Duck circovirus(DuCV),a potential immunosuppressive virus, was investigated in Southern China from March 2006 to December 2009 by using a polymerase chain reaction(PCR)based method. In this study,a total of 138 sick or dead duck samples from 18 different farms were examined with an average DuCV infection rate of~35%. It was found that ducks between the ages of 40~60 days were more susceptible to DuCV. There was no evidence showing that the DuCV virus was capable of vertical transmission. Farms with positive PCR results exhibited no regularly apparent clinical abnormalities such as feathering disorders, growth retardation or lower-than-average weight. The complete genomes of 9. strains from Fujian Province and 1 from Zhejiang Province were sequenced and analyzed. The 10 DuCV genomes, compared with others genomes downloaded from GenBank, ranged in size from 1988 to 1996 base pairs, with sequence identities ranging from 83.2% to 99.8%. Phylogenetic analysis based on genome sequences demonstrated that DuCVs can be divided into two distinct genetic genotypes,Group I(the Euro-USA lineage)and Group II(the Taiwan lineage),with approximately 10.0% genetic difference between the two types. Molecular epidemiological data suggest there is no obvious difference among DuCV strains isolated from different geographic locations or different species, including Duck,Muscovy duck,Mule duck,Cheery duck,Mulard duck and Pekin duck.

Objective:
To investigate the value of means of surfaces with nonhomogeneity (MSN) in esti-mating the incidence of pneumoconiosis.
Methods:
Based on the principal component analysis, all counties (districts) of Hebei Province, China, were divided into three categories according to the degree of pneumoconiosis hazards and the MSN model was used to estimate the incidence rate of pneumoconiosis and the number of pneu-moconiosis cases using the data of the incidence of pneumoconiosis in 2010.
Results:
With reference to the appli-cation requirements of the MSN model, results of the principal component analysis, and expert experience, the 172 counties (districts) in Hebei Province were divided into three categories with mild, moderate, and severe pneumoconiosis hazards. There were 74, 61, and 49 counties in the above categories, respectively, and 12, 12, and 25 counties were selected from them, respectively. The estimated number of pneumoconiosis cases in Hebei Province was 2105, and the incidence rate was 261.5 per hundred thousand, with a standard error of esti-mation of 389.9 per hundred thousand.
Conclusion
The MSN model provides a new thought and method for es-timating the number of pneumoconiosis cases.

Objective:To understand the status quo of post-traumatic growth and family environment of parents of children with hemodialysis and analyze the relationship between them. Methods:From April 2017 to May 2019, parents of 200 children with hemodialysis in Children's Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University were selected as research objects by convenience sampling. The general information questionnaire, Post-traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI) , Family Environment Scale-Chinese Version (FES-CV) was used for the survey. Pearson correlation analysis and stratified regression analysis were used to explore the relationship between parents' post-traumatic growth and family environment. A total of 200 questionnaires were issued and 183 valid questionnaires were returned, with an effective response rate of 91.5%.Results:The total score of PTGI of 183 parents of children with hemodialysis was (61.95±15.54) , and that of FES-CV was (49.27±7.38) . The total score of PTGI of parents of children with hemodialysis were positively correlated with family environment intimacy, emotional expression, independence, success, culture, entertainment, morality and religion and organizational subscale scores ( P<0.05) , and negatively correlated with scores of environmental contradictions and control subscales ( P<0.05) . The results of stratified regression analysis show that after controlling general data, intimacy and emotional expression in the family environment were the main influencing factors for the post-traumatic growth of the parents of hemodialysis children. Conclusions:The post-traumatic growth of parents of children with hemodialysis is closely related to the family environment. Clinical nurses should take targeted measures to help parents get support from within the family, help them actively cope with diseases and improve post-traumatic growth.

Herald of Medicine 2024;43(9):1393-1397
Objective To investigate the mechanism of copper ionophore elesclomol induced cuproptosis in endometrial cancer cells. Methods HEC-1-A cells were treated with different concentrations of copper ion carrier elesclomol and copper chloride.Cell proliferation was detected using a cell counting kit(CCK-8)assay.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)detected mitochondrial respiratory chain complexesⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,and IV.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)was used to detect mRNA expression.Western blotting and immunohistochemistry were used to detect protein expression. Results Adding elesclomol or copper chloride alone to HEC-1-A cells did not affect cell survival. However, the simultaneous addition of 50 nmol·L-1 elesclomol and 1 μmol·L-1 copper ions caused a significant decrease in cell survival(P<0.01).Elesclomol-induced HEC-1-A cell death does not involve the apoptosis mechanism. After treatment with 50 nmol·L-1 elesclomol and 1 μmol·L-1 copper ions in HEC-1-A cells, the levels of mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes Ⅰ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲsignificantly increased. After knocking down ferredoxin 1(FDX1),the cuproptosis in HEC-1-A cells was significantly inhibited(P<0.01).In addition,FDX1 was under-expressed in endometrial cancer tissues. Conclusion Elesclomol may promote cuproptosis in endometrial cancer cells through the FDX1/mitochondrial respiratory pathway.
