Objective To investigate the effect of miR-145 on human lung adenocarcinaoma A549 cell proliferation and FSCN1 expression. Methods pmR-mcherry/miR-145 was constructed and transfected into A549 cell,then the expression of miR-145 and the proliferation of A549 cell were verified by QPCR and MTS assay, respectively.The situation of FSCN1 expression in A549 cell was detected by Western blot.Results pmR-mcherry/miR-145 vector was constructed successfully,and QPCR results indicated that miR-145 expressed effectively.Western blot results showed that FSCN1 was one of the targets of miR-145 in A549 cell.MTS assay results indicated that miR-145 inhibited the proliferation of A549 cell.Conclusion Overexpression of miR-145 can inhibit the proliferation of A549 cell, and FSCN1 was one of its target.

Objective To assess the effect of radioiodine-131 (131Ⅰ) on treatment of pulmonary metastases from differentiated thyroid carcinoma and the main prognostic factors. Methods Five databases were retrieved and all published studies which analyzed the effect of 131Ⅰ on pulmonary metastases from differentiated thyroid carcinoma and the main prognostic factors were systematically reviewed. The data about the impact of 131Ⅰ treatment and the main prognostic factors on the 5-yr and 10-yr survival rates of the patients were abstracted. RevMan 4.2 software was used to statistically analyze. Results Eleven retrospective cohort studies were included. The pooled results suggested that the 5-yr survival rates of the patients who received 131Ⅰ therapy and who did not received 131Ⅰl therapy were 74.9% and 27.1% , respectively ;The lO-yr survival rates(P<0.01)of the two groups were 60.8% % 12.2% , respectively;The difference between them had statistical significance (P<0.01). The 5-yr and 10-yr survival rates of the patients only with pulmonary metastases were higher than those of the patients with multiple metastases (P<0.01). The 5-yr (P = 0.01) and 10-yr (P = 0. 002)surviv10al rates of the patients only with papillary thyroid carcinoma were higher than those of the patients with follicular thyroid carcinoma. The 5-yr and 10-yr survival rates of male and female patients were similar(P>0.05). Conclusions 131Ⅰ treatment increases the 5-yr and 10-yr survival rates of patients with pulmonary metastases from differentiated thyroid carcinoma. The extent of metastases and the histologie type of differentiated thyroid carcinoma are two main predicting factors of prognosis. The 5-yr and 10-yr survival rates of patients are not influenced by gender.

Background Measurement of ciliary sulcus distance is important for phakic intraocular lens implantation.Suowei panoramic 50-MHz digital ultrasound biomicroscopy makes it possible for the direct measurement of ciliary sulcus distance.Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between anterior chamber(AC)angle diameter and ciliary sulcus distance in different AC depth population and offer a clinical guide.Methods The anterior chamber angle diameter and ciliary sulcus distance were measured in 30 right eyes with shallow anterior chamber caused by suspect glaucoma and 30 right eyes with deep anterior chamber dut to the high myopia with Suowei panoramic 50-MHz digital ultrasound biomicroscopy.Three horizontal B-scans with the focal plane approximately at a depth corresponding to the iris plane were acquired for each eye.The differences of the anterior chamber angle diameter and ciliary sulcus distance were calculated and compared between the two groups.The correlation of the anterior chamber angle diameter and ciliary sulcus distance were evaluated in respective group.Results In shallow AC group,the mean angle diameter was(11.49+0.75)mm,the mean ciliary sulcus distance was (10.97±0.86)mm with the mean standard deviation of the difference of(-5.14± 0.55)mm,showing a statistically significant difference(t =-5.092,P =0.000).In shallow AC group,linear regression analysis showed a statistically significant correlation between ciliary sulcus distance and angle diameter(R2=0.593,P=0.000)and the Pearson's correlation coefficient was 0.767.In deep AC group,the angle diameter was(12.69±0.67)mm;while ciliary sulcus distance was(12.31 ± 0.61)mm with the mean slandard deviation(-0.38 ± 0.17)mm,which was statistically significantly different(t=-5.531,P=0.000).The ciliary sulcus distance was found to be linear correlation with the angle diameter(R2 =0.699,P=0.000)and Pearson' s correlation coefficient of 0.836.Conclusions Panoramic ultrasound biomicroscopy is an useful tool to the measurement of ciliary sulcus distance.This study exhibited that the ciliary sulcus distance is significant associated with the anterior chamber angle diameter,which may offer a guide for phakic intraocular lens implantation.

Objective To evaluate two treatment methods for bilateral upper urinary tract transitional cell carcinomas (TCCs). Methods Clinical data of 43 patients with bilateral upper urinary tract TCCs treated in our hospital from 1994 to 2006 were analyzed retrospectively. Of them, 13 patients underwent bilateral nephroureterectomy and the rest 30 patients received unilateral nephroureterectomy and contralateral organ-preserving surgery, including partial nephrectomy, partial pelvectomy, partial ureterectomy+end-to-end ureteral anastomosis, distal ureterectomy+reimplantation and endoscopic resection. The data were analyzed and compared between the two groups using SPSS software. Results There were no statistical differences between two groups in age, gender, incidence of hematuria, low back pain and abdominal pain, smoking, number of tumor, tumor stage, tumor grade, recurrence time, recurrence rate, survival time, survival rate, or taking aristolochic acid drugs (P>0.05). Significantly higher post-surgical costs and lower survival condition satisfaction score were found among the patients undergoing bilateral nephroureterectomy, showing a significant statistical difference between the two groups (P<0.001). Conclusions For synchronous or metachronous bilateral upper urinary tract TCCs, bilateral nephroureterectomy results in similar clinical outcomes compared with that of unilateral nephroureterectomy + contralateral organ-preserving surgery, but the latter costs lower postoperative expenses and higher life quality, therefore it is worthy to be popularized.

OBJECTIVETo probe into effect of scalp acupuncture combined with sports therapy on movement function of limbs in the patient of poststroke hemiplegia.

METHODSOne hundred and twenty cases of poststroke hemiplegia were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 60 cases in each group. The observation group were treated by scalp acupuncture and the control group by simple sports therapy. The movement function of limbs were assessed by Fugl-Meyer rating method and Barthel index.

RESULTSThe movement function of limbs and ability of daily life after treatment in the observation group improved very significantly as compared with the control group (P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONScalp acupuncture combined with sports therapy can promote recovery of the movement function of limbs in the patient of poststroke hemiplegia.

Radioiodine therapy of carcinoma could be mediated by transferring the genes which participate in the process of iodine metabolism in thyroid. The correlative genes are sodium/iodine symporter gene, thyroid peroxidase gene and the specific thyroid transcription factors, and others. The objective gene can specifically express in carcinoma by inserting the tissue-specific promoter/enhancer upstream of them, so radioiodine could be used to treat varied carcinomas. The radioiodine uptake in carcinoma cells was obviously increased and the radioiodine therapy of carcinoma was effective after those genes had expressed in carcinoma cells. The main problem was that the effective half-time of radioiodine in cells was too short to produce the ideal effect of radioiodine therapy. Moreover, 211At and 188Re could be transferred by sodium/iodine symporter and they could be used to treat the carcinoma that is capable of radioiodine uptake.

AIM:To investigate whether Smad pathway participates the process of extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK) induced the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). METHODS: Human umbilical artery smooth muscle cells (hUASMCs) were divided into four groups: control group, PDGF (platelet derived growth factor) group, ERK blocking agent group and PDGF+ERK blocking agent group. MTT assay was used to detect the proliferation of hUASMCs (A value). Immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the expression of PCNA, phosphorylated ERK (p-ERK) and phosphorylated Smad2/3 (p-Smad2/3) protein in hUASMCs. The expression of Smad2/3 mRNA in hUASMCs was detected by RT-PCR. Objective To analyze the histological underestimation of stereotactic core needle biopsy (SNCB).and tO attract clinicians' attention.Methods SNCB was performed in 146 patients with 179 lesions from September 2000 to June 2005.and 21 lesions were underestimated histologically.0f 21 nonpalpable breast lesions(NPBL).6 lesions were diagnosed as BI-RADS nl,12 8S BI-RADS Ⅳ,3 as BI-RADS V according to BI-RADS before biopsy.Mammography showed 16 lesions with calicification, 2 cases with masses,1 case with asymmetry density and 2 cases with stellate sign.Results Eleven lesions diagnosed as fibrocystic disease with atypical ductal hyperplasia by biopsy were proved to be ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS)in 7 lesions and early infiltration in 4 lesions by pathology.3 lesions diagnosed as severe atypical hyperplasia by biopsy were finally proved to be 1 carcinoma in situ and early infiltration in 2 lesions by pathology.3 lesions diagnosed as DCIS by biopsy were invasive carcinoma.4 lesions diagnosed papillary lesions by biopsy and finally were 1 carcinoma in situ,1 early infiltration,1 infiltrating ductal carcinoma and l intraductal papillary adenocarcinoma.Conclusion The histological underestimation of SCNB Was related to the stereotactic location technology,lesion and doctor'S understanding,the radiologist should master the biopsy skills.
