1.Chitosan and its modification for gene delivery
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2008;12(14):2793-2800
Gene vectors are of great importance in gene therapy.Research on non-viral gene vectors has become the most urgent issue as viral gene vectors have shown a series of safety problems during clinical application.Chitosan is one of the best potential non-viral gene vectors because of its excellent physico-chemical and biological properties. In recent years,a lot of works have been done on chitosan and its modification for gene delivery, and valuable progresses have been achieved. In this paper, recent progresses in chitosan and its modified derivates for gene delivery are reviewed in temls of size, stability, specific targeting ability and gene transfection efficiency of the chitosan/gene complex.
2.Evaluation of Mapcheck for IMRT Quality Assurance
Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2004;0(09):-
Objective The goal of this work is to evaluate the dosimetric characteristics of a new 2D diode array (Mapcheck from Sun Nuclear Corporation,Melbourne,Florida) and assess the role it can play in routine IMRT QA. Methods Fundamental properties of the Mapcheck such as reproducibility and linearity were studied for high-energy photon beams. Clinical performance of the MapCheck for relative and absolute dosimetry was demonstrated with head and neck IMRT plans, and compared with plan dose distribution. Absolute dose measured by Ion chamber and Mapcheck are compared with the one given in TPS. Results The Mapcheck offers the dosimetric characteristics required for performing both relative and absolute dose measurements. Conclusion Mapcheck can provide the verification of absolute dose and relative dose. Its use in the clinic can simplify and reduce the IMRT QA workload.

Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2015;(8):724-727
ObjectiveTo observe the effect of acupuncture plus rehabilitation training on the function recovery of patients with post-stroke depression.MethodNinety-eight patients with post-stroke depression were randomized into two groups to receive conventional management and anti-depressants. The control group was intervened by sham-acupuncture plus Fluoxetine tablets and comprehensive rehabilitation training, while the observation group was by acupuncture plus Fluoxetine tablets and comprehensive rehabilitation training. Prior to the intervention and after 8-week treatments, the depression state, motor function and activities of daily life (ADL) were evaluated by using Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and Modified Barthel Index (MBI). The indexes and quality of life were also determined during the 3-month follow-up study.ResultBefore intervention, there were no significant differences in comparing HAMD, FMA and MBI scores (P>0.05). After 8-week treatment, the HAMD, FMA and MBI scores were significantlyimprovedin both groups (P<0.01,P<0.05). After treatment, the HAMD, FMA, and MBI scores in the observation group were significantlydifferent fromthat in the control group (P<0.01,P<0.05). The total effective rate was 90.0% in the observation group versus 79.2% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The 3-month follow-up study showed significant differences in comparing the indexes between the two groups (P<0.05, P<0.01).ConclusionAcupuncture plus rehabilitation training benefits the improvement of depression state, motor function, cognitive function and quality of life in patients withpost-stroke depression, and is worth promotion.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of the RevoLix 70 Watt 2 micron continuous wave laser vaporesection for treatment of large volume benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH,>80 g).Methods Forty-five patients with obstructive BPH were treated with 2 micron continuous wave laser vaporesection. The age ranged from 57 to 88 years with a mean of 69 years.Nine patients had acute urinary retention.Mean prostatic volume was(96±1 3)ml(ranged from 80 to 128 m1).Eight cases were given suprapubic puncture. All cases were successfully anesthetized by using epidural anesthesia. At the beginning of the operation, the distal resection border close to the verumontanum was marked and laser incisions were performed at 5 and 7 o'clock lithotomy position.Firstly, median lobe was vaporeseeted closely along capsule from bladder neck to verumontanum.Secondly, prostate at 12 o'clock was vaporesected until the capsule was reached, and both lateral lobes were dissected downward.Thirdly, the apical position was enucleated by sheath, and then prostate was vaporesected from the tissue in 12 o'clock position to the tissue at 6.It was important to follow the 2 principles:inner to extra,up to down.Transfusion rate, resection time, time of indwelling catheter, improvement in urinary flow rate(Qmax),international prostate symptom score(IPSS)and quality of life(QOL)were measured. Results AIl cases were successfully operated.except one whose left lateral lobe was left due to heavy fluctuation of heart rate and blood pressure in operation. The mean operation time was (104±12)min.Transfusions were not necessary in any patients. The catheter was indwelled for 3 to 5 d postoperatively. One case had urethral stricture 3 weeks after operation, and urinated free after 22 times urethral sounding disj unctively. All cases were followed up for 3-1 2 months. All patients were satisfied with voiding outcome, none had incontinence.Mean Qmax increased from(3.3±0.5)ml/spreoperatively to(16.5±1.5)ml/s postoperatively.IPSS decreased from 28.6±5.5 to 8.3±2.3 and QOL score decreased from 4.5±0.4 to 2.7±0.2.respectively(P<0.01).No hemorrhage occurred after the operation. Conclusion RevoLix 2 micron continuous wave laser vaporesection for treatment of large volume BPH is a safe and effective relief therapy, and that in combination with enucleation could improve the efficiency of vaporesection.

AIM: To investigate the genes differential expression in cortex during rat focal cerebral ischemia. METHODS: cDNA microarray chips containing numerous cDNAs were used to investigate the gene expression pattern between samples of focal cerebral ischemia and sham-control operation rats. RESULTS: Two hundred and eleven genes differentially expressed were screened out, among these genes, up-and down-regulated genes were 199 and 12, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The analysis of gene expression pattern of focal cerebral ischemia based on cDNA microarray can realize high-throughput screening of the genes associated with the focal cerebral ischemia. The differential expression of genes may be related to the pathogenesis of focal cerebral ischemic diseases.

【Objective】 To establish an information management platform for provincial rare blood group bank to achieve the interconnection and sharing of data such as rare blood group types, donor information and blood inventory, so as to enhance the supply security of rare blood group blood. 【Methods】 The information barriers of rare blood group management in each business link and among blood stations in Zhejiang province were analyzed using fishbone diagram. Data modeling technology was introduced based on the unified blood collection and supply business system and blood cloud platform of Zhejiang, the database view of rare blood group donors and rare blood group was constructed through demand analysis and model design, and a unified query platform was developed to achieve the sharing of rare blood group information. 【Results】 The system integrated, retrievaled and displayed rare blood type information, achieving the interconnection of information among various business links and blood stations within blood banks. Up to now, in addition to RhD negative blood group, there were 8 types of rare red blood cells in the bank, covering 7 blood group systems, 289 rare blood group donors and 216 units of frozen red blood cells of rare blood group. 【Conclusion】 The information system based on data modeling can improve the overall efficiency and collaboration of the system, and reduce the workload of system development and operation. It can provide reference for standardized data management and application, and also provide a model for establishing and improving of a national rare blood group information network.
