1.Study on pilot preparation of the intradermic distributive system of DHEA by technique of frame work creation fixed on Eudragir E100
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;328(8):15-18
Effects of HPCD and PVP in transdermal delivery systems prepared by combination of Eudragit E100, medium chain triglyceride and isopropyl alcohol on DHEA skin permeation properties were studied. The results were shown that HPCD and PVP have good effects both in permeation properties of DHEA in vitro through pig’s ear stratum corneum and the release properties of DHEA to skin surface. The highest permeation rate reported was about 3.88 mg/cm2.h that indicated the ability of using the patches as a dosage form for administration of DHEA

Journal of Breast Cancer 2009;12(3):151-155
PURPOSE: Partial mastectomy without immediate volume replacement can be associated with cosmetic failure. The aim of the present study was to assess cosmesis achieved in patients who underwent partial mastectomy and reconstruction using absorbable surgical mesh. METHODS: We used absorbable surgical mesh (Polyglactin 910, Vicryl(R)) to repair defects after performing partial mastectomy in 25 patients. Endoscopy-assisted partial mastectomy was performed with conservation of the whole skin of the breast and areola. A tailored fan-shape mesh was inserted into the postoperative defect. The cosmetic appearance was evaluated using a simplified five-grade for five-items scoring system at 3 and 6 months after the operation. RESULTS: An excellent or good cosmetic result was obtained in 82.6% of the patients (19/23) after 3 and 6 months, and no major complications were noted. CONCLUSION: This procedure can be easily performed by general surgeons. Insertion of an absorbable surgical mesh into the postoperative defect could be an effective modality for reconstructing a defect after breast surgery.

The Korean Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery 2000;33(2):183-185
With the marked decrease in operative mortality in simple heart diseases there have been several reports on the minimally invasive and cosmetic techniques including submammary incision right parasternal approach right anterolateral thoracotomy partial sternotomy and subxiphoid approach. We report here subxiphoid approach without sternotomy for the repair of atrial septal defect as the procedure that has less invasive technique and more cosmetic effect.

Asian eyes may have a narrow palpebral fissure and an upward Mongolian slant that is sometimes perceived as an angry or unfavorable expression. Among the various methods of oculoplastic surgery, lateral canthoplasty can alter the structure of the eyes such that they appear much bigger, thereby conveying a more favorable expression. We performed a lateral canthoplasty in which the lower eyelid tarsus was fixed to the periosteum while the lateral canthus was moved downward and backward. Here, we describe the surgical procedure we used to perform this technique.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate a method to partially remove gastrocnemius for improvement of the contour of the leg.
METHODSThirteen patients with bulked calf were undergoing the treatment. With a self-designed apparatus, the gastrocnemius was partially removed by placing the device in the muscle through an incision in the popliteal fossa. The follow-ups were carried out for 1-6 months.
RESULTSThirteen patients were successfully treated by above mentioned technique. The removed amount of muscle was weighted between 11 g and 201 g, averaged 77 g. All of the patients could be able to walk three days after the operation. But, the normal walk had to take 1 month after of the surgery for recovering. The function of the ankle joint was not obviously influenced.
CONCLUSIONThe above mentioned technique is a safe and effective method for re-contouring the leg.

The indication for sail excision technique was a hanging ala (type IV) based on the classification of alar-columellar discrepancies by Gunter emet al/em. The outcomes were described with comparison of pre-operative and post-operative photographs.br /br /strongRESULTS:/strong Post-operative improvement of the alar-columellar relationship and counter-rotation of the tip, the gull's wing in flight was further enhanced. There were no scar contracture or vestibular stenosis, and scars were aesthetically acceptable.br /br /strongCONCLUSION: /strongAlar lift surgery demands an accurate diagnosis and analysis of the alar-columellar discrepancies. In Southeast Asian noses, unlike Caucasian noses, the most common indication for alar surgery are wide and overhanging ala. Our proposed technique is an easy and safe method of correcting alar overhang. This procedure with its advantages represents a new, reliable and simple way of achieving predictable results in many rhinoplasty cases./p

9.A Quick and Easy Technique for Lateral Canthoplasty Using Reverse V-Y Advancement: A Case Report

Archives of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery 2018;24(1):32-35
Cosmetic lateral canthoplasty has become popular among Asians in the last few decades, but few techniques have withstood the test of time to be accepted as both effective and noninvasive, with minimal complications. Novel techniques have been developed, but are not free from complications. Moreover, these methods often have limited indications and may require a rather long learning curve to master. Herein, the authors present their experiences performing a simple lateral canthoplasty procedure in 61 patients using a slightly modified V-Y advancement flap, previously known as the Uchida method.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2018;36(1):52-55
OBJECTIVE:
This study aims to explore the effect of cosmetic technique on the modification of lip deformity after cleft lip surgery.
METHODS:
A total of 35 patients with postoperative cleft lip and who needed two-stage repair due to the nasolabial deformity were selected. Cosmetic technique was used to modify their lip deformities prior to the surgery. Front photos of the patients were taken before and after modification of their lip deformities. These photos were subsequently assessed by both the patients and the medical staff. The visual analogue method, Asher-McDade aesthetic index, and Mortier PB scale were used by patients and medical staff to evaluate changes in the lip shape by the cosmetic technique.
RESULTS:
Prior to the cosmetic technique application, the mean self-score of the patients and the mean scores of the medical staff were 56±13 and 3.22±1.11 points, respectively. After the cosmetic technique application, the mean self-score of the patients and the mean scores of the medical staff were 67±12 and 2.85±1.03 points, respectively. The differences were statistically significant for both the patients and the medical staff (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
Appropriate use of the cosmetic technique can modify the lip deformity after the cleft lip surgery to a certain degree. The use of this technique exerts evident effects in restoring the symmetry
of lip peak and the continuity of the labial arch and in highlighting the philtrum column.
