Leptospirosis is an important zoonosis with worldwide distribution. As the first procedure in immunity system, the role and significance of innate immunity in controlling infection at the early stage of the disease have gradually been emphasized. Macrophages can phagocytize and kill leptospira, while the pathogenic leptospira can evade the killing by macrophages. In addition, neutrophils, complement system and cytokines also contribute to the defence of leptospira infection.

Purpose: To observe the clinical effect of combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbal drugs for genual osteoarthritis. Methods: 138 cases of the patients were randomly divided into the treatment group of 85 cases treated by electric acupuncture and moxibustion plus Chinese herbal drugs and the control group of 53 cases treated by oral administration of medications. The patients stopped treatment for one month after the treatment for one month, then the therapeutic effects were observed and compared. Results: The total effective rate was 89.4% in the treatment group and 56.6% in the control group, with extremely significant difference (P < 0.01) between the two groups. Conclusion: Electric acupuncture and moxibustion plus Chinese herbal drugs have a marked and irrefutable therapeutic effect on genual osteoarthritis.

Objective To explore the role of ppk1 gene in E.coli CFT073 strain during urinary tract infection (UTI). Methods C57BL/6 mouse models of acute UTI with the wild-type(CFT073) and ppk1 mutant (△pk1) infected, were used to compare the bacteria colonization and inflammation induction abilities of bladder tissues. Results In the mouse models, the △pk1 strain showed a significantly lower infection rate (73.3% vs 93.3%) and lower adhesion frequency of bladder (0.01%vs 0.5%) than those of the CFT073 strain. The expression of IL-6 and TNF-αwere reduced in the bladder of △pk1 infected group (P<0.05). Hematoxylin-Eosin tissue staining showed that the damage degree of bladders in △pk1 infected mice were less serious than the CFT073 infected mice. Conclusion ppk1 gene plays an important role in E.coli colonization to bladder and the inflammation induction ability.

Objectives To study the signiifcance of ifbrin related markers such as ifbrin monome (FM), D-dimer (D-D), fibrinogen and fibrin degradation products (FDP) in diagnosis of pre-disseminated intravascular coagulation (pre-DIC) state in children with severe pneumonia. Methods A total of 213 children with severe pneumonia in pediatric intensive care unit were divided into pre-DIC group and case control group according to the occurrence of pre-DIC. And 40 healthy children were included as normal control group. FM、D-D、FDP、prothrombin time (PT)、activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT)、ifbrinogen (FIB)、platelet count (PLT)、thrombomodulin (TM) levels were analyzed. Receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the above indexes. Results All the markers but FIB showed signiifcant difference among the three groups (P<0 . 05 ). The differences of FM、D-D、FDP、APTT in paired comparison among the three groups were also signiifcant (P<0.01), Pre-DIC group had the highest level and case control group was the second. Pre-DIC group had higher PT than that of the other two groups (P<0 . 05 ), but PT levels in normal control group and the control group are of no signiifcant difference (P>0 . 05 ). Compared with those in normal control group, TM and PLT levels were signiifcantly higher in the other two groups (P<0 . 01 ), but the differences of TM and PLT in pre-DIC group were not signiifcant in comparison to those in case control group (P>0 . 05 ). FM、D-D、FDP had larger area under curves (AUC) for pre-DIC than other indexes ( 0 . 84、0 . 76、0 . 64 , respectively). The AUC for the joint detection of the three indexes was 0 . 85 . Conclusions Fibrin related markers such as FM、D-D and FDP are valuable indexes in diagnosis of pre-DIC state in children with severe pneumonia, the joint detection of the three indexes would help to improve diagnostic accuracy.

Objective To observe the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and umbilical treatment on diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D)with mental disorders. Methods Thirty-seven cases with IBS-D were randomized into a treatment group(33 cases) and a control group(31 cases). The treatment group was given Shugan-Jianpi TCM decoction and pepper umbilical dressing. The control group was given Pinaverium Bromide Tablets and Flupentixol and Melitracen tablets. After having been treated for 4 weeks, Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA), Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD), IBS Symptom Severity Scale(IBS-SSS), IBS quality of life questionnaire (IBS-QOL) were determined. Results After the treatment, HAMD, HAMA, IBS-SSS in the treatment group and the control group all significantly decreased (the treatment group t=14.280, 13.530, 18.847,the control group t=11.514, 9.424, 13.829, P<0.01), and IBS-QOL increased markedly(t=-16.848, -11.712, P<0.01). Compared with HAMA, IBS-SSS and IBS-QOL in treatment group, the control group showed statistical difference(t=-3.183, -2.549, 3.904, P<0.01 or 0.05). The total effective rate of the treatment group was 94%higher than 75%of the control group(χ2=4.727, P<0.05). Conclusion Shugan-Jianpi TCM decoction and pepper umbilical dressing can improve the clinical symptoms and psychological symptoms and improve the quality of life of IBS-D patients.

0.05).Conclusions Our results suggest that ascites contributes to the exaggerated fibrinolysis in cirrhosis, whereas cirrhosis self, in the absence of ascites, leads to a slightly fibrinolynic state. The t-PA/PAI imbalance was not a main cause of hyperfibrinolysis in patients with cirrhosis.

Objective To observe the Ca 2+ concentration changes in the platelets activated by chemical agonist in different study group treated with aspirin. Methods We measured the Ca 2+concentration in the platelets activated by different concentration of ADP, thrombin, collagen, arachidonic acid and 5-HT with the flowcytometer in normal health (n=20).We measured the Ca 2+ concentration in the platelets activated by ADP, collagen, arachidonic acid and 5-HT in myocardial infarction (n=20) and hypertension (n=20).We measured the Ca 2+concentration in the platelets activated by arachidonic acid in myocardial infarction (n=20) treated with aspirin. Results As the concentrations of ADP, thrombin, collagen, arachidonic acid and 5-HT increased, the Ca 2+concentration in the platelets increased. There was the relation between agonist concentration and Ca 2+ concentration.Activated by the same agonist, the Ca 2+concentration in the platelets showed more increase in myocardial infarction and hypertension than in normal health. The Ca 2+ concentration show less increase in myocardial infarction treated with aspirin than in normal health. Conclusion The procedure which chemical agonist activating platelets is related to Ca 2+ concentration. The activity of Ca 2+ channels in platelets is high in myocardial infarction and hypertension.Examining the Ca 2+ concentration in platelets is helpful to supervise the aspirin therapy in myocardial infarction.

Objective To investigate injecting recombinant human granulocyte-colony stimulating factor(rhG-CSF) on the proportion of peripheral neutrophilic granulocyte and their surface molecules expression in healthy people. Methods The peripheral blood samples were collected from the healthy people who were injected with rhG-CSF.The expressions of CD62L,CD11a,CD44 and CD49d on the surface neutrophilic granulocytes were determined before and after injection with flow cytometery. Results The median percentage of neutrophilic granulocytes in peripheral blood leucocytes after injecting rhG-CSF significantly increased from 60% to 85%(P0.10).Conclusion Injecting rhG-CSF may obviously impact the expression of CD62L and CD49d on neutrophilic granulocytes.
