Dermoid cysts occur in the maxillary sinus mucosa were rare. Patient's CT showed: maxillary sinuses Sinus cavity expansion, sinus wall thinning. The inside of the sinus wall disappeared, the maxillary sinus filled with soft tissue mass shadow. Bacterial culture: Staphylococcus aureus. Pathological report: a very small a mount of scattered broken squamous epithelium and keratosis, no atypia cells. Lesions consistent with epidermoid cyst. Patients with epidermoid cysts, formated probably in the process of embryonic development, the reasons of rapid growth may be considered for inflammatory stimulation.

Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis 2007;19(1):101-106
Objective To determine the effect of suppressing TrkA expression on pancreatic cancer chemosensitivity to gemcitabine and further disclose the role of PI3K/Akt signal transduction pathway in pancreatic cancer chemoresistance. Methods Human pancreatic cancer cell lines PANC-1, MIA-PaCa-2 and ASPC-1 were studied. The expression and kinase activity of TrkA were determined by Western blot analysis and in vitro kinase assay, respectively. RNA interference was used to suppress TrkA expression. Gemcitabine-induced cytotoxicity was determined by tetrazolium reduction assay and caspase profiling was performed. The effect of TrkA-specific siRNA on PI3K/Akt activity was also quantified. Results TrkA expression and kinase activity in cell lines were directly correlated with gemcitabine chemoresistance. TrkA-specific siRNA suppressed TrkA expression and kinase activity, and furthermore increased gemcitabine-induced, caspase-mediated apoptosis. PI3K/Akt activity was decreased by suppression of TrkA expression. Conclusion TrkA is a determinant of pancreatic adenocarcinoma chemoresistance and PI3K/Akt is a key signaling component by which NGF activation of the TrkA signal transduction pathway protects pancreatic cancer cells from chemotherapy-induced cell death.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2015;(6):891-893,937
Objective To explore the clinical application value of MRA (TOF and PC)in cerebrovacular arteriovenous malforma-tion imaging when DAS as a reference gold standard. Methods 60 patients clinically suspected cerebral vascular malformations were enrolled in our study. They were all underwent MRA (TOF and PC)and DSA examinations successively within three days. Then, the imaging of feeding arteries, vascular malformation masses and venous drainages were compared and analyzed. Results Of all 60 patients with AVM,their feeding arteries and arterioles images were showed better by DSA and MRA-TOF technology than by MRA-PC.The difference was statistically significant (χ2/P DSA?PC - 4.1 75/0.000,χ2/P TOF ?PC - 3.508/0.000 ),no statistically difference was found between DSA and MRA-TOF findings,(χ2/P DSA?TOF -0.740/0.459).However,their venous drainages and venules show better with DSA and MRA-PC technology than with MRA-TOF method, the difference was statistically significant (χ2/P DSA?TOF -2.445/0.014,χ2/P PC?TOF -3.443/0.001),no statistically difference was found between DSA and MRA-PC findings (χ2/P DSA?PC -1.085/0.278).Conclusion MRA-TOF to display cerebral arteries and MRA-PC to show cerebral venues are basically consistent with the DSA,MRA-TOF and MRA-PC cannot replace each other when showing cerebral arteries and venous.

Objective: To explore the application value on combined examination of blood levels of growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF-15) and NT-pro B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in patients after successful cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for their recent prognosis.
Methods: A total of 102 patients with sudden cardiac arrest and successful CPR in our hospital were enrolled. Blood levels of GDF-15 were examined at immediately, 12 h and 24-48 h after CPR respectively. According to GDF-15 levels, the patients were divided into 3 groups: Group A, the patients with GDF-15<1200 ng/L at all-time points,n=31; Group B, GDF-15 level consistently increasing and GDF-15>1200 ng/L at all-time points,n=35; Group C, GDF-15 level consistently increasing at 12 h and 24-48 h after CPR, while it was lower at 24-48 h than 12 h after CPR,n=36. Blood levels of NT-proBNP and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) were also examined. The patients were followed-up for 6 months for post-CPR death.
Results: Blood levels of GDF-15 and NT-proBNP were related, NT-proBNP level was changing with GDF-15 varying. GDF-15 and NT-proBNP level was negatively related to LVEF (r=-0.530,P<0.001), the patients with GDF-15>1800 ng/L and NT-proBNP>400 pg/ml had the higher mortality than those had the lower levels of GDF-15 and NT-proBNP,P<0.05. Survival analysis presented that 6 months survival rate in Group B was lower than Group A and Group C,P<0.05; survival rate was similar between Group A and Group C,P>0.05.
Conclusion: Combined examination for blood levels of GDF-15 and NT-proBNP may better predict the recent prognosis in patients who received CPR.
10.The role of extracellular signal regulated kinase 1/2 in mediating osteodifferentiation of human periodontal ligament cells induced by cyclic stretch.
West China Journal of Stomatology 2017;35(5):520-526
OBJECTIVEThis study aimed to investigate the mechanism of cyclic stretch that promotesthe osteogenic differentiation of human periodontal ligament cells (hPDLCs) through the mediation of extracellular-signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2).
METHODShPDLCs were isolated through the explant method and cultured in vitro. hPDLCs were mechanically stimulated by a multi-channel cell-stress-loading system for 1, 3, 6, 12, and 24 h. The magnitude of stretch was 10% deformation, and the frequency was 0.5 Hz. Nonloaded cells were used as control group. ERK1/2 activation was blocked by U0126, a specific ERK1/2 pathway inhibitor. Additionally, hPDLCs were transfected with adenoviral vector encoding dominant negative ERK1/2 (DN-ERK1/2) to continuouslyinhibit ERK1/2 activation. The mRNA and protein levels of target geneswere detected through real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot.
RESULTSCyclic stretching promoted the expression of ERK1/2, osteocalcin (OCN) mRNA, and bone sialoprotein (BSP) mRNA. The expression of runt-related transcription factor (Runx) 2 protein and mRNA also increased at 3 and 6 h of cyclic stretching. The inhibition of ERK1/2 by U0126 and DN-ERK1/2 suppressed the expressionof Runx2 mRNA, OCN mRNA, BSP mRNA, Runx 2 protein, and p-ERK1/2 protein relative to that in stretched cells without the ERK1/2 inhibitor.
CONCLUSIONSERK1/2 is a critical molecule in the mediation ofthe osteogenic differentiation of hPDLCs under mechanical stimulation. ERK1/2 activation induced the elevation of Runx2 protein levels, which may be involved in the stretch-induced expressions of OCN and BSP.
