1.Investigation on biological effects of some species from the branch Crinum, Amaryllidaceae, on experimental model Artemia salina
Pharmaceutical Journal 1999;282(10):23-25
Screening of water, MeOH, ether extracts from all parts of some Crinum species has been conducted using the Brine shrimp microwell cytotoxicity assay. The water, MeOH extracts from the root, bulbs of all studied Crinum species and the water, MeOH extracts from the leaves of C. latifolium analyzed showed toxicity to the brine shrimp (LC50<1000 m/ml). the most promising extracts (LC50 < 300 m/ml) were the total alcaloid extracts from all parts of Crinum species.

2.Modernization of traditional drugs of ethnic minorities in Vietnam
Pharmaceutical Journal 1999;282(10):3-6
In the Vietnam medicine and pharmacy system, parallel to the western medicine, the oriental medicine Vietnamese traditional medicine plays an important role in people's health care. The oriental medicine consists of two components: The first one is the official traditional medicine that its origin mainly comes from the Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the second one is local hereditary medicine of the ancient Vietnamese people and the ethnic minorities. The local hereditary medicine has a great potentiality but it is faced to a risk of loss. It should be officially recognized and institutionalized. Moreover, it should be funded to study, and step by step modernize for conservation and development.

3.Investigation on anti-microorganism and cytotoxic properties of alkaloids from some species of Crinum in Vietnam
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;234(4):18-21
Investigation on anti-microorganism and cytotoxic properties of alkaloids from Crinum latigolium L. and Crinu asiaticum L. (Amaryllidaceae) growing in Vietnam and seven pure alkaloids from these plants. The total alkaloids from C.latifolium L. and C. asiaticum L/ showed a strong effect against Sarcina lutea while pratorinine was found to be active against Staphylococcus aureus. Among the evaluated alkaloids, lycorine showed a very strong cytotoxic activity on Hep-G2, RD and Fi and 1-O-acetyl – lycorine exhibited a moderate activity on Hep-G2. The remaining alkaloids were found not to be cytotoxic in all tested cell lines.

5.Extraction of carpamic acid from leaves of carica papaya L, Caricaceae
Pharmaceutical Journal 1999;282(10):12-13
Carpamic acid was an alkaloid as a hydrolysate from carpamic alkaloid in the past. Today, the carpamic acid is extracted from leaves of carisa papaya L. by many ways and isolated by column chromatography so it is proven as originated from leaves of carica papaya L. caricaceae.
