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2000;0(12):-
Objective To investigate the inhibitory effect of appling slow-releasing triptolide on adventitia on the intima hyperplasia of autologous vein graft. Methods In 24 male New Zealand rabbits, external jugular vein to common carotid artery models were established, and then were divided into 3 equal groups at random: blank-control group, receiving no management on adventitia of the vein graft; F-127 control group, receiving local application of 0.5 mL of 20 % F-127 on adventitia of the vein graft; experiment group, receiving local application of 0.5 mL of 20 % F-127 containing triptolide 300?g. Vein graft specimens were harvested at 2 weeks after the operation. Histomorphologic methods were used to detect the degree of intima hyperplasia of the specimens. The expression of bcl-2 and Fas of the specimens was detected by immunohistochemistry. The apoptosis vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) were detected by TUNEL.Results Two weeks after vein grafting, compared to blank-control group and F-127 control group, intima hyperplasia of experiment group [intima thickness (29.9?7.6)?m, I/M 0.56?0.08] was markedly inhibited (P
