Objective To explore the effects of patient participation-based dietary intervention on nutritional status for patients with gastrectomy.Methods Fifty-two patients with gastrectomy were randomly assigned to the intervention group(n=26) and the control group(n=26).All patients were given general dietary guidance,and patients in the intervention group were provided patient participation-based dietary intervention(PPDI) as well.Height,body weight and body mass index(BMI) were recorded at baseline,2 weeks and 12 weeks after intervention,using PatientGenerated Subjective Global Assessment(PG-SGA),Diet-Related Symptom Scale,Adherence to Dietary Scale and a 3-day food diary.Results There was no obvious change in body weight and BMI before and after 12-week intervention,while outcomes in the control group gradually decreased.For time effect,there was significant difference in PG-SGA between two groups(P＜0.05).For between-group effect,there were significant differences in diet-related symptoms(P＜0.05),dietary intake(P＜0.05) and adherence to dietary(P＜0.05) between two groups.Conclusion Patient participation-based dietary intervention can improve nutritional status for patients with gastrectomy.

Recently,to assess the reproductive effects of bisphenol A (BPA),the environmental estrogen,has become a focus of stusy. Investigations,to date,have focused on the effects on the reproductive system including the morphogenesis of tissues and organs,endocrine and the toxic mechanisms of action,particularly in males. Based on the study results concerning BPA’s impacts on male reproduction,the further study directions in this field were presented in this paper.

Objective To understand the effect of butylbenzyl phthalate(BBP) on the levels of DNA-protein crosslinks(DPC) in hepatic cells of mice.Methods Twenty-five male Kunming mice were randomly assigned into five groups(n=5).BBP was administered by intraperitoneal injection at doses of 0(control group),125,250,500,1 000 mg/kg respectively for 14 consecutive days.Then the levels of DNA-protein crosslinks were detected.Results DPC coefficient increased with concentration of BBP increasing.Treatments of 500 and 1 000 mg/kg BBP significantly increased the levels of DPC compared with the control group. Conclusion BBP can not cause DPC at low levels(125 mg/kg),but it can cause DPC significantly at high levels(500 and 1000 mg/kg),which may cause serious DNA damages.

Objective To compare the isometric muscle strength of muscle groups in the lower extremities of children with spastic hemiplegia among sides or ages. Methods17 spastic hemiplegic children were measured the muscle strength of hip, knee and ankle muscle groups with hand-held dynamometry (HHD). ResultsMuscle strength was weaker in the involved side than in the other side. In younger children, it was weaker of overall extremity, while in the older it was of the distal end mainly. ConclusionWhen applying strength training to spastic hemiplegic children, it is important to notice strength of all groups in lower extremity in younger children and the distal groups in older ones.

Objective To investigate the relationship between tumor metastasis-related Rac1 mRNA expression levels and gastric carcinomas metastasis, and to investigate the significance of Rac1 as a tumor marker for the evaluation of gastric carcinomas metastasis and distinguish between benign and malignant lesions. Methods This experiment used fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR TaqMan probe technology, chose Rac1 target gene fragment, which was cloned into the pET-20b (+) vector, constructed recombinant plasmid, and established the Rac1 mRNA fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR standard curve. And then the Rac1 mRNA levels were detected in 52 cases of gastric carcinoma tissues,52 cases of para-carcinoma tissues and 12 cases of benign gastric disease tissues. Its association with the metastasis of gastric carcinomas was analyzed. Results The positive rates and levels (median, P25-P75) of Rac1 mRNA were 100. 0% ,7.41 ×105 (3. 50 × 105-4. 36 × 106) copies/μl in gastric carcinomas, 46. 2% ,0(0-1.73 × 104) copies/μl in parscarcinoma tissues, 33. 3%, 0(0-3.55 × 103) copies/μl in benign tissues. The positive rates and leves(x2 =43.16,x2Xk-w = 64. 19, P ＜0. 01)among the three groups were significantly different. When the critical value of Rac1 mRNA level was 1.73 × 104 copies/μl determined by ROC, the sensitivity and specificity were 88. 5% and 100% respectively. When the critical value of Rac1 level was 7.49 × 105 copies/μl, the sensitivity and specificity were 57.9% and 78. 6% respectively. ConclusionThe Rac1 mRNA level detected with fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR has reference value to distinguish between benign and malignant lesions and evaluate gastric carcinoma metastasis.

Objective To observe the protein expression , subcelluar localization of activated Pak 1 and its relation-ship with chromosome separation during meiosis in mouse oocytes .Methods Western blot was applied to analyze the expression of activated Pak1 (phosphorylated Pak1 at Ser204, pPak1Ser204 ) at different stages of meiotic progres-sion in semi-quantitative manner;immunofluorescent staining was employed to detect the sub-cellular localization of pPak1Ser204 and its spatial-temporal correlation with spindle and microtubule organizing centers (MTOC) during oo-cyte meiosis.Results pPak1Ser204 expression was found upon germinal vesicle breakdown (GVBD) in mouse oo-cytes which increased along with the meiotic progression , reaching peak level at metaphase Ⅰ( MⅠ) , which re-mained up to meiosis Ⅱ(MⅡ).From pro-metaphase Ⅰ(pro-MⅠ) to MⅠand at MⅡstage, pPak1Ser204was co-localized with MTOC key components , pericentrin and γ-tubulin on spindle poles, pPak1Ser204 was also distributed on chromosomes;During anaphase Ⅰ(AⅠ) to telophase Ⅰ(TelⅠ) progression, pPak1Ser204 was detached from chromosomes and MTOC, and mainly concentrated on the cleavage furrow.Conclusions pPak1Ser204 is expressed upon meiotic resumption in oocytes .It is a MTOC-associated protein which may regulate chromosome separation through participating the formation and maintenance of spindle apparatus .

Objective To evaluate the performance of VITEK 2-Compact GN13 methods for testing imipenem susceptibility of Klebsiella pneumoniae and assess the reliability of its Advanced Expert System (AES).Methods A retrospective study was conducted with a total of 157K. pneumoniae strains, which were isolated from blood and intra-abdominal infections in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from 2014 to 2015. Thein vitro minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of imipenem were determined by disc diffusion, VITEK 2-Compact GN13 and broth microdilution methods, respectively. Categorical agreement (CA) rates of disc diffusion and VITEK 2-Compact GN13 methods were determined using broth microdilution as reference method. The genes encoding ESBLs and carbapenemase were screened by PCR and sequencing analysis. The phenotypic confirmatory tests such as modified Hodge test, PCR and DNA sequencing were used to confirm the resistance mechanism and evaluate the reliability of AES in interpreting the imipenem susceptibility of K. pneumoniae.Results Among the 157 isolates, 64 and 8 were identified as resistant and intermediate strains by broth microdilution method, respectively; 52 and 10 were tested as resistant and intermediate strains by disc diffusion method, respectively; 54 and 13 were determined as resistant and intermediate strains by VITEK 2-Compact GN13 method, respectively, while 70 and 3 were judged as resistant and intermediate strains by VITEK 2-Compact GN13 method plus AES validation. The CA of disc diffusion and VITEK 2-Compact GN13 methods compared with broth microdilution method were all higher than 90 %. However, the major error (ME) rate was 3.8 % and very major error (VME) rates were all 0.6 % in imipenem susceptibility testing by VITEK 2-Compact GN13 and disc diffusion. The imipenem susceptibility of 16 strains were modified by the AES, which eliminated 0.6 % VME, but increased major error by 1.3 % and minor error by 1.9 %. Phenotypic confirmatory tests showed that 75 % (12/16) of these strains were validated as producers of both ESBLs and carbapenemase, which was consistent with the result of AES validation. PCR and DNA sequencing analysis proved that 62.5 % (10/16) of these strains produce IMP-4/KPC-2 /NDM-1 and ESBLs.Conclusions Both disc diffusion and VITEK 2-Compact GN13 methods can be used for testing the imipenem susceptibility of K. pneumoniae isolates with reliable and accurate results. Attention should be paid to the possibility of ME and VME when testing imipenem susceptibility. The VME can be avoided by the AES mechanism. However, AES intervention will increase ME and minor error, which may be associated with decreased expression of carbapenemase.

Objective To investigate the association between chlamydia pneumoniae(Cpn)and atherosclerosis obliterans(ASO). Methods Sixty ASO patients and 40 healthy persons were selected,and their Cpn DNA expressions in venous blood determined by polymerase chain reaction(PCR). Results The ASO patients had significantly higher positive expression rate of Cpn DNA than that of healthy persons(78. 33% vs. 47.50% ,P ＜0.05). In all 60 cases the Cpn DNA expressions were positively correlated with the severity of ASO. Conclusions Cpn DNA expression closely relates with ASO severity,and it plays an important role in the ASO pathogenesis.

Objective To investigate the expression of DNM T1 and PDCD4 in Tongue Squamous cell carcinoma and their signif‐icance to Clinical .Methods The protein expression of DNM T1 and PDCD4 in 40 cases of TSCC tissues and The adjacent no tumor tissues were measured by Elivision Two Step immunohistochemical method(IHC) ,the relationship between DNM T1 ,PDCD4 and clinicopathological parameters were analyzed .Results There was positively over expression of DNM T1 while the expression of PD‐CD4 was at a low lever or lost in TSCC tissues ,the expression of two genes DNM T1 and PDCD4 in the adjacent no tumor tissues were in contrast ;there was a significant negative correlation between DNM T1 and PDCD4 expression in TSCC(r = - 0 .452 ,P<0 .05) .The expression of DNM T1 protein were associated with histopathological differentiation types ,regional lymph node metasta‐sis and TNM staging(P< 0 .05) ,it had nothing to do with age and gender ;the expression of PDCD4 protein were associated with regional lymph node metastasis and TNM staging(P< 0 .05) ,and it had nothing to do with age ,gender ,histopathological differenti‐ation types .Conclusion Implying the abnormal expression of DNM T1 and PDCD4 protein might be closely related to the develop‐ment and progression of TSCC .DNM T1 may be participates in the inactivation of PDCD4 expression ,and led to the development of the cancer at last .

Aurora-B as an important kinase to adjust the cell normal mitosis is a potent target for cancer treatment. Aurora-B is overexpressed in a broad range of tumor and tumor cells are more sensitive while Aurora-B is inhibited. Due to the key role of the Aurora-B in cell mitosis, the development of its inhibitors is becoming more and more important. Several small molecules inhibit with a similar efficacy both Aurora-A and Aurora-B, however, in most cases the effects resemble Aurora-B disruption by genetic methods, indicating that Aurora-B represents an effective therapeutic target. There were several Aurora-B kinase inhibitors which had entered the clinics and displayed good antitumor activity. In this review, we will outline the functions of Aurora kinase B in normal cell division and in malignancy. We will focus on recent preclinical and clinical studies that have explored the mechanism of action and clinical effect of Aurora-B inhibitors in cancer treatment.
