Objective To investigate the characteristics of amino acids metabolism in breast cancer patients so as to provide theoretic evidence for nutrition support.Method The levels of free amino acids in plasma and urine were examined in 55 breast cancer patients and 50 normal controls with Hitachi L-8900 amino acid analyzer.Results Compared with the normal controls,the plasma level of methionine increased significantly in breast cancer patients [(48.22 ± 12.90) μmol/L,P =0.04),while the levels of 7 amino acids decreased,ineluding isoleucine [(43.07 ± 14.88) μmol/L,P =0.04],leucine [(93.22 ± 18.29) μmol/L,P =0.01],valine [(200.86 ± 42.11) μmol/L,P =0.04],arginine [(46.49 ± 11.79) μmol/L,P =0.00],lysine [(107.37 ±32.61) μmol/L,P=0.01],tyrosine [(29.51 ±18.09) μmol/L,P=0.02] and phenylalanine [(57.39 ± 17.03) μmol/L,P =0.00],and branched chain amino acids/aromatic amino acid decreased to 1.81 ± 0.81 (P =0.04).Compared with the normal controls,the urine levels of phenylalanine [(22.01 ± 4.37) μmol/L,P=0.01],tyrosine [(12.13 ±5.72) μmol/L,P=0.02] and lysine [(107.37 ± 32.61) μmol/L,P =0.00] increased significantly in breast cancer patients,while the urine levels of leucine [(0.84 ±0.21) μmol/L,P =0.04] and valine [(0.50 ± 1.10) μmol/L,P =0.01] decreased significantly,and the ratio of branched chain amino acids/aromatic amino acid dropped to 1.91 ± 0.60 (P =0.03).Conclusions There is metabolic disorders of amino acids in patients who breast cancer.The focus of the amino acid imbalance treatment for breast cancer patients are supplementation of branch amino acids and arginine.

Phytoestrogens (PEs) and estrogen receptorβ(ERβ) have close relationship with breast cancer. PEs preferentially binds to ERβ rather than ERa. Although there are still some arguments, it provides a new though for researching the mechanism of Phytoestrogen-containing herbs on breast cancer and exploring the essence of TCM theory.

Objective To understand the current status of nosocomial infection after renal trans plantation. Methods106 patients after renal transplantation were randomly divided into the laminar flow ward group (54 cases)and the ICU group (52 cases).The nosocomial infection situation of the twogroups was compared.ResultsThe rate of nosocomial infection in the laminar flow ward group was lower than that in the ICU group.The number of bacterial colony in laminar flow wards was less than that in ICU.Conclusions The rate of nosocomial infection in the laminar flow ward was lower than that in the ICU after renal tranaplantation.Patients after renal transplantation should he admitted in laminar flow ward in order to reduce the rate of nosocomial infection.

Objective To observe the effect of glycyrrhizin (CG) on the proliferation and the expressions of interleukin (IL)-2, IL-4 in human keratinocytes cell line HaCaT cells, and to investigate the therapeutic mechanism of CG in the pa?tients with psoriasis. Methods The HaCaT cells were divided into four groups:blank group (without CG), low concentration group (50μL CG/mL cell supernatant), medium concentration group (100μL CG/mL cell supernatant) and high concentra?tion group (200μL CG/mL cell supernatant). Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay was performed to evaluate the prolifer?ation of HaCaT cells that were treated with CG at different concentrations respectively for 24 hours. The contents of IL-2 and IL-4 in HaCaT cells were examined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results Compared with the blank group, there were obviously inhibitory effects in the proliferation of HaCaT cells treated by low,medium and high concentra?tions of CG for 24 hours. There was no significant difference in IL-2 level between low concentration CG group and blank group (ng/L:234.51±17.98 vs 225.31±16.23, P>0.05). After 24 hours of intervention with CG of medium and high concen?trations, the expression levels of IL-2 was significantly lower in HaCaT cells than that in blank group and low concentration group. The IL-2 level was significantly lower in high concentration group than that in medium concentration group (ng/L:188.99±19.22 vs 208.49±18.40, P<0.05). At the same condition, the secretion of IL-4 in HaCaT cells was significantly up-regulated in high concentration group than that in other three groups (ng/L:45.67±10.29 vs 37.62±3.90, 39.68±6.08, 43.85± 10.26, P<0.05). Conclusion Glycyrrhizin may suppress the proliferation of human skin keratinocytes by regulating secre?tion of cytokines IL-2 and IL-4.

Objective To discuss the construction and application of computer system in the radiology department of medium and small hospitals.Methods Through the local area network,the self-invented Radiological Information System(RIS) was linked to the Hospital Information System(HIS) and Wandong DR equipment software in coordination with the Neusoft CT software and the digital stomach and intestines software.Results A simple extraordinary and practical radiological information system was established,which possessed functions of PACS.Conclusion The management level in radiology department is enhanced and the working efficiency is increased.

Objective:To evaluate the alternation of homocysteine (Hcy),folic acid(FA),CA15-3 and vitaminB12(VitB12) in patients with breast cancer and explore the correlation of them.Methods:The levels of FA ,CA15-3 and VitB12 in serum of 55 breast cancer and 35 benign tumor of breast and 50 controls were measured by electro-chemiluminescence immunoassay ( ECLI ) , the Hcy levels were measured by colorimetric method.Results:Compared with the normal controls and benign tumor of breast cancer ,there were some significantly changes in breast cancer patients including Hcy ,CA15-3 increased and FA ,VitB12 reduced ( P＜0.05 ) ,there were no significant differences in Hcy,FA,CA15-3,VitB12 levels between benign breast tumors and normal controls (P>0.05).Companied with TNM stage increased ,the levels of FA breast cancer groups decreased ,the levels of Hcy,CA15-3 increased.The correlation analysis showed that Hcy was negatively correlated with FA and VitB 12,(r=-0.341,r=-0.540),CA15-3 was negatively correlated with FA, CA15-3 was postively correlated with Hcy (r=0.378,r=-0.361).Conclusion: Serum Hcy,CA15-3,FA and VitB12 detection in patients with breast cancer are helpful in the severity judgment and regimen prognosis .

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and cupping on the back in the treatment of allergic rhinitis.Methods:Thirty-one cases of allergic rhinitis were treated by acupuncture and moving cupping,twice a week;five treatments made up one course and two-course treatments were given.Result:Sixteen cases were cured,14 cases improved and 1 case failed.Conclusion:Acupuncture plus cupping has positive effects on allergic rhinitis.

Objective:To explore the rule of acupoints for treating nasal conditions in acupuncture verses.Method:The 20 acupuncture verses were selected to build a database,and data.were retrieved from the database with the key word of nose,and comprehensive analysis was done basing on the search results.Results:In acupuncture verses,there were 12 verses referring to treatment of nasal conditions,including 22 acupoints prescription,in which 8 were repeated,involving 12 acupoints and 5 meridians.The major diseases included nasal bleeding,nasal polypus,rhinorrhoea and nasal obstruction.Conclusion:The characteristics of treating nasal conditions in acupuncture verses included selecting acupoint along meridian,selecting acupoint from the local area and selecting acupoints from yang meridian.Shangxing(GV 23),Yingxiang(LI 20)and Hegu(LI 4)can be the basic acupoints for treating nasal conditions.

Objective To evaluate the immunogenicity of a recombinant adenovirus containing the porin IB (PIB) gene and Neisseria surface protein A (NspA) gene of N.gonorrhoeae in BALB/c mice.Methods A recombinant adenovirus containing the PIB gene and NspA gene of N.gonorrhoeae (pAdEasy-1-PN) was constructed in previous studies.Thirty BALB/c mice were randomly and equally divided into 5 groups:low-,medium-and high-dose experiment group intramuscularly immunized with 104,106,and 108 50％ tissue culture infective dose (TCID50) of the recombinant adenovirus pAdEasy-1-PN,respectively,pAdEasy-1 control group immunized with 106 TCID50 of pAdEasy-1,blank control group immunized with sodium chloride physiological solution.Immunization was carried out twice at a 4-week interval.Serum samples were collected at 0,3 and 5 weeks after the first immunization,and spleens were removed at 5 weeks followed by the isolation of spleen lymphocytes.Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was performed to determine the serum levels of PIB-specific and NspA-specific antibodies,methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay to evaluate the proliferaton activity of spleen lymphocytes after stimulation by the recombinant PIB and NspA antigens.A slide agglutination test was used to estimate the anti-bacterial activity of murine serum.The complement-dependent bacteriolytic activity of murine serum was also evaluated.Statistical analysis was carried out by t test.Results Both humoral and cellular immune response specific to PIB and NspA were elicited by the recombinant adenovirus in mice.At 3 and 5 weeks after the immunization,significant differences were observed in the serum levels of PIB-specific (F =285.72,564.83,respectively,both P ＜ 0.01) and NspA-specific (F =521.57,542.61,respectively,both P ＜ 0.01)antibodies.Also,the proliferation index was statistically different among these groups in spleen lymphocytes stimulated with PIB and NspA (F =171.61,233.96,respectively,both P ＜ 0.01).The vaccination efficiency was positively correlated with the inoculation dose of recombinant pAdEasy-1-PN,and 108 TCID50 per dose proved to be the optimal dose for immunization.The sera from mice immunized with pAdEasy-1-PN could agglutinate N.gonorrhoeae and kill it in the presence of complement.Conclusions The recombinant adenovirus pAdEasy-1-PN containing PIB and NspA genes could induce specific humoral and cellular immune response in mice,and may be a potential vaccine against N.gonorrhoeae.
