Objective To find out sterilization quality of pulsating vacuum sterilizer for better sterilization effect.Methods The sterilization quality was monitored by physical,chemical and biological methods.Results 4,576 subjects were involved in the test.Such data were obtained as the qualification rate for temperature,the one by chemical indicator card,the one by B-D test and the one by biological indicator,which were 99.6%,99.8%,99.9% and 100% respectively.Conclusion Above data proves that the sterilizer is in normal condition.

Objective To observe the changes of serum IGF-I,VEGF levels in premature infants,and to dis-cuss the predicting values for the development of ROP;Methods Preterm infants admitted into those whose birth weight ( BW)≤1 500g and ( or) gestational age ( GA)≤31 weeks joined in ROP-screen,and those who were diag-nosed as ROP according to ICROP were included into ROP group.In the same time,those who didn't develop ROP were divided into the control group.Serum IGF-I,VEGF were measured one week from their birth or correct gestational age of 31 weeks.Serum IGF-I, VEGF were evaluated with ELISA method.Results The concentration of IGF-I, VEGF:Group ROP[(20.65 ±11.11)μg/L,(195.61 ±105.98)ng/L] were all significantly lower than the control group [(42.86 ±18.72)μg/L,(363.59 ±101.08)ng/L](all P<0.01).There were significant different of birth weight[ROP group (1 229.69 ±232.37)g,the control group (1 401.32 ±171.78)g;t=4.144)],GM[ROP group (3.20 ±1.23)mmol/L,the control group (3.70 ±1.17)mmol/L;t=2.082],the time of oxygen inhaling[ROP group (32 ±22)d,the control group (21 ±12)d;t=-2.856],oxygen inhalation mode(the percentage of mechanical ventilation)[ROP group 33/48(68.8%),the control group 16/50(32.0%);χ2 =16.363] and fertilization way(the percentage of test tube baby)[ROP group 13/48(27.1%),the control group 4/50(8.0%);χ2 =6.262] between ROP and control group (all P<0.05).Conclusion The low serum IGF-I(<28.08μg/L),VEGF(<232.89ng/L) of a premature in the first week or correct gestational age of 31 weeks and (or)BW≤1 500g would probably suggest the development of ROP.

Objective To investigate the application of numerical simulation technique in supraorbital and frontal osseous defect.Methods The data of the patients with complex supraorbital and frontal osseous defects were obtained by helix CT scan.Numerical model based on the data was built up by computer.And the true model was produced by Rapid Prototyping.Being stimulated before this operation.the model was directly used in the operation.Results All of these 12 patients(one of defect of brow,four fracture of brow and zygoma,seven of old fracture of brow and zygoma)in this study were satisfied and their brows were symmetry after operation.All of them were satisfied after 1 or 2 years,without implantation exposure and transfiguration except one with infection.Conclusion Based on numerical technique difficulties of repairing,complex supraorbital and frontal osseous defect could be resolved by such process as collecting the bone data,stimulating operation by true models,and producing implantation before the operation.The accuracy of these operations can be improved.

Observation on the effect of whole rice and whole wheat as sole food on the growth of young rats are furtherly made. The results showed that both whole rice and whole wheat showed no significant difference in the growth of young albino rats, but the difference between the rice group and rice plus leafy vegetable and egg group and that between the wheat group and wheat plus leafy vegetable and egg group are highly significant. Addition, of small amount of vegetable and egg alternatively as supplementary food significantly enhanced the nutritive value, in terms of growth effect, of both whole rice and whole wheat.

Objective:To improve the knowledge on propythiouracil(PTU)-induced antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody(ANCA)-associated vasculitis.Methods:6 cases of PTU-induced ANCA-associated vasculitis were analyzed on clinical manifestation,laboratory and biopsy findings,therapy and prognosis.Results:All patients with Grave's disease had been treated with PTU from 2 months to 7 years suffered from ANCA-associated vasculitis, which can also appear after withdrawal of PTU. Clinical manifestations are different with only skin, joint, muscle involvements on mild cases or lung, renal and hematological involvement on severe cases. Sera from all patients were anti MPO-ANCA positive. All patients responded to withdrawal of PTU and administration of prednisone and immuno-suppressants well with ANCA declined or turned to negative.Conclusion:PTU can induce ANCA-associated vasculitis in the part of which lung and kidney can be seriously involved. Early withdrawal of PTU and administration of immunosuppressive agents might improve the prognosis.

Objective To investigate the effect of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1α and vascular en-dothelial growth factor (VEGF) on the angioge-nesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods The collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) model was set up in male Wistar rats. The pathological angiogenesis and expression of HIF-1α and VEGF in the synovia different time points were observed by H&E and immunohistochemistry staining. Results The expressions of HIF-1α and VEGF on CIA synovium were significantly elevated and their expression increased gradually with the prolonged disease course. Both synovial HIF-1α expression and VEGF expression were correlated significantly with the pathological angiogenesis score. Synovial lining and sublining HIF-1α expression were correlated significantly with VEGF expression respectively. Conclusion H1F-1α may play an important role in the pathogenesis of RA by upregulating the expression of VEGF and then promoting angiogenesis.

Expression of the GST-? in 51 cases of lung cancer was researched by quantitative RT-PCR. The results suggested that the expression of GST-? was significantly higher in lung cancer than in normal tissues adjacent to cancer, and tumoral native resistance might be dominant in tumoral resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs. No relationship was found between GST-? expression and clinicopathological parameters including tumor class, stage and differentiation. The study of GST-? expression is of importance in the evaluation of tumoral resistance to anticancer drugs.

Objective To evaluate the late complications of continent ileocolic reservoir with an unaltered in situ appendix conduit and the management. Methods Thirty patients with bladder cancer who had undergone the surgery of continent ileocolic diversion with an unaltered in situ appendix conduit were followed up for 108 to 126 months (mean 118 months).The long-term post-operative complications were documented. Results The complications occurred as follows:urinary pouch superdistention in 5 cases,calculus formation in the urinary pouch in 6,difficulty with catheterization in 4,uerteral obstruction in 3,hemorrhage of the pouch in 1 and mild hyperchloremic acidosis in 1.These complications were managed accordingly and good results achieved. Conclusions Although continent ileocolic diversion with an unaltered in situ appendix conduit has a long-term efficacy,the complications occur frequently.The procedure needs further improvement.

Objective To investigate the effects of kidney transplantation in sensitized recipients receiving conventional human leukocyte antigen(HLA) and cross-reactive groups(CREG) matching.Methods The HLA and CREG matching were used to select the best donors for 82 recipients with high titer of panel reactive antibody(PRA),and adjunctive application of plasma exchange and intravenous immunoglublin were conducted.Results The successful rate was 90%(74/82) and mortality rate was 1%(1/82).The incidence of hyperacute rejection,accelerated acute rejection,acute rejection and delayed graft function was 4%(3/82),6%(5/82),28%(23/82) and 21%(17/82),respectively.The incidences of acute rejection in groups of broad sensitized,HLA class Ⅰantibody positive recipients,HLA antibody positive recipients of post-transplantation and donor specific antibody were higher than those in groups of mild sensitized,HLA classⅡantibody positive recipients,HLA antibody positive recipients of pre-transplantation non-donor and specific antibody respectively(all P

Objective To study the effect and mechanism of gastric bypass surgery on type 2 diabetic rats.Methods The models of type 2 diabetic rats were induced by stretozotocin and 20 diabetic rats were randomly divided into 2 groups:diabetes-operation group (DO group,n =10)and diabetes-control group(DC group,n =10).20 normal rats were randomly divided into 2 groups:normal-operation(NO group,n =10) and normalcontrol group(NC group,n =10).Rats in DO and NO group underwent GBP and rats in DC group and NC group underwent sham operation.Fasting blood glucose(FBG) levels of rats in each group were detected before operation and on 72 h,1th week,4th week,8th week after operation.On the 8th week after operation,pancreas tissues were harvested for HE staining and immunofluorescence,histological changes observed.Results The FBG levels of rats were not statistically significant different before operation between DO group and DC group or between NO group and NC group (P ＞ 0.05).After operation,the FBG levels of rats in DO group gradually declined (P ＜ 0.05).FBG levels of rats in DO group were lower after operation than before operation(P ＜0.05) ; After operation FBG levels of rats were higher in DO group than in NO group and NC group at the same time point (P ＜0.05).In DC group,the difference of FBG levels of rats at different time point was not statistically significant(P ＞ 0.05).The difference of FBG had no statistically significance between the different time points of the same group or between the same time point of different groups (P ＞ 0.05).HE staining showed that,in DO group,newborn small islets appeared in pancreas which increased the number of islet.The new islets were smaller,mostly around the pancreatic duct and the structure was similar to that of the normal islets.Immunofluorescence staining also showed that the number of islets increased.Insulin immunofluorescence found more isolated small islets composed of two or three insulin positive cells.Insulin and glucagon double immunofluorescence found insulin and glucagon double positive(INS +/GLU +)cells in some islets.Conclusions GBP has obvious hypoglycemic effects on FBG levels of type 2 diabetic rats,in which the regeneration of pancreas islets may play an important role,while on normal rats GBP has no hypoglycemic effects.
