Objective To evaluate the effect of dental water jet on oral hygiene maintenance in orthodontic patients with fixed appliances. Methods One hundred and twenty orthodontic patients with fixed appliances were randomly assigned into the manual toothbrush group and the dental water jet group. Dental plaque was evaluated and compared before the bonding of orthodontic appliances, three months and six months after the treatment. Results There was no significant difference between two groups before treatment. But the dental water jet group was superior than the manual toothbrush group in dental plaque index 3 and 6 months after treatment. Conclusions Dental water jet can reduce dental plaque and im -prove the oral hygiene of patients with fixed appliances.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the germicidal efficacy of phthalaldehyde disinfectant.METHODS Suspension quantitative bactericidal test was used to observe its bactericidal efficacy and stability.RESULTS The temperature was 20-21℃.The results showed that the average killing rates of Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans exposed to the solution containing 5 664mg/L phthalaldehyde for 1 min were 99.99%,and the(average) killing rates of spores of Bacillus subtilis var.niger exposed to the solution containing 5 664mg/L(phthalaldehyde) for 60 min and 90 min was 99.94% and 100%,respectively.When its stock solution was stored at 56℃ under airtight condition for 2 weeks,the content of phthalaldehyde decreased by 3.27%.CONCLUSIONS The phthalaldehyde disinfectant is a good and stable bactericide.

OBJECTIVE:To reduce errors in drug dispensing so as to improve the accuracy of drug use.METHODS:The application of bar code technology in both domestic and foreign counties was overviewed,the flow-sheet and the chief function of the “bar code checking program”for the drug dispensing developed in our hospital were introduced.RESULTS &CONCLUSION:Connecting “bar code checking program”to hospital information system in the drug dispensing and adding machine judgment procedures can reduce the occurrence of error while improving quality of drugs dispensing.

Objective To investigate the homology of methicillin-resistant Stphylococcusaureus(MRSA)from the neonatal intensive care unit(NICU)of a children's hospital,and evaluate routes and preventive strategies of MRSA healthcare-associated infection(HAI). Methods MRSA strains from neonates and environment of NICU between October and December 2014 were collected,and strains were identified by VITEK-2 microbial analysis system and cefoxitin Kirby-Bauer method,homology of MRSA was analyzed by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE ). Results A total of 6 MRSA strains were isolated from NICU between October and December 2014,3 of which (bed-58,70,and 100)were detected MRSA from specimens,MRSA were isolated from neonatal incubator and nurse (nasal swabs and hands)who cared for neonate at bed 58. 5 of 6 MRSA strains were homology,antimicrobial susceptibility testing result showed that No. 1-5 strains were resistant to clindamycin and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid,No. 6 strain was slightly different from No. 1-5 strains,No. 6 strain was susceptible to both clindamycin and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid. PFGE results showed that No. 1-5 strains were of the same type,No. 6 strain was a different type. Conclusion The main route of this MRSA transmission is contact transmission,especially through the hands of health care workers,identification and analysis of epidemic strains by PFGE technique is an effective measures to prevent HAI outbreak and perform epidemiological study.

Objective To investigate Yiqi Huatan Decoction(YHD), a compound recipe with the actions of tonifying Qi and resolving phlegm, on aquaporin 5(AQP5), tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)and mucin 5AC(MUC5AC)in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases(COPD)rats. Methods SD rats were randomized into blank control group, model group, and low-, middle- and high-dose YHD groups(in the dosage of 7.398, 36.99, 73.98 g·kg-1·d-1 respectively). The rat model of COPD was induced by cigarette smoking combined with intratracheal dripping of lipopolysaccharide(LPS). After COPD rats were treated with YHD for 30 days, the histological features of lung tissues were observed after hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, the expression of AQP5, TNF -α and MUC5AC in the lung tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry, the concentrations of AQP5, TNF-α and MUC5AC in BALF of rats were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). Results Compared with the blank control group, the concentration of AQP5 in BALF of the model group was decreased significantly(P<0.01), while the concentrations of TNF-αand MUC5AC were significantly increased(P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the pathological features of the lung tissue were relieved, and the concentration of AQP5 was increased significantly in low-, middle-, high-dose YHD groups (P<0.01), but the concentrations of TNF-α and MUC5AC were significantly decreased (P<0.01), and the effect of high-dose group was superior to low-and middle-dose groups(P<0.01). Conclusion The therapeutic mechanism of YHD for COPD is probably related with the regulation of fluid transport in aquaporin water channels of rats.

ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between the status of vitamin A and the level of AntiHBs in infants.Methods One hundred and ninty eight infants met the criteria were recruited into an investigation through local vaccination service.Two milliter venous blood was drawn from each studied child,and the infants' feeding information of successive 72 hours was collected through the 24-hour dietary recall method and 2-day diet records method.The nutrients intakes were analyzed with a NCCW software for calculation.The concentration of serum vitamin A and Anti-HBs was analyzed by HPLC and ECLIA,respectively.The logarithm of anti-HBs concentrations was compared among sub-clinical vitamin A deficiency (87 cases ),suspicious subclinical vitamin A deficient group (51 cases )and normal group (60 cases )and the relationship between the logarithm of anti-HBs concentrations and vitamin A were analyzed.ResultsThere were only 19.7％ of children whose average daily intake of vitamin A reached the 80％ of recommended nutrient intakes(RNI).The incidence rate of vitamin A malnutrition was 67.2％.The serum Anti-HBs GMC was 402.8 U/L The positive rate was 98.0％.There were significant differences on Anti-HBs Ig GMC between Sub-clinical vitamin A deficiency (SVAD) group,suspicious SVAD group and normal group( F =15.88,P ＜ 0.001 ).The correlation coefficient between the level of serum vitamin A and Anti-HBs lg GMC was 0.441 ( P =0.01 ).ConclusionThe results show that the level of serum vitamin A may have influence on the maintenance of an effective anti-HBs level against hepatitis B virus.

Objective : To evaluate the risk of cardiovascular disease in hypertensive patients managed by communities in Tongxiang in the next 10 years,and to provide evidence for the development of cardiovascular disease prevention strategies. Methods: The information about hypertensive patients managed by communities was collected from Tongxiang resident health records management system. The risk of ischemic cardiovascular disease（ICVD）in the next 10 years was assessed by the Assessment Scale of 10-Year ICVD Risk in Chinese. Results: A total of 27 173 hypertensive patients managed by communities with complete data were recruited,including 11 868 males,accounting for 43.68%,and 15 305 females,accounting for 56.32%. The median（inter-quartile range）of the total scores of 10-year ICVD risk in hypertensive patients was 8.00（3.00）,with 9.00（2.00）in males and 8.00（2.00）in females. The total scores of 10-year ICVD risk in males was significantly higher than those in females（P<0.05）. A total of 8 764 patients had high 10-year ICVD risk,accounting for 32.25%. The proportion of high10-year ICVD risk in females with hypertension was higher than that in males（P<0.05）. The weights of ICVD risk factors in males were 54.58% in age,17.42% in systolic blood pressure,14.27% in smoking,7.77% in body mass index,4.51% in total cholesterol and 1.45% in diabetes;the ones in females were 63.57% in age,14.63% in systolic blood pressure,9.81% in body mass index,6.00% in total cholesterol,5.88% in diabetes and 0.11% in smoking. Conclusion The ICVD risk of hypertensive patients managed by communities in Tongxiang is higher in the next 10 years. Male patients should focus on the control of blood pressure and smoking,while female patients should focus on the control of blood pressure and body weight.

Objective To compare the molluscicidal effects between“Luo-wei”(TDS),a plant molluscicide in 4 percent, and metaldehyde and niclosamide(MNSC)in the field. Methods A natural ecological environment with Oncomelania hupensis was selected as the test area,the test concentrations of TDS and MNSC were 2.5 g/m3 and 2 ml/m3 respectively by the immersion method;the test doses of TDS and MNSC were 3 g/m2 and 2 ml/m2 respectively by the spray method;the doses of WPN in a control group were 2 g/m3 and 2 g/m2 respectively by the two methods above-mentioned. The molluscicidal effects between TDS and MNSC were compared by using the synchronous design method and parallel comparative method. Results In the TDS group,the death rate of snails was 90.70%by immersion for 24 hours,reached to 81.40%after spraying for 7 days,and there were no significant differences among the observation time points in molluscicidal effects(P>0.05). One day after the spraying,the death rate of snails was less in the TDS group compared with that in the MSCN group(P<0.01),but the death rates of snails were similar in both groups 3 days after the spraying(P>0.05). In the MSCN group,the death rate of snails was 99.17%by immersion for 24 hours,reached to 66.07% by spraying for 1 day. In the WPS group,the death rate of snails was 97.15% by immersion for 24 hours,reached to 71.43%after spraying for 1 day,and there were no significant differences(both P>0.05). Conclusion TDS has a good molluscicidal activity and stable efficacy,and the molluscicidal effect of TDS is similar to that of MSCN in the filed, but the molluscicidal sensitivity of TDS is lower than that of MSCN.

Objective To evaluate the changes of left ventricular(LV) 3-dimension peak displacement (3D-D) during different cardiac pacing patterns. To provide a reliable mechanical data base for the optimization cardiac pacing. Methods Cardiac pacings in open-chest Beagle canine models( n = 10) were performed using three patterns[I, e. , right ventricular apical pacing (RVA-P), LV lateral pacing (LVL-P)and LV apical pacing(LVA-P)],3D full volumetric real-time imaging were acquired in a completed cardiac cycle. The 3D-D,3D-D peak time (3D-DTc) and the standard deviation of TC(3D-DTSD) were calculated and analyzed in different pacing patterns for difference and spatial correlationship. Results ① The 3D-D of LVL-P and LVA-P state decreased compared with BASE and RVA-P state, there were significant 3D-D difference of mid anterior,mid anteriorspetal, mid interior,mid posterior, mid lateral between LVL-P and BASE, RVA-P patterns( P ＜0.05). There were significant 3D-D difference of mid anterior,mid lateral,mid posterior between LVA-P and RVA-P patterns groups( P ＜0.05). There were significant 3D-D difference of all segments in apical level between LVL-P,LVA-P and BASE, RVA-P states( P ＜0.05). ② Corrected by the heart rate,the 3D-DTC of different cardiac pacing patterns were shorter than BASE state. ③ There were no significant 3D-DTSD difference between different cardiac pacings and BASE patterns. There were significant 3D-DTSD difference between RVA-P and LVA-P patterns (P ＜ 0.05). Conclusions LV mechanical activation and synchronization could be maintained during RVA-P rather than LVA-P and LVL-P. Echocardiographic study of left ventricular 3D-D can actually reveal myocardial mechanical state during different cardiac pacings and BASE patterns.
