Objective To reveal the therapeutic efficacy of scalp acupuncture plus rehabilitation training in treating spastic cerebral palsy, by evaluating the Comprehensive Function for the Disabled Children and modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) before and after the intervention.Method Sixty patients with spastic cerebral palsy were divided into a treatment group and a control group by following a single-blind randomized design, 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was intervened by scalp acupuncture plus rehabilitation training, while the control group was by rehabilitation training alone. The improvements of comprehensive function and muscle tension, as well as the correlation between age and therapeutic efficacy were observed respectively after 2-month and 4-month treatment. Result There were significant differences in comparing the muscle tension score between the two groups respectively after2-month and 4-month treatment (P<0.01); the total effective rate was 86.7% in the treatment group versus 63.3% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); in the treatment group, there was a significant difference in comparing the therapeutic efficacy between different age groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Scalp acupuncture plus rehabilitation training can produce a better result than rehabilitation alone in treating spastic cerebral palsy; the younger the patients, the better the prognosis.

Objective To investigate the correlation of serum high-mobility group box-1 (HMG-B1) with the severity of lesion of coronary artery disease (CAD) and its prognosis in elderly patients.Methods A total of 180 CAD patients with coronary stenosis exceeding 50 percent by coronary angiography were divided into three groups:one branch stenosis;two branches stenosis and three branches stenosis.The control group included 50 patients without coronary stenosis.The degrees of coronary stenosis were diagnosed as mild stenosis,moderate stenosis and severe stenosis based on improved Gensini scores.The severity of decrements of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) by echocardiogram were divided into three groups:mild,moderate and severe LVEF.Levels of HMGB1,hs-CRP and glucose were measured in all the patients.According to whether there was a complication of type 2 diabetic mellitus (T2DM),the 180 patients were classified as two groups.The patients were also divided into two groups according to whether there were adverse events.Results The HMGB1 levels of the CAD group were increased along with the number of affected vessels [three bunch group (40.5±6.0) ng/ml,double bunch group (33.1±4.9)μg/L,single bunch group (20.5±3.3)μg/L and control group (6.2±1.4)μg/L (all P＜0.05)].And the HMGB1 levels of the CAD group were increased along with the degrees of CAD stenosis [severe stenosis group (43.0±5.8)μg/L,medium stenosis group (32.1±4.5)μg/L,mild stenosis group(19.3±2.0)μg/L] (all P＜0.05).Meanwhile,the levels of HMGB1 were increased along with the decrement of left ventricular ejection fraction [left ventricular severe dysfunction group (41.0 ± 5.5) μg/L,medium dysfunction group(33.1± 4.3)μg/L,mild dysfunction group (21.3± 2.0)μg/L] (all P＜0.05).CAD with T2DM had a higher HMGB1 level than non-T2DM group[(35.7±5.0) (C)/L vs.(23.3±3.0) (C)/L,P＜0.05].The adverse events group had a higher HMGB1 level than non-adverse events group[(38.7±5.5) (C)/L vs.(25.3±3.3)μg/L,P＜0.05].Besides,HMGB1 had a positive correlation with levels of hs-CRP and glucose(r=0.680,0.571,P＜0.05).Conclusions Serum HMGB1 change is closely related to morbid change degree of elderly CAD patients as well as prognosis.As a new type of inflammatory factor,HMGB1 may serve as a new target for disease treatment.

Objective To investigate the testing capabilities of clinical transfusion laboratories in medical institutions in Beijing for the regulatory authorities to formulate administrative policies in this regard.Methods Experts assigned by Beijing Clinical Transfusion Quality Control Center made on-site inspections at the transfusion laboratories in medical institutions using quality control products.They recorded the complete testing process of the operators as well as the instruments,detection reagents in use and the testing results,with statistics and analysis made to the data so collected.Results The pass rate of these on-site inspections was lower than that of the external quality assessment.Some laboratories failed to complete the testing of the quality control products in time and the actual operations in some laboratories were inconsistent to the guidelines.55.9％ of level Ⅰ hospitals and 25.6％ of level Ⅱ hospitals were found with insufficient and inadequate instruments and process layout to meet the needs of clinical blood transfusion.Some of the technicians were found without sufficient trainings in their professional knowledge and basic skills,resulting in their poor competence against emergency cases and weakness in independent problem solving.In addition,the records of detection process and results were found to be substandard.Conclusions Transfusion laboratories in Beijing need to improve their testing capabilities in general.

Coding region instability determinant (CRD) is one of the influence factors of oncogene c-myc.Coding region instability determinant-binding protein (CRD-BP) can connect with CRD in order to protect CRD from nuclease attack,prevent rapid degradation of c-myc mRNA,and increase c-myc protein content.Beta-transducin repeats-containing protein (β-TrCP) can affect cell growth,differentiation,apoptosis and oncogenesis by regulating multiple signaling pathways and cell cycle.The overexpression of CRD-BP can upregulate the expression of β-TrCP and both of them play important roles in the tumorigenesis,progression,metastasis and invasion of colorectal cancer.

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of fetal tricuspid regurgitation (TR) in the screening of chromosomal abnormalities at the first-trimester. Methods Screening for chromosomal abnormalities was carried out in 1 262 fetuses at 11+0 to 13+6 weeks. Ultrosound was performed to measure crown rump length and nuchal translucency (NT) thickness, and to acquire tricuspid waveform. All the neonates were followed up for 6 months after birth. Results Among the 1 262 fetuses, 68 were found to have TR. TR was present in 54 (4.4%) of the 1 239 chromosomally normal fetuses, and in 14 (61%) of the 23 with chromosomal abnormalities. Cardiac malformations were detectable in 28 fetuses. The prevalence of TR was 64%in those with cardiac malformations and 1.5%in those without cardiac malformations. Conclusions Tricuspid regurgitation is an effective predictor for the detection of fetal chromosomal abnormalities at the first trimester.

Objective:To identify the differences in clinical manifestations between Chinese giant cell arteritis (GCA) patients and polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) patients.Methods:Twelve GCA patients were included during September 2010 to September 2019 in our hospital. Clinical and laboratory data were collected. Twenty-four age and sex-matched pure PMR patients were selected as control. Statistical analysis was performed using Statistical product and service solutions (SPSS) software. The categorical variables were tested by chi square test, and the continuous variables were expressed by mean and standard deviation ( ± s). The comparison between groups was conducted by t-test. P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results:In these 12 GCA patients, the onset age was 55-70 (67±7) years old, and male to female ratio was 1∶11. The most common initial symptom of GCA was the same as PMR (7/12, 58%) . Compared with PMR patients, the specific clinical manifestations of GCA patients were scalp pain ( P=0.031), mandibular claudication ( P=0.031) and migraine ( P=0.000). The creatine kinase of GCA (60±27) U/L patients was higher than that in PMR (41±15) patients ( t=1.098, P=0.029). There was no significant difference in other laboratory tests including erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C reactive protein level. Seven of 12 GCA patients were first diagnosed with PMR, then were diagnosed with GCA during follow-up. No obvious differences could be found in clinical manifestations between these 7 patients and 24 pure PMR patients. Through imaging examinations, we found that 9 of the 12 GCA patients had arterial stenosis, 5 had thickened vascular walls, 5 had atherosclerosis, and 2 had rough endometrium. Conclusion:GCA patients and PMR may have similar clinical presentations. The presence of scalp pain, mandibular claudication and migraine during the course of the disease implies that GCA is more likely. Vascular ultrasound, arterial CTA, and positron emission tomograph (PET)/CT play an increasingly important role in the diagnosis of GCA.

Objective To investigate the effect of dopaminergic neurons of midbrain ventral tegmental area(VTA) in general anesthesia.Methods Forty adult healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into lesion group (n=20) and control group (n=20).The lesion group was given the bilateral infusion of specific dopaminergic neuron injury agent 6-OHDA in midbrain lateral VTA,while the control group received the same volume of normal saline at the same areas.The time of loss of righting reflex (LORR)loss and recovery of righting reflex(RORR)at postoperative 2 week were observed in each group.Results Compared with the control group,the LORR time in the lesion group was shortened and the RORR time was significantly prolonged under propofol-induced anesthesia (P＜0.05).However,the LORR time under the isoflurane anesthesia had no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P＞0.05),while the RORR time in the lesion group was increased(P＜0.05).Conclusion Dopaminergic neurons in midbrain VTA might play different roles in the induction and recovery of different general anesthetics.

Objective To explore the effect of the dexamethasone on the levels of cytokine in the brain of endotoxin shock rats. Methods 54 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized to the sham group, LPS group (lipopolysaccharide 8 mg/kg, i.v.) and DEX group (dexamethasone 5 mg/kg, i.v., in addition). The blood pressure was measured dynamically. The contents of interleukin (IL)-4, IL-10 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α were detected with ELISA 1 h, 3 h, 6 h after shock. Results As the occurrence and development of shock, blood pressure went down gradually, IL-4 and IL-10 decreased (P<0.01), and TNF-α increased (P<0.01) in LPS group, while the TNF-α decreased (P<0.01), the IL-4 and IL-10 increased (P<0.01) in the DEX group compared with the LPS group. Conclusion Dexamethasone may protect the brain from the endotoxin shock injury in rats through regulating the inflammatory factor.

AIM:To determine the therapeutic efficacy of recombinant adenovirus containing hyper-interleu-kin-6 (HIL-6) and hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) (Ad-HGF-HIL-6) on acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) in rats u-sing that of recombinant adenovirus HIL-6 or HGF ( Ad-HIL-6 or Ad-HGF) for comparison.METHODS:The rat model of ACLF was established and the model rats were randomly divided into model group, Ad0 group, Ad-HGF group, Ad-HIL-6 group and Ad-HGF-HIL-6 group.The sera and liver tissues were collected for biochemical, pathological and molecular bio-logical examinations.RESULTS:Compared with Ad0 group, prothrombin time ( PT) and the serum levels of alanine amin-otransferase (ALT), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interferon-γ(IFN-γ) and high-mobility group box-1 (HMGB1) were markedly reduced in the ACLF rats treated with Ad-HGF, Ad-HIL-6 and Ad-HGF-HIL-6, and similarly, reduced he-patic damages and apoptotic activity, reduced Bax at protein level, and increased expression of Ki67 and Bcl-2 at protein levels were observed.Among them, treatment with Ad-HGF-HIL-6 showed the most significant therapeutic efficacy without obvious side effects.CONCLUSION:The therapeutic efficacy of Ad-HGF-HIL-6 is more potent than that of Ad-HGF or Ad-HIL-6 alone on ACLF rats with no significant side effects.

Objective To study the effect of a Chinese medicine, Huanglian Jiedu Decoction ( HLJDD) , on ath-erosclerotic plaque, inflammatory factors and regulatory T cells in ApoE-/- mice. Methods High fat diet was given to ApoE-/- mice to establish an atherosclerosis model. 40 male ApoE-/- mice were randomly divided into five groups:model group, simvastatin group, low, moderate and high dose HLJDD groups (n =8). HLJDD was intragastrically administered in a dose of 3. 5, 7. 0, or 14. 0 g/( kg?bw) once dailg for 16 weeks. The dose of simvastatin was 5. 0 g/( kg?bw). An-other 8 male C57BL/6J mice were taken as control group. At the end of the 29-week experiment, all of the mice were sacri-ficed. The aortic plaques, level of blood lipids, inflammatory factors, Tregs number and the level of Foxp3 mRNA were de-tected and analyzed by ELISA, flow cytometry and RT-PCR, respectively. Results Compared with the control group, the aortic plaques were much larger in the model group, and the levels of TC, TG, LDL-C, IL-6, hs-CRP, and TNF-α were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0. 01 for all). Meanwhile, the levels of HDL-C, IL-10, TGF-βand Foxp3 mRNA were much lower than those in the control group ( P<0. 01 for all) , and the Tregs numbers were less than that in the control group (P<0. 01). HLJDD regulated the blood lipids in ApoE-/ - mice and decreased the levels of IL-6, hs-CRP, andTNF-α, however increased the levels of IL-10, TGF-β and Foxp3 mRNA. At the same time, it in-creased Tregs number in the ApoE-/ - mice. Compared with the model group, the difference was statistically significancet (P<0. 01). Conclusions HLJDD can significantly alleviate the aortic plaque damages in ApoE-/ - mice. It may be re-lated to the up-regulation of Tregs, which can lead to decrease the expression of serum pro-inflammatory factors such like IL-10, hs-CRP and TNF-α.
