The fetal neocortieal transplant(E15~17 days of gestation) of Wistar rats was grafted to the corresponding neocortical region of young rats of same strain. The immunohis-tochemical study and horseradish peroxidase(HRP) retrograde tracing were performed on the 7th,15th,30th, 60th,150th day after transplantation. The results showed that most grafted neurons survived, grew, differentiated and matured. The morphology of neurons was similar to the struc-ture of the neocortical neurons of host brain;integration of varying degree at the interface and reciprocal connection between graft and host brain tissue were established.

Modern Clinical Nursing 2015;(8):54-57
Objective To investigate the experience of family caregivers in nursing perioperative patients undergoing permanent cardiac pacemaker. Methods Twenty-five family caregivers taking care of the patients undergoing permanent cardiac pacemaker participated in the non-structural study. Data were analyzed by phenomenological procedure. Result The factors by category analysis includes fear, anxiety and uneasiness due to preoperative lack of relevant knowledge and postoperative lack of caring experience, lowered health level of the caregivers, strong demand for health education and lack of confidence in home care. Conclusions The family caregivers′ experience varies with different phases in perioperative period. Nurses should provide personalized services to enhance the continuity of home care so as to enhance the care quality.

By using immunohistochemistry LSAB method and imaging analysis technique, the expression of α1-antitrypsinase (α1-AT) in 41 cases of bronchioalveolar carcinoma (BAC) was quantitatively detected to explore the relationship between αl-AT expression in BAC tissues and clinical pathology. The results showed that the total positive rate for αl-AT expression was 85.4%. The positive rate for αl-AT expression in alveolar BAC was 100%, with the immunity reactive staining intensity being significantly higher than in papillary BAC, mucinous BAC or sclerosing BAC (P<0.05). The positive rate in papillary BAC was 93.3%, with the intensity higher mucinous BAC or sclerosing BAC (P<0.01); The positive rate in both mucinous BAC and sclerosing BAC was 66.7% (P>0.05); The expression intensity in lymph node metastatic group was obviously lower than that in the group without metastasis (P<0.01); The patients with mucinous BAC were diagnosed at a younger age than those with other histologic types of BAC (P<0.05). It was suggested that BAC cells could also produce αl-AT. Detection of α1-AT could be used as a new method to diagnose BAC and might play a role in assessing BAC metastasis.

To study the growth-inhibitory effects of curcumin on human ovary cancer A2780 cells in vitro and its molecular mechanisms, the growth inhibition rates of A2780 cancer cells, after being treated with 10 micromol/L-50 micromol/L curcumin for 6-24 h, were examined by MTT method. The morphological changes of cancer cells were observed under inversion microscopy. Cellular apoptotic rates were determined by using TUNEL. The protein expression levels of bcl-2, p53 and MDM2 in cancer cells were examined by SP immunohistochemistry. After being treated by various concentrations of curcumin, the growth of cancer cells was inhibited significantly. Some cancer cells presented characteristic morphological changes of apoptosis. The rates of apoptosis were 6.41%-28.48% (P<0.01). The expression of bcl-2 and p53 was decreased, which depended on the action time (P<0.01). There were no obvious changes in MDM2 expression. It was concluded that curcumin could significantly inhibit the growth of ovary cancer cells. The induction of apoptosis by down-regulating the expression of bcl-2 and p53 was probably one of its molecular mechanisms.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2010;24(15):690-692
OBJECTIVE:
To detect the expression and relationship between somatostatin receptor 2 (SSTR2) and phosphorylated STAT3 (P-STAT3) in human olfactory neuroblastoma (ONB) and adjacent normal olfactory nerve tissue.
METHOD:
Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining was used to detect the expression of SSTR2 and P-STAT3 in tumor and adjacent normal olfactory nerve tissue from 11 ONB patients.
RESULT:
SSTR2 was mainly expressed in cell cytoplasm and the expression intensity was significantly stronger in tumor tissues than in adjacent normal tissues (P<0.01). P-STAT3 was mainly expressed in cell nuclear in tumor tissues. No expression was found in adjacent normal tissues. There was a negative correlation between the expression intensity of SSTR2 and P-STAT3 (r(s) = -0.367, P<0.05).
CONCLUSION
Lower expression of SSTR2 and activation of STAT3 in ONB cells might contribute to the development of ONB.
