Objective To explore the imaging features of breast cancer by molybdenum target roentgenography in order to improve the diagnostic level. Methods The mammographic features of 68 cases with breast cancer confirmed surgically and pathologically were studied retrospectively. Results Masses with high density, spicule signs and lobulate margins were found in 61, 43 and 32 cases, respectively. Calcification was found in 29 cases (42 6%), in which only 7 cases of calcification without mass were found. Conclusion The masses and calcification are the main radiological features in breast cancer. The consciousness of comprehensive examination should be emphasized in the diagnosis of breast cancer.

Objective To investigate the imaging features of gastrointestinal stromal tumors. Methods The clinical and imaging data of 22 patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GIST)proven pathologically were retrospectively analyzed. Results Endophytic masses were displayed in 4 patients, exophytic masses in 19 patients, and exo-and endophytic masses in 3 patients. The images from the gastrointestinal radiography displayed the filling defect mass and the local mucosal fold that was pressed, pushed or even destroyed. The CT imaging showed uniform or inhomogenous tumors with calcification or necrosis and cystic changes. The enhanced CT scanning displayed different enhancements of the lesions and the enhancements were stronger in venous phase than in arterial phase.Ultrasonographical images indicated solid or cystic-solid masses with moderate-or low-level echo. Conclusion The menifestations on the images of gastrointestinal stromal tumors are helpful to diagnose the disease.

Objective To study the correlation of CT perfusion imaging ( CTPI) of induced rat breast cancer with tumor pathological grade and microvascular density ( MVD) ,and the diagnostic value of CTPI for breast cancer. Methods Breast cancer was induced in 35 Wister male rats with intragastric 7,12-dimethyl-1,2-benzanthracene ( DMBA) treatment. Routine breast CT scanning and CTPI were performed. After processed at a workstation,CTPI parameters were obtained including blood flow ( BF) ,blood volume ( BV) ,mean transit time ( MTT) ,permeability surface ( PS) ,and time density curve ( TDC). The rats were sacrificed and breast tumor tisue samples were collected. Breast tumor tisue samples were stained with HE and factor Ⅷ-related antigen immunohistochemistry to observe the pathological type and MVD of tumor. Results Breast tumor was successfully induced in 30 rats ( including 8 with breast hyperplasia and 22 with breast cancer). The BF and BV were higher in rats with breast cancer than in those with breast hyperplasia 151. 72 ? 93. 43 vs 42. 96 ? 32. 42 ml/( min.100 g) ,9. 55 ? 7. 88 vs 2. 17 ? 1. 36 ml/100 g,P 0. 05). The positive correlation of MVD with BF,BV and PS was increased with the decreased tumor differentiation with a correlation coefficient of 0. 701,0. 441 and 0. 521,respectively ( P

Objective To explore the imaging method and the value of clinical application of spiral CT virtual endoscopy(CTVE)to stomach. Methods After 36 patients took the aerosis agent or 5% contrast medium, virtual endoscopic images were obtained by using GE-Navigator smooth image model and multiplanar reconstruction. Results Two types of contrasts complemented each other.Normal gastric structure, stenosis and obstruction were clearly visualized in 36 patients. Conclusion CTVE can provide a noninvasive diagnostic method, supplemented to fiberoptic endoscopy, but its sensitivity and specificity should be improved.

Objective To explore the MRI features of soft tissue hemangiomas. Methods The size, margin, morphology and signal pattern of the lesions in MRI findings in 18 patients with soft tissue hemangiomas proved pathologically were retrospectively analyzed. Results Of the 18 cases, there were 8 cases of angiocavernoma (1 0-4 0 cm in size) with clear border, homogeneous high signal in the lesion and low signal ring on the border, 5 cases of intramuscular hemangioma, presented as irregular mass with mixed signals mainly composed of high signal on T2WI, 3 cases of angioma arteriale racemosu with tortuous dilation of blood vessel and amyotrophy as its MRI feature, and 2 cases of venous angioma with thick wall of vein but without supplying arteries. Conclusion Soft tissue hemangioma can usually be diagnosed correctly according to MRI characteristics and clinical data.

Objective To assess the clinical value of multi-slice CT(MSCT)in showing the ear lesions. Methods MSCT high resolution scan images of 52 ears of 11 normal adult and 15 patients with hearing loss were reconstructed,by bone plus with 0.625 mm collimation,9.6 cm small field of vision(FOV)and 0.3 mm reconstruction interval before volume rendering(VR)and multiplanar reformation(MPR)were performed. Results VR,MIP and MPR images of 40 normal ears clearly showed the complicated anatomic structures.VR,MIP and MPR images of twelve abnormal ears displayed 3 ears of malformations of crus longum incudis,1 ear of destructed semicircular canals,2 ears of malleus dysplasia,2 ears of fusion of incudostapedial joint,2 ears of bony atresia of external auditory complicated with auditory ossicles dysplasia, and 2 ears of crus stapedis dysplasia.MPR is easier to manipulate than VR that has three dimensional effect butis difficult to handle. Conclusion HRCT images, combined with post-processing technique of VR,MIP and MPR,can clearly show the anatomic structures and lesions of middle and inner ears.

Objective To analyze the status of blood supply at appearance of the first enhanced signal on dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI of hepatic cell cancer(HCC) of differentiated degree. Methods HCC was induced chronically with 1 ml of 2% DEN solution once a day in 80 rats for 14 weeks, and another 10 rats served as normal controls. All rats received dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI examination on week 16,18,20,21,22,23,24,25.The time-intensity curve was drawn and the slope rate of the first enhanced signal(S_(first)) was counted, then specimens were taken and observed of microvessel density(MVD) with light microscope. Results The differentiated degree of HCC was correlated with S_(first) and MVD.The poorer HCC differentiation, the bigger S_(first).Well differentiated HCC had low MVD,while poorly differentiated had higher MVD.Conclusion MVD is the main influence factor for that the S_(first) were significantly different between HCC of differentiated degree.

Objective To investigate the manifestation of HCC on superparamagnetic iron oxide(SPIO)-enhanced MRI in rats and clarify its pathologic basis in hope of the application of SPIO-enhanced MRI in estimation of histological grading in HCC.Methods HCC was induced chronically with 1 ml of 2% DEN solution once a day in 80 rats for 14 weeks, and another 10 rats served as normal controls. All rats received dynamic MR examinations on week 16,18,20,21,22,23,24,25.MR imaging was performed before and after SPIO injection using SE-T1WI,FMPSPGR-T1WI,GRE-T2WI,FSE-PDWI,FSE-T2WI, and the relative parameters were obtained.Rats were killed as soon as MRI finished. The tumors were observed grossly and the parts matched with the lesions on MRI were cut into pieces, stained with HE and PerIs,for pathologic examination. Results Kupffer cell number in HCCs was significantly smaller than that in normal liver tissues(P
