1.Blood purification treatment for acute paraquat poisoning
Chinese Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2015;22(8):571-573
Paraquat is a commonly used herbicide, which can cause acute poisoning due to misusage or suicide. The mortality of acute paraquat poisoning is high, the prognosis is poor, and there is no specific an-tidote for the poisoning. Most scholars believe that early blood purification is the first choice for the treatment of acute paraquat poisoning. However, there is not a unified standard about what kind of blood purification methods and the specific parameters should be taken for the different periods of paraquat poisoning.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(04):-
Objective To evaluate the feasibility and clinical efficacy of selective mini-incision procedure for superficial varicose veins of lower extremities. Methods A total of 89 patients with local superficial varicose veins (101 veins) treated in this hospital from January 1998 to July 2003 entered the study.Stetho-Doppler and finger pressure examination were performed preoperatively in all the patients to locate the malfunctioned venous valves.Ligation of communicating veins combined with saphenectomy was carried out by way of mini-incision under local anesthesia. Results The sutured wounds in all the patients healed by first intention.Out of 36 limbs with swelling and heaviness, symptoms disappeared in 29 limbs and relieved in 7 limbs.Localized subcutaneous hematoma beneath the incision occurred in 3 patients, but no skin numbness or other complications took place.Follow-up ranged from 1 month to 5 years [(30 2?18 8)months] and 65 patients were followed for more than 1 year.No recurrence of superficial varicosis of lower limbs was seen. Conclusions Selective mini-incision procedure for the treatment of varicose vein of lower extremities is feasible, simple, safe and effective.

Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and asthma is a common clinical refractory airway disease. Comprehensive treatment of nasal endoscopic surgery including nasal endoscopic surgery and medication, which can significantly improve nose-pulmonary symptoms and make sinusitis and asthma easier to be controlled by medication, has certain superiority. But the existence of disease heterogeneity of CRSwNP with asthma causes different reactions to the current treatment, which manifests as parts of polyps and asthma easy to recur and difficult to control. According to the research recently, the study of the heterogeneity of airway diseases, for example endotype, is a hot area of research. Endotype is a subtype of a condition, which is defined by a distinct functional or pathobiological mechanism. This is distinct from a phenotype, which is any observable characteristic or trait of a disease. Different Inflammatory subtypes often represent different pathophysiology and even different pathogenesis. The concept of inflammatory subtypes of airway diseases provides a new perspective for studies of airway diseases of endotype and the mechanism of combined airway diseases. This review summarizes recent advances in the clinical characterization and treatment of the CRSwNP with asthma. On this basis, we analyze and summarize the heterogeneity of CRSwNP and asthma separately from the perspective of inflammatory subtypes. Then according to the concept of the combined airway diseases and the common pathogenesis, we put forward the definition of inflammatory subtypes of the CRSwNP with asthma and preliminarily discuss the method of the definition.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(20):1628-1632
Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) can be controlled by a combination of conservative treatment and surgical procedures. However, there is one group of CRS endotypes, refractory CRS, such as eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyp (ECRSwNP), for which the current treatment strategies of anti-inflammatory and/or antibiotic therapy or surgical removal of the lesion to improve sinus drainage are less effective. This lack of treatment efficacy highlights the need for further fundamental and clinical research to improve or restore nasal mucosal function of CRS. The role of the immune response in the pathogenesis of mucosal remodeling, which is a key problem in refractory CRS, is of particular current interest. ECRSwNP characterized by Th17/Treg imbalance in- duced by IL-6 has a different mucosal remodeling pattern. This review intends to illustrate the role of the imbalance between Th17 (T helper 17) and Treg (regulatory T) cells in the mucosal remodeling of ECRSwNP and to suggest a novel therapeutic target on treating ECRSwNP.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 1985;0(06):-
For developing Digital Image Expert System in rhinoplasty, the accurate and reliable Digital Image Measuring System must be first set up, and the data from the Digital Image Measuring System must be reliable with the data measured by hand. The measuring system mainly consists of a computer with an image processing board, a TV camera and a head fixing device. Ten adults were selected randomly and some indexes of head and face were measured with the measuring system and by hand respectively. The reliability of the measuring system was confirmed by the statistical analysis of data measured. Finally, the results were also discussed.

AIM: To establish HPLC fingerprint of Venenum Bufonis in an attempt to become a standard of quality control. METHODS: The HPLC method was set up using Alltima C_(18)(250 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m) column with mobile phase of acetonitrile-0.5% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution of water;UV detection wavelength at 296 nm and column temperature at 30 ℃ with the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min;20 ?L of the injection volume. RESULTS: In this chromatogram condition,10 peaks were identified as the characteristic fingerprints of Venenum Bufonis. All samples showed the content differences among the samples. The retention times for resibufogenin、cinobufagin、bufalin、bufotalin and cinobufotalin in Venenum Bufonis were consistent with each other. The fingerprint showed good similarity up to 93% in samples from different habitats. CONCLUSION: The method is exact、simple and accurate, and can be used for the identification and quality control of Venenum Bufonis.

To explore the mechanism of the absorption of flavonoids from Abelmoschus manihot flowers, in situ intestinal recirculation was performed to study the effect of the absorption at different concentrations and different intestinal regions. To evaluate the conditions of the absorption of six flavonoids from Abelmoschus manihot flowers, the concentrations of Abelmoschus manihot in the perfusion solution were determined by HPLC at predesigned time. And we have investigated the inhibitory effect of six flavonoids from Abelmoschus manihot flowers on P-glycoprotein (P-gp) drug efflux pump. The results demonstrated that the absorption rates of flavonoids from Abelmoschus manihot flowers are not significantly different (P > 0.05) at various drug concentrations, the absorption of flavonoids from Abelmoschus manihot flowers is a first-order process with the passive diffusion mechanism. The absorption rates of each of flavonoids are significantly different. The absorption rate of flavonoid glycoside was lower than that of aglycone; the flavonoids from Abelmoschus manihot flowers could be absorbed in all of the intestinal segments. The best parts of intestine to absorb hyperoside and myricetin are jejunum and duodenum, separately. Verapamil could enhance the absorption of isoquercitrin, hyperoside, myricetin and quercetin-3'-O-glucoside by inhibiting P-glycoprotein (P-gp) drug efflux pump.
