Objective To evaluate the value of ultrasonic elastography for diagnosis of chronic nonspecific low back pain. Methods From March to September, 2016, 32 patients diagnosed as chronic nonspecific low back pain and other 32 healthy people (controls) were measured lumbar erector spinae with ultrasonic elastography, and calculated Yang's modulus. The correlation between Yang's modulus and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) or Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score in the patients were investigated with Pearson's analysis. Re-sults There was no significant difference in Yang's modulus between bilateral lumbar erector spinae in both the patients and the controls (t<1.849, P>0.05), but it was more in the patients than in the controls (t=9.931, P<0.001). The Yang's modulus was positively correlated with VAS score in the patients (r=0.614, P<0.001), but not with the JOA score (r=-0.243, P=0.180). Conclusion Ultrasonic elastography can be applied to differentiate low back pain from the healthy, and measure the intensity of pain.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Salvia Miltiorrhiza injection (SMI) on peritoneal dialysis solution (PDS) induced injuries of peritoneal structure and function in a rat model, and to observe the relationship between the failure of peritoneal dialysis and expressions of aquaporin-1 (AQP-1) and zonula occluden-1 (ZO-1) in peritoneal tissues. METHODS: Fifty-six SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group, 1.5% PDS group, 4.25% PDS group, 1.5%PDS+1% SMI group, 1.5%PDS+2% SMI group, 4.25% PDS+1% SMI group and 4.25% PDS+2% SMI group. Two-hour peritoneal dialysis test was performed in rats in different groups by intraperitoneal injection for 8-week. Then rats were killed on the 8th week, and the bloods and peritoneal tissues were gathered. The rate of ultrafiltration, clearance rates of urea nitrogen, creatinine and glucose of peritoneum and content of total protein in PDS were detected. Peritoneal membrane histology was evaluated by light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Expressions of ZO-1 and AQP-1 proteins in peritoneal tissues were detected by immunohistochemical method, and AQP-1 protein expression was also detected by Western blotting technique. RESULTS: Compared with normal control group, using of 1.5% PDS and 4.25% PDS caused the changes of structure and function in peritoneum, such as pathological change of peritoneum, decreasing of the rate of ultrafiltration (P<0.05), clearance rates of creatinine and glucose (P<0.01) and the expression of ZO-1 protein (P<0.05), and increasing of the expression of AQP-1 protein (P<0.05). Compared with the simple PDS groups, the pathological damage of peritoneum was lessened and the rate of ultrafiltration and clearance rates of creatinine and glucose were increased in the 1.5% PDS+2% SMI group and 1.5% PDS+2% SMI group. Expression of AQP-1 protein was decreased by 1.5% PDS+2% SMI as compared with 1.5% PDS (P<0.05).[JP] CONCLUSION: SMI can relieve the injuries of function and structure of peritoneum by down-regulating the expression of AQP-1 protein.

Objective To understand the body burden of PAES in the children aged 10-12 years,living in city and countryside and estimate the potential hazard of PAEs for the children. Methods The reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) was employed to determine the serum level of three kinds PAEs (DEP,DBP and DEHP) in two groups of children,including 36 city children and 38 countryside children in Jan. 2007. Results In the city children,the average serum level (median) of PAEs was 0.002 6 mg/L for DEP,0.035 9 mg/L for DBP and 0.106 25 mg/L for DEHP. In the countryside children,the serum level of PAEs was 0.000 0 mg/L for DEP,0.040 6 mg/L for DBP and 0.052 45 mg/L for DEHP. Objective To investigate the effects of Oxytocin(OT) on hippocampal long-term potentiation(LTP) and FOS protein expression induced by peripheral stimulation.Methods Single stimulation pulses were delivered to the left sciatic nerves to evoke the field excitatory postsynaptic potentials (fEPSPs) in the right hippocampal CA1. Tetanic stimulation was used to induce hippocampal LTP. Different groups of rat were given NS,OT,Oxytocin antagonist-Atosiban + OT before tetanic stimulation,into lateral ventricle(LV) respectively. Expression of FOS protein was compared among the groups by histopathological and immunohistochemistry. Results Single stimulation evoked fEPSPs in hippocampal CA1,which average latency was (171.9?33.1)ms and average amplitude was (25.7?8.4)?V. Tetanic stimulation induced hippocampal LTP and increased the expression of FOS protein. Intracerebroventricular injection of OT inhibited hippocampal LTP and decreased the expression of FOS protein. This effect of OT was blocked by the pretreatment with Atosiban. Conclusion The results suggested that OT may play an inhibitory role in leaning and memory of rats and the effect is mediated by OT receptor.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of 2-year treatment of interferon alpha combined with lamivudine therapy in chronic hepatitis B patients. Methods From 1999 to 2001 87 patients were enrolled and randomized into two groups.36 patients received interferon alpha and lamivudine simultaneously for 26 weeks,then lamivudine alone for 76 weeks.51 patients received lamivudine alone for 104 weeks.The efficacy was evaluated by biochemical and virological parameters.The YMDD motif was detected in both groups. Results There was no difference between two groups in HBV DNA response ( P =0.24).Proportion of HBeAg/Anti-HBe seroconversion in combination group was significantly higher than lamivudine group (38.9% vs 17.6%)( P =0.03).HBV YMDD mutation rate in combination group was lower than in lamivudine group (22.2% vs 43.1%, P =0.04). Conclusion The efficacy of combination therapy appeares to be better than lamivudine monotherapy.Combination treatment may delay or diminish the development of HBV YMDD mutation.

Necro-inflammatory activity, fibrosis and the expression of HBV DNA showed no correlation with response rate in combination group. Among those who had higher levels of HBV DNA expression, seroconversion rate in combination group is higher than that in lamivudine group (46.2% vs 9.5%, P= 0.03). Conclusions The efficacy of combination therapy appeared to be better in patients with at least moderately elevated baseline ALT, high level of HBV DNA as well as HBV DNA expression in hepatocytes. Combination therapy may delay or diminish the development of YMDD mutation-related resistance to lamivudine.

Objective: To provide the evidence for the identification and genetic diversity of Pinellia ternata by studying cpDNA non-coding sequences of P. ternata and its related species. Methods: Besides P. cordate and P. pedatisecta, 43 P. ternata samples were collected from the main habitats in China. psbK-psbI and atpF-atpH sequences in leaf genome DNA were cloned by PCR. Comparative analysis was carried out by bioinformatics software. Results: The sequence length of atpF-atpH in P. ternata was 337-342 bp and conservative. The numbers of variable sites and parsimony information sites were only 7 and 1, respectively. The genetic distance was 0-0.024.The length of psbK-psbI was 432-435 bp, with 37 variable sites, including 17 information sites, and the genetic distance was 0-0.069.Cluster analysis was not consistent with the phenotype or the geographical distributions. Conclusion: The discrimination of psbK-psbI is better than that of atpF-atpH, and there are more mutation sites in psbK-psbI sequence among species in P. ternata.

The concentration of 5 nucleosides, uracil, uridine, guanidine, adenine and adenosine in culture of Paecilomyces hepialid was determined by the developed method of HPLC. The HPLC method was performed on a Waters SunFire C18 (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 μm) column with methanol-water gradient elution as the mobile phase. The detection wavelength was 260 nm and the colunmn temperature was controlled at 30 °C. The linear range was 10.00-200.00 mg · L(-1) (r = 0.9994) for uracil, 10.10-202.00 mg · L(-1) (r = 0.9992) for uridine, 10.00-200.00 mg · L(-1) (r = 0.9991) for guanidine, 10.30-206.00 mg · L(-1) (r = 0.9992) for adenine and 10.45-209.00 mg · L(-1) (r = 0.9991) for adenosine, respectively. The RSD of precision was 0.032%, 0.035%, 0.039%, 0.049%, 0.00080%, respectively. The average recoveries of uracil, guanidine, adenine, and adenosine were 97.34%, 99.10%, 101.6%, 98.61% and 100.2% with RSD of 1.3%, 2.1%, 0.96%, 0.95%, and 1.3% respectively. The method showed high sensitivity, good selectivity, linearity and repeatability, which was suitable for the content analysis of 5 nucleosides components in P. hepialid and its extracts.
