Procalcitonin ( PCT) has closely related to the severity of senile pulmonary infection, and its dynamic detection can be used as the auxiliary diagnosis index for elderly severe pneumonia ( SP) . The effects of serum PCT dynamic detection in the early quick identification, diagnosis, disease course monitoring and prognosis evaluation for elderly SP were reviewed, and the effects and clinical significance of the detection in the optimization of antibiotic therapy were also summarized in the paper. The results showed the impor-tant value of PCT dynamic detection in the diagnosis of elderly SP and anti-infection therapy.

In this paper,based on the present situation of the pharmaceutical education in China,the author brings forward the challenge and opportunity to pharmaceutical education at medical colleges,and then gives us some helpful ideas to solve the problems.

Objective: To study the inhibitory effect of VEGF antisense oligonucleotides (ASODN) on growth of Lewis lung cancer in C57BL/6 mice.Methods: Lewis lung cancer cells were cultured and implanted subcutaneously into 40 C57BL/6 mice, which were then divided into 4 groups: VEGF-ASODN treatment group, VEGF-SODN treatment group, BEGF-MODN treatment,and control group (normal saline). Mice in different groups were treated 24 hours after cell inoculation. The weight and volume of subcutaneous tumors was measured and the morphological changes of tumor cells was observed under microscope. VEGF protein and microvessel density were examined by immunohistochemistry.Partial tumor tissues were kept in liguid nitrogon.Results: The average tumor weights of the control, VEGF-ASODN, VEGF-SODN and VEGF-MODN groups were (7.33?0.71)g, (4.56?0.38) g, (7.59?0.32) g, and (7.62?0.39) g, respectively. The inhibition rates of tumor growth in VEGF-ASODN, VEGF-SODN and VEGF-MODN group were 43.8%, 5.5% and 3.1%, respectively. VEGF-ASPODN obviously inhibited the tumor cell growth and decelerated the tumor cell proliferation. Intercourse between heart and kidney and harmonization of fire and water are important concepts in TCM.At present,discussions about them are not clear,but confused.This paper concludes the concepts and meanings about intercourse between heart and kidney and harmonization of water and fire,based on opinions of ancient theories of yin and yang,and five elements.It also expounds the differences and relations about harmonization of yin and yang,harmonization of water and fire,and intercourse between heart and kidney,and puts forward that the concept of intercourse between heart and kidney should be divided into aspect in two parts which are in broad sense and in narrow sense.In broad sense,it indicates kidney qi and heart qi interacts in all aspects;in narrow sense,it indicates the intercourse between heart fire and kidney water.The pathway,the time and other meanings about intercourse between heart and kidney are also reviewed in this article.

This paper summarizes the connotation and value of humanistic education. According to the characteristics of the ethicality and social ability of medicine and comparing to the international medical humanistic education standard, it analyzes the present situation and difficulties we are facing and puts for-ward some strategies and measures such as renewing humanity educational ideas, building two dimensional curriculum system of General and Professional Course, cultivating and strengthening teachers team with both professional ability and humanity equality and confirming principles of humanistic education. To cure one patient with spinal cord injury (SCI), who hospitalized for both legs couldn't moving for 21 years after external injury, by using the olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) transplant and acupuncture treatment. The patient was diagnosed as ischemic SCI (below the T11) according to the neurological test and MRI for dorsal vertebra. T11 spinous process was made to be the center mark through operation with the length of about 3 cm. The area between the atrophique spinal cord and normal spinal cord without vessel was selected and injected with OECs 0.5?109 L-1. Hemostasis, stitching, binging and fixation were performed respectively, and normal treatment was given by using antibiotics. At 14 days after operation, the temperature on skin increased a little, and acupuncture treatment and rehabilitation therapy were performed. The acupoints were as following: Baihui (DU21), Yintang (EX-HN3), Hegu (LI4), Zhongji (RN3), Guanyuan (RN4), Biguan (ST31), Fengshi (GB31), Futu (ST32), Dubi (EX-LE5), Zusanli (ST36), Xuehai (SP10), Yinlingquan (SP9), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Jiexi (ST41), Taixi (KI3), Fuliu (KI7), Taichong (LR3), and Shenmai (BL62). The treatment was given by mild reinforcing and attenuating with 30-minute retention. The rehabilitation: The needle pressing, manipulation for muscular atrophy, bicycle practicing, andimperative standing were performed. After 2 weeks, the skin temperature of the patient increased with obvious improvement in his right leg. The physical strength of the patient was reinforced with less perspiration, and the patient could walk 3 km without fatigue, which indicated that after OECs transplant, treatment with acupuncture, massage and other rehabilitation trainings could facilitated the improvement of SCI of the advance stage as well as the amelioration of muscular atrophy.

Objective To explore the effects of interactive health education on the knowledge and behaviors of medicine use and the biochemistry indicators in hemodialysis patients. Methods Forty-eight eligible hemodialysis patients were intervened with interactive health education once every month. After three times'intervention, phosphorus, hemoglobin and hematocrit level were compared before and after the intervention. Results After the intervention, phosphorus, levels of hemoglobin and hematocrit were all significantly improved ( P<0 . 001 ) compared with that before the intervention . Conclusion The interactive health education can improve the knowledge and compliance behaviors in medicine use, serum phosphate and symptoms of anemia in hemodialysis patients.

Objective To analyze the distribution and content characteristics of highly cited pa pers in Chinese nursing journals,in order to give a reference for nursing researchers to design their studies and to improve more high quality nursing papers.Methods Nursing papers were searched from database of China Academic Journal Network.Papers cited 100 times or more were collected for statistical analysis.Results There were 266 nursing papers cited 100 times or more.They were found in 9 nursing journals,of which Chinese Nursing Journal was 69.1％.The paper most highly cited was 1 298 times.The contents of highly cited papers covered basic nursing (infusion nursing and air way nursing),health education,nursing management (safety management,nursing laws,and nursing profession protection),humanistic care,psychological nursing care,and pressure of nurses.Conclusions In order to produce high quality of nursing paper,nursing researchers should improve their academic sensitivity,pay more attention to the scientific fronts,emphasize basic nursing research and study persistent.

Objective:To explore the efficacy and safety of ornidazole in the treatment of trichomonal vaginitis. Methods:Totally 112 cases of trichomonal vaginitis from February 2011 to December 2012 in our hospital were selected and randomly divided into the ob-servation group and the control group with 56 cases in each. The control group was treated with metronidazole tablets 200mg, po,tid, and the observation group was treated with ornidazole tablets 500mg, po,bid. The treatment course was 7 days. The clinical effect, score of clinical symptoms and incidence of adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 96. 4%, which was higher than that of the control group (82. 1%), and the difference was statistically signifi-cant (P<0. 05). The symptom scores of the two groups were significantly improved after the treatment (P<0. 05), however, the score between the two groups showed no significant difference (P>0. 05). The incidence rate of adverse reactions in the observation group was 10. 71%, which was significantly lower than that in the control group (37. 5%), and the difference was statistically signifi-cant (P<0. 05). Conclusion:The clinical curative effect of ornidazole in the treatment of trichomonal vaginitis is notable with faster onset, shorter treatment course, lower adverse reaction rate and better patient tolerance,which is valuable in the clinical promotion.

Objective To investigate the reverse effect and mechanism of the extracted solution of chinese medicine MBC on the drug-resistance of K562/ADM in vitro. Methods MTT assay was used to determine the IC50 of ADM on K562/ADM cell line and the reverse multiples of the drug-resistance before and after MBC treatment. Flow cytometry(FCM) was applied to assess the intracellular concentration of Rh123. Results 8?10 -1 ?g/ml MBC increased cytotoxic effect of ADM on 562/ADM cells, the reverse multiple was 6 28, and MBC could increase the intracellular concentration of Rh123. Conclusion MBC could increase killing effect of ADM on the drug-resistant K562/ADM cell and partly reverse the drug-resistance of K562/ADM cell.
