The aim of this study was to prepare chitosan film and to study its hemostatic properties. Chitosan film was prepared by casting the mixed solution of dialysed chitosan and gelatin after crosslinking with glutaraldehyde in a freeze dryer. Bleeding times were measured for bilateral back incisions (5 incisions on each side) in 4 New Zealand white rabbits. Using a randomized, blinded experimental design, one incision in each animal was treated with chitosan film, the other was treated with gauze. After bleeding stopped ,hemoglobin amount in films or gauzes was measured to determine the hemostatic effect. The results showed that the chitosan film adhered well to incisions. Bleeding times and hemoglobin amounts in chitosan film group were superior to those in gauze group( P

Objective To establish an animal model of sacral nerve root avulsion in rats and e-valuate its efficiency. Methods A total of 20 adult SD rats (either sex) were chosen at random to es-tablish the sacral nerve root avulsion model by avulsing the fight L4-6 nerve roots out of intervertebral fo-ramina without laminectomy. The left side was set as control group. The models were evaluated in aspects of survival rate, Basso-Beattie-Bresnahan (BBB) scores, somatosensory evoked potential (SEP), horse radish peroxidase (HRP) tracing, bilateral weight and cross section area (CSA) of muscle biceps femo-ris, fiber of triceps surae and anterior tibial muscle. Results Of all, 19 rats were survived but one died, with survival rate of 95.0%. The BBB score was (10.78+3.15) points in experimental group and 21 points in control group. The success rate of establishing animal model was 89.5% ,for there detected no SEP in bilateral cerebral cortex of the wounded extremity of 17 rats. HRP showed positive reaction in the spinal segment of L4-6 in two rats but negative in 17, with success rate of 89.5%. There was statistical difference in aspects of weight and muscle fiber CSA of double biceps femoris, triceps surae and anterior fibial muscle between experimental group and control group. Electron microscope found denervation chan-ges including muscle fiber atrophy, nucleus shifting to (center and muscle satellite cell. Conclusion A-vulsion of L4-6 sacral nerve root out of vertebral canal is a feasible and ideal method to establish the avui-sion model of sacral nerve root injury in rats.

Objective Analysis of the operational efficiency trends of and problems with the public tertiary hospitals. Methods A retrospective statistics analyzed the indicators of ten public tertiary general hospitals in Shanghai during 1997-2006. Results The outpatients number per capita for the hospital staff maintains an rising trend, averaging 12.2% per year prior to year 2000; The yearly-averaged total assets turnover of the hospitals decreases from 0.89 in 1997 to 0.69 in 2003, then maintaining unchanged; The yearly-averaged receivables turnover began to fall since 1999, falling from 21.4 in 1999 to 9.7 in 2006; hospital income growth fluctuated during the years, yet with a high level of total assets growth; given the fluctuations in asset-liability ratio, such ratio has been growing slowly, maintaining at 20 % since 2004. Conclusion Problems are found with the operational efficiency of these public tertiary general hospitals as follows: the rapid growth of productivity in such hospitals finds no concurrent improvements in assets related indicators. Against a low income ratio, high debt ratio will plague hospital development to some extent.

Objective To develop a rapid and specific method for identification of listerial species and differentiation of Listeria monocytogenes。 Method Primers targeting the iap and hly genes specific for listerial species and L monocytogenes were designed。 The dulplex PCR and triplex PCR were compared for their ability to identify and differentiate the listerial species。 Results Both dulplex PCR and triplex PCR are specific to all listerial reference strains. The dulplex-PCR could not identify some of the L. monocytogenes isolates while the triplex PCR did. Conclusion The triplex PCR method could be used not only for identification of listerial species but also for differentiation of L. monocytogenes from the mixed listerial suspensions.

Summary
Sarcomatoid carcinoma, a malignant tumor containing both epithelial-derived malignant cells and malignant mesenchymal cells. Microscopically, cancer cells and sarcoma cells migrate to each other, and CK and Vimentin are simultaneously expressed. A rare case of tonsillar sarcomatoid carcinoma is discussed in our department with dysphagia as the first symptom.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the feasibility of a three-dimensional (3 D) operation planning system for precise hepatectomy in patients with giant hcpatocellular carcinoma (HCC).MethodsThe clinical data of 34 patients with giant HCC who received precise hepatectomy at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from May 2009 to May 2011 were retrospectively analyzed.Preoperative evaluation was done based on the computed tomography data, and the resection margin and the volume of resectcd liver were calculated using simulation. The predicted resected liver volume and resection margins were compared with the results of the actual operations. All data were analyzed using the t test, and the correlation between predicted and the actual values was analyzed by calculating Pearson correlation coefficients. Results Hepatic and tumor tissues and the hepatic vessels were reconstructed three-dimensionally using the 3D preoperative simulation software. The volume of simulated resected liver and the length of resection margin were ( 2112 ± 1550 ) ml and ( 12 ± 6) mm,respectively, while the volume of actual resected liver and the length of resection margin were (2031 ± 1411 )ml and ( 12 ± 6)mm,respectively.The predicted and the actual values were statistically correlated ( r =0.961,0.923,P < 0.05 ).There was no significant difference between the predicted and the actual values ( t =1.549,1.143,P > 0.05 ).All patients received precise hepatectomy, and no hepatic failure or death was observed. Conclusion The 3D operation planning system can accurately evaluate the condition of the liver and simulate hepatectomy, and could contribute to safer and more curative precise hepatectomy in patients with giant HCC.

The clinical electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring systems based on personal computer system can not meet the requirements of portability and home usage. The epilepsy patients have to be monitored in hospital for an extended period of time, which imposes a heavy burden on hospitals. In the present study, we designed a portable 16-lead networked monitoring system based on the Android smart phone. The system uses some technologies including the active electrode, the WiFi wireless transmission, the multi-scale permutation entropy (MPE) algorithm, the back-propagation (BP) neural network algorithm, etc. Moreover, the software of Android mobile application can realize the processing and analysis of EEG data, the display of EEG waveform and the alarm of epileptic seizure. The system has been tested on the mobile phones with Android 2. 3 operating system or higher version and the results showed that this software ran accurately and steadily in the detection of epileptic seizure. In conclusion, this paper provides a portable and reliable solution for epileptic seizure monitoring in clinical and home applications.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2016;22(3):345-349
Objective To investigate the effects of rehabilitation nursing on quality of life in patients after burn injuries. Methods The re-ports about rehabilitation nursing for burn patients from January, 2004 to June, 2015 were searched and extracted from the databases of Chi-na Biology Medicine, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wangfang Data and Chongqing VIP Database, and analyzed with Review Manager 5.3. Results 11 non-randomized control studies (MINROS score:13~19) were eligible for meta-analysis. There were significant differences in the general health (MD=7.78, 95%CI:6.79~8.77, P<0.001), social function (MD=10.26, 95%CI:5.91~14.60, P<0.001), men-tal function (MD=9.71, 95%CI:6.87~12.55, P<0.001) and physical function (MD=6.88, 95%CI:3.95~9.81, P<0.001) between experimental group and control group. Conclusion Rehabilitation nursing can improve the quality of life of burn patients.
