Cancer Research and Clinic 2016;28(10):664-668
Objective To evaluate the potential of S100 calcium binding proteins S100A2 and S100A6 levels in serum as diagnostic markers for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was performed to detect the levels of S100A2 and S100A6 in 141 NSCLC patients and 150 healthy subjects. Results The average level of serum S100A2 in NSCLC group was (15.02±0.79) ng/ml, that in healthy control group was (11.18±0.64) ng/ml, and the difference was statistically significant (P=0.002). The average level of serum S100A6 in NSCLC group was (12 760±651.8) pg/ml, that in healthy control group was (8 434±408.2) pg/ml, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001). The serum levels of S100A2 and S100A6 in stageⅠ/ⅡNSCLC patients were higher than those in healthy controls (P<0.05), respectively. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis showed that S100A2 and S100A6 could distinguish NSCLC patients from healthy controls [area under the curve (AUC) were 0.646 and 0.668, respectively]. Meanwhile, these two proteins showed notable capabilities for distinguishing stage Ⅰ/ⅡNSCLC from healthy controls (AUC were 0.708 and 0.702, respectively). Conclusion Serum levels of S100A2 and S100A6 are significantly elevated in the early stage for NSCLC patients, which can be the potential biomarkers for the diagnosis of NSCLC.

[Objective]To evaluate several abdominal skin flaps used for treatment of whole-finger degloving injury of multiple fingers.[Method]Since 2000, 45 patients with whole-finger degloving injury of multiple fingers except the thumb were treated with transfer of abdominal skin flaps. Among these patients,10 were treated with random abdominal tubed pattern flaps,15 with pedicle skin flaps with thoraco-umbilical perforator artery,12 with pedicle skin flaps with superficial iliaccircumflex artery, and 8 with embedding with abdominal flaps. At the second-stage operation, fingers were dissected with pedicels or with abdominal flaps before fingerweb plasty and flap plasty were carried out for many times.[Result]All the skin flaps survived. Three fingers of 3 cases had distal cutaneous necrosis after finger web plasty.Follow-up from 5 to 36 months showed the active motion of metacarpophalangeal joints averaged 60?, and interphalangeal articulations averaged 30?.Sensation recovery reached S3 in fingers with remanent palmar digital nerve, but poor in other fingers. All fingers could perform grasping. The contour of fingers was fine except for the 3 cases of necrosis.[Conclusion]Treatment of whole-finger degloving injury of multiple fingers except the thumb with suitable abdominal flaps can restore the shape and function of hand to the greatest extent and is still a practical, safe and convenient operative method.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of tulobuterol tape on mild or moderate bronchial asthma in children less than three years old . Methods Sixty-two children with mild or moderate asthma were randomized to receive either tulobuterol tape(treatment group) or procaterol hydrochloride tablet(control group) on the basis of inhaled fluticasone propionate for 2 weeks. Symptom scores of asthma, frequencies of episode of wheeze, doses of inhaled ventolin as rescue drug and the incidence of adverse reactions were recorded. Results In the treatment group, the symptom scores during daytime in the treatment group were (2. 2 ±0. 9)/week and (0. 9 ±0. 5)/week after 1 and 2 weeks of treatment, respectively, which were significantly lower than that in the control group(3.4 ± 1. 1)/week and (1. 3 ± 0. 6)/week after 1 and 2 weeks of treatment, respectively) (P < 0. 05). The symptom scores during night in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group after one week of treatment (1. 8 ± 0. 7) /week v. s. (3. 3 ± 0. 9) /week, P < 0. 05). The frequencies of episode of wheeze was significantly different between the two groups (2. 3 ±1.2 and 3. 6 ± 1.3 in the treatment and control groups, respectively (P < 0.05) .The doses of inhaled ventolin in the treatment group (2. 6 ±0.9 spray/week) was significantly lower than that in the control group (3.7 ± 0. 8) spray/week) (P < 0. 05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group (3. 12% v. s. 23. 33% ,x2 = 3. 89,P<0.05). Conclusions Tulobuterol tape is a safe and effective medication for the treatment of mild or moderate bronchial asthma in children less than three years old.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2013;(42):7396-7401
BACKGROUND:There are numerous studies about mechanical changes of recast cobalt-chromium ceramic al oys. However, little is reported on the mechanical properties of cobalt-chromium ceramic al oys containing once-used al oys after recasts.
OBJECTIVE:To study the effects of different proportion of once-used al oys to recasting cobalt-chromium al oys on their mechanical properties, including tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and hardness.
METHODS:Cobalt-chromium al oys cast samples were prepared and recast for three times (40%once-used al oys were added per time). The tensile strength, 0.2%yield strength, percentage of elongation, flexural strength and Vickers hardness of each specimen were measured. In addition, microscopic metal ographic observation was done.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Being recast for three times, cobalt-chromiun al oys showed no significant differences on their tensile strength, 0.2%yield strength, percentage of elongation, flexural strength and Vickers hardness. GenerationⅠal oy samples had uniform size, smal diameter and smal carbide size distributing along the grain boundary, mainly exhibiting spherical and irregular wormlike forms. Generations Ⅱ and Ⅲ samples were uniform in shape, but crystal grains were coarsened a little. Carbide from Generation IV samples began to be coarsened, irregular wormlike carbides were increased in amount, and a few of non-metal ic inclusions could be found in grains. Cobalt-chromium al oys can be recast after addition of 40%once-used al oys for three times at least in air environment, without decrease of the mechanical properties.

Pain is a subjective and emotional experience associated with tissue injury.Surgery can cause pain. The pain will cause sympathetic excitement, stress response, impact on circulation, respiration and neuroendocrine system, and increase heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen consumption.Pain is detrimental to cough and that can lead to atelectasis and hypoxemia because of airway secretions aggregation. Those are very unfavorable for children with congenital heart disease complicated with postoperative low cardiac output syndrome. In addition, there are greater stress response after congenital heart disease due to the operation and the cardiopulmonary bypass,so more attention should be payed to the postoperative pain.
